Right now you can @ a user in record-comments, but you can’t @ a record as far as I can see.   It’s very common to want to reference other records in comments.

Yes I know I can link to other records in a record - but that doesn’t provide the context that an @-mention in comment would.

E.g. in a record named “Collapse map icons when zoomed out” - we may want to @-mention another record like

“We should make sure that we coordinate with [@Prevent map zoom from jumping when witching to map-mode] on this one as they have overlapping parts”

Bonus points if this triggers a reverse comment on the mentioned record like:

“This record was mentioned in [@Collapse map icons when zoomed out]
> We should make sure that we coordinate with [@Prevent map zoom from jumping when witching to map-mode] on this one as they have overlapping parts”

“@” in a comment triggers a search not just over users but also records

If a comment @-mentions another record, it creates a clickable link to that record.

If you hover over an @-mention - it shows a preview of that record.

That’s a cool idea. Airtable doesn’t read our posts here, so be sure to submit that as a feature request on their product ideas submission form. They do read the submissions of that form!
