Display of timespan in timeline and Gantt chart

Hi, 

I am working on a historical research that deals with a timespan of 500 years. Now I want the timeline and Gantt to display that timespan with subdivisions of 100 / 50/ 10 years. 

The UI allows me only a max span of 5 years. 

Any ideas?
