We used to be able to copy a formula field from one table and paste it in a linked record field of another table, but are no longer able to do so. Is there a way to re-enable this?

Our solution as been to export to CSV then upload it to the table wanting to copy it into or create look-ups to autofill depending on the use case.

@anewcomb if you’re using formula fields as your primary field in the 2nd table, you can only paste existing values in the linked record field, not brand new values that have never existed before.

The solution would be to create the record in the 2nd table first.

Either: (1) do this manually, or (2) use an Airtable automation to do this, or (3) write a JavaScript to do this, or (4) create a Make automation, which offers very powerful automations & integrations without the need for writing scripts. Make has a bit of a learning curve, so I created some basic navigation tips here.
