What is the proposed idea/solution? Airtable base needs a special table (or method) for adding and managing data related to collaborators. I mean this by team members. How does is solve the user problems? Think that you're tracking work hours of your team and everyone can go and add their own hours via interface or something else. Now you should be able to add "global" data related to who has done the record (or marked as collaborator to that data). For example hourly salary, work hours etc. Sky is the limit really. It would replace the "normal" way employees/users are "meant" to be done now. Being able to link that data to collaborator in base level would solve many issues with data linking and keeping them organized. Also it then should be possible to lookup and rollup data based on linked collaborator(s). So basically the "collaborator" field would be just a special kind of link to another record and every base would have this one special table just for them. Or something similar. Who is the target audience? Everybody who use collaborator field.

I would like to copy filters from multiple views and combine them in one single view. I'm getting to the point where one view has what I need and I want to compare it with another view. The current solution is to hire an engineer to write a script or painstakingly rebuild one filter onto an existing one. I've seen this idea before and will hope a new 'request' will resurface the need for more reusable functionality around filters.

I think a key missing feature is the ability to embed items into an interface. I think this could take one of two (or both) forms. 1. A field that functions kind of like a "document" field. You insert an embed link. When viewed in a base, or in a grid/list view, it just shows as a preview - But when viewed in a record details pane - it translates to a custom sizable-embedded page. Each record's embedded view is based on the link in the field - just like the Button field type. 2. A "hard-coded" form - kind of like the difference between the "button field type" and the buttons you can set up in an interface. In the from-scratch interface builder - there would be a new element type called "Embed" where you could manual populate to with whatever embedded link needed. For example a google doc - or a news feed, etc. This by itself would accomplish half of the ideas that users have been putting forward for new automation triggers and integrations.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Would love for the date field to have a new format (Day, month/day/year). Example: Friday, September 19, 2024. How does is solve the user problems? It would be super helpful so folks aren't having to switch back and forth between a calendar to see which day lands on that specific date. Our team uses Airtable a lot, and we've been having to create a separate text line to write out the day of the week. Would be much easier if the date format included day. How was this validated? ... Who is the target audience? ...

I know we can alphabetize all the options in a Multi Select field, but the field itself will display all the entries in the order in which they were selected. That should be an optional toggle, to let it display as it does currently or also alphabetically. When looking at many records at a time, and trying to compare values in a Multi Select field, it makes it very messy and difficult.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Currently in a list view in Airtable, a url field does not allow the url contained therein to be clicked. Clicking in the field only begins editing the field. Because of this, the only way to actually navigate to the url contained in the field is to either click on it from a grid view, or copy it from the field in the list view and paste it into the browser manually. Video here of current list view behavior vs. grid view. How does is solve the user problems? Rather than having to change views or copy and paste, allows the url to be used for its stated purpose Who is the target audience? All list view users.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Now to filter field you need to: 1) Press field title, 2) move cursor down, 3) press Filter by this field, 4) choose value(s) from drop list. That's really a lot of moves when you need to filter by a few such fields! My idea is add a possibility to filter single select/checkbox and other fields with single select property immediately by visible value: in some record you see a needed value by which you want to filter and: 1) press right button on value (goes to function menue), 2) press a line called something like "Filter by this field+value". Thats all! It adds filter by choosen field and value. How does is solve the user problems? Make filtering single select/checkbox and other fields with single select property much faster and easier How was this validated? By making a lot of unnecessary moves while filtering multiple fields. Who is the target audience? Everyone who uses single select/checkbox and other fields with single select property.

I'd really love to see some better handling of photos that are added to attachment fields, particularly outside of Gallery views. Far too often a photo's dimensions don't allow a good preview either in a grid view or the expanded record detail view, and the only way to see the full image is to open the attachment or to rely on a Gallery view. It would be really great if you could tell it to fit photos, just like in Gallery view, elsewhere; this would give a better experience with uploaded photos inline.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Having a field permission were Nobody can edit the field if the field is anything other than blank How does is solve the user problems? The field can be accidently overwritten but still needs to be able to be set How was this validated? ... Who is the target audience? all users who want to protect the fields once they are set

Create a toggle button for multi and single select fields to not allow new select options to be added by an Editor that creates records. We would like to allow Editors the ability to add records but not add rogue field options, which is hurting our data that we want to track. We do not want to grant them any higher access to be a Collaborator. Current state, we are spending a lot of time to continually re-train the users to not add in rogue select options. This toggle button option should carry through the CSV Import Extension so no button appears for users to try and add in missing options.
