Why does my primary field total display xxx Stories on some dBases and xxx Records on others. OK, dumb question, but I had to ask... and it's not in the AT Glossary of Terms.

You need to rename the table, not the field.

+35Unfortunately, Airtable automatically makes those choices for you. You can change it by renaming the table, and at the bottom, you will see a pop-up list of a few preselected nouns to choose from.

Thank you. Renamed the 'Single Line Text' table from 'Associations' to 'Item' but still says 'Stories'. And don't see a pop-up; except for the additional pop-up for 'None, Empty, Filled, etc.'

Not seeing that drop-down option list. Only the normal 'Edit Field', 'Duplicate Field', etc. choices. Am I missing something?
