Hi everyone, I want to set up a trigger in Airtable to take a PDF file (a complex, finished, unsigned 35 page application package) stored in a field and underlay that PDF under some signature blocks using some kind of e-signatures app. I can currently do this with some manual activity between Zoho CRM and Zoho Sign, but I want to move away from Zoho and have Airtable effectively be the CRM and perhaps some capable e-signature app I don't know about take care of this kind of e-signature. Thanks!
You can use Make’s advanced automations and integrations to integrate Airtable with Zoho, and if you don’t want to use Zoho, Make has full support for many other eSignature apps as well. For example, I like using Make’s eSignatures.com integrations.
If you’ve never used Make before, I’ve assembled a bunch of Make training resources in this thread. For example, here is one of the ways that you could instantly trigger a Make automation from Airtable.
Alternatively, one of the easiest ways of doing eSignatures is to use Fillout’s advanced forms for Airtable.
I show how to do this step-by-step on this Airtable podcast episode:
Fillout also offers hundreds of features that Airtable’s native forms don’t offer, including the ability to update Airtable records using a form, accept payments on forms, display Airtable lookup fields on forms, create new linked records on a form, control access to a form via SSO or email domains or a list of email addresses stored in Airtable, perform math or other live calculations on your forms, collect signatures on a form, create multi-page forms with conditional paths, connect a single form to dozens of external apps simultaneously, add CAPTCHAs to your form, and much more.
Hope this helps!
If you have a budget and you’d like to hire the best Airtable consultant to help you with this or anything else that is Airtable-related, please feel free to contact me through my website: Airtable consultant — ScottWorld
Most people use an integration tool like Make to do this, which has full support for the entire Zoho suite, along with support for many other e-signature apps and PDF creation apps.
The only issue is that there is a steep learning curve with Make, but I offer some tips & tricks here.
Thanks, Scott. I appreciate your response. I am not looking to use Zoho at all if possible. I would like to make a Button in Airtable that, when clicked, runs a 35-page PDF stored in an Airtable field through an e-signature template that overlays signature blocks on that PDF and then emails it to a person identified in another Airtable field.
