When you expand a record in the top left corner are arrows to move up and down the table. A + button next to them that adds a new record in the same table would be amazingly useful.

There have been many threads in here over the months to make Airtable more Forms Based (rightly so in my view) - but it occurs to me that a relatively simple start to this would be to build a List / Details type view with a brief (one or two fields) list of records on the left and then details displayed on a form on the right. The user should be able to specify fields to use in both areas. This type of layout was used to very good effect by Microsoft as one of the default layout in their Access Web Apps product (now pretty much defunct) - looking like this: Note - this is a screenshot of an app I built and used to sell on the MS App Store before Access Web Apps was announced as retiring - all the data is demo information and not ‘real’. AWA will be retired this month. How about it Airtable?

I’m using the calendar view to program a conference and I love the drag-and-drop and drag-to-expand functionality. This is making a task I used to struggle through SO much easier. However these functions only support 15-minute increments – I can start at 9:00 or 9:15 but not 9:10 or 9:20. And I can make events last for 15 or 30 minutes, but not 20 or 40. I know I can set the time however I want once I click to open the event. I’m looking to be able to do this via drag-and-drop and drag-to-expand. thank you

Hi! Yes I said it - I need some unstructured in Airtable! I would like a “free form” view like a Canvas view with the option to add relations between record. I like Airtable because is so organized and structured but sometimes it’s not nice (and creative) to be unstructured :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I would use it for a more open brainstorm or mindmap session that it could then organize more in grid view or the like. The process would be just to add and group records before you had defined all the field data. Sometimes you just want to get started with something I like the way calendar works where you have a menu with the records on the side that you can drag in and out. So instead of the calendar, it would just be an infinite canvas.

Right now I am converting my PDF forms into JPGs in order to upload them and utilize them on Page Builder. I am then creating table links to different portions of the form and basically creating an airtable fill-able pdf. My reasoning for utilizing this instead of just doing the online pdf is because I have portions of documents that need to be filled out by clients and it is much more convenient to send them a link to a form than try and mark up every part I need them to type. This also allows me to capture their response into my database so that I can utilize their information elsewhere. A one and done deal, I can export (automatically) the responses to a csv and directly import them into my title block on the software I use. I think adding pdfs to the static section of the page builder would be great, especially if it scaled the page by the pdf size.

We’ve been using the Calendar view to manage all of our internal and client events and deadlines. Something that has been a huge value add to our clients is being able to create their own calendar for them so that they can subscribe to it and we it can be just a view of our master calendar. It would be hugely valuable to add a “group by” option in the calendar view so that you can choose a group (like “project #1”) from a dropdown rather than having to type text into the filter It would also be valuable to be able to share or subscribe to a calendar for a single group. This could also be accomplished by “auto-generating” views based on grouping by a field Thanks so much!!

At the moment when you have a date column in a table and your group by date, it doesn’t allow you to chose if you want to group the entries by day, month or year. It just groups them by the date number. I think it will be very useful to group it by month as I use Airtable to track my company’s expenses and I want to be able to group it by months as otherwise, I have too many entries.

I would find it very useful if there was an embed block that would be kind of similar to the page designer except that instead of printing it would be for embedding it into a website. The use case would be showing records from Airtable in a more customized way that would feel and look more just like a part of the webpage. Say I wanted to show a table with all our employees. Right now it would be via an embed view (which is great) but if I could design it to look and feel just like our website it would be very useful

Have you ever found yourself asking these questions? “Why did I create this field?” “Why do have a ‘Name - Status’ formula in this field?” “Can I delete this field?” "What’ll break if I delete this field? It’d be nice if we could see where our fields are being used. Perhaps a third tab in the “Customize Field Tab” area, right next to “Formatting.” Where it would list dependent fields! BOOM. DO IT! 🙂

In Excel/GSheets you can automatically adjust the min width of columns by double-clicking the separator. It would be nice to do this in Airtable’s grids as well 😄
