Viewing due dates once it is linked to calendar

Hi all. I have a to do list that my team works from. I linked due dates to the calendar so we can have a birds eye view of the month. However, we now can’t see the due dates when we are in the to do task list unless we hover over them. Is there a way to have the tasks be linked to a calendar but also see the actual dates in the task tab?
Also, how do you sort by date? I have only been able to do A-Z, Z-A? TY!
