Question

Is anyone actually getting value from AI on top of their Airtable base, or is it still mostly experiments?

Hi everyone,

We work with a lot of small and medium businesses that run their operations on Airtable, and AI is the #1 thing they ask us about. But I keep seeing the same pattern:

  • The team tries an AI tool or a chatbot connected to their base
  • It works great in the demo
  • Then it gives wrong answers in real use, because the data is spread across several bases, spreadsheets and inboxes, and fields mean different things to different people

What we’ve seen work best is cleaning up and centralizing the data first (one reliable source of truth with clear permissions), and only then adding AI agents on top to answer questions, trigger automations and handle the repetitive work.

I’d love to hear from the community:

  1. Are you using Airtable AI, Omni or any external AI agents with your bases today?
  2. What’s the one task you’d most like AI to take off your plate?
  3. If you tried it and it didn’t work, what went wrong?

Happy to share what we’ve learned building these setups for SMBs, including what didn’t work.
