What is the proposed idea/solution? It would be great to have the ability to set expirations dates on Automations. Past a designated date, the automation would turn "OFF", or become archived/deleted. How does is solve the user problems? If a user wants to setup an automation for, say, an attendance/signup email reminder to go out daily (to a list of emails records in a view that have not yet signed up for an event) until the day of the event. This would solve mismanagement of automations, as well as unnecessary/irrelevant messages being sent to anyone using messaging action integrations (email, outlook, slack, gmail, etc). How was this validated? Not sure what this prompt means(...?). I discovered the need for this feature as I came up with the need to "kill" an automated message prompt for users to sign up for an event—without having to "remember" to go turn it off. Who is the target audience? ...Anyone who needs to turn off an automation on a specific date, automatically.

Please extend the comments feature so that it is broader than the limited focus of per record comments. Enhanced Collaborative Communication: By allowing comments at different levels, team members can have more context-specific discussions. This feature would enable users to leave comments on a specific base, table, or view, fostering clearer, more organized communication. It would essentially turn Airtable into a more collaborative workspace, where team members can easily discuss broader strategies at the base level, specific data sets at the table level, and particular views or filters. Improved Workflow Management: This feature would be a game changer for project management. Teams could streamline their workflow by discussing and tracking changes directly within Airtable, reducing the need for external communication tools. This centralized communication would lead to fewer misunderstandings and a more cohesive workflow, especially in remote or hybrid work environments. User-Friendly Experience: Embedding comments at different levels would make Airtable more intuitive and user-friendly. Users could easily navigate to relevant discussions without having to sift through unrelated comments at the record level. This is particularly beneficial for new team members who need to quickly understand the context and history of a project. Comments at the view level strike me as being the most useful - views are where most work is taking place and being able to have focused discussions at that level next to the data would be incredibly useful.

I tend to review my customers Automation History in batches. Once I review the run history, fix any errors or bugs and apply any Automation and Script enhancements, I'd then like the ability to "clear" the history. Not necessarily delete the history, but just hide or archive the history. This is the history of just one Automation, but I manage dozens, and having an ability to hide previously executed runs would be very useful.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Add ability to @ mention users in the MS Teams Integration How does is solve the user problems? Currently a notification is pushed ot a Teams channel when a user submits a new form creating a record. I'd like to be able to include an @ mention to our PM or specific users so it does not get lost in the channel How was this validated? Created automation and confirmed in documentation @ mentions and DMs are not currently supported by Airtable Who is the target audience? Base owners, PMs, task owners

On the topic of Automation Run errors, the automatic emails Airtable sends are far too cryptic. When you actually click from the email back into the product, you don’t take me to the exact execution that caused an error (instead, I’m left to “doom scroll forever” to find it). So… crazy idea here… what if the Error emails Airtable sends ACTUALLY INCLUDES more details about the error that was encountered? Like maybe a copy of the execution log? Or something like that? Please? (I really don’t want to waste my time dealing with bad UX while trying to fix automation issues.)

Frankly, this should have been implemented by now. I shouldn’t have to manually keep track of stats run per automation. Why is this important? Well, once you hit your 50K runs/month limit, the first sane thing you’ll want to do is: Figure out which Automation was responsible for contributing THE MOST to this months quota. Does Airtable provide any built-in way to manage this? No. So you’re left spending more dev cycles implementing some hokey third-party webhook system to capture EVERY Automation Run evaluation and writing the date of each evaluation out to something like a Google Sheet (because Google Sheets don’t have a 50K record limit). Then, once your stats are in Google Sheet, you need to spend time building graphs split by Automation Name to see how many executions ran per minute/per day/per week to figure out likely culprits. Again, more time wasted. Next, once you find the culprit Automations, you might want to search the Automation Run logs to around the time WHEN THE SPIKE HAPPENED. Does Airtable allow you to do this? Sure – you can pull up the run logs… AND THEN YOU HAVE TO MASSIVELY SCROLL through historical logs – there’s no way to say “take me to the run logs back on 2022-04-15 @ 12:25 UTC” exactly – no, you’re left manually scrolling and clicking the “more” button for ever… and ever… and ever… and… well, you get the point. Oh, and while we’re on this topic, when Airtable generates an email saying that an Automation Run encountered an error – unless you click that email within about 1-2 minutes of receiving it – let’s say you open up the email like 1-2 days later, IT DOES NOT AUTO-SCROLL you to the location in the logs where the error took place … No! Instead, you’re left to have to manually scroll again through the logs to figure out where it was located. TL;DR: Automation Run logs suck; there’s no way to scroll or search them by time, keyword (sorely needed) We need Automation Run stats, in the form of graphs showing executions by day – split by Automation Name. This helps users not exceed Automation Run quotas.

Is there anyway we can get notifications to be more customized. For example, i want notifications for when I am tagged in a comment but I do not want them when there is just a general note. Currently the only way to do this is if we mark each data entry as “not watching”. While this is possible it is meticulous and repetitive Thanks Ron

It would be great to have an option to view comments you’ve made so you can easily track what comments you are waiting for a response on. It would also be great to have the option to flag or save important comments for later. This would be particularly helpful for my team as we have naturally moved away from email and towards using Airtable commenting features.

We do a lot of tagging others here at our company to comment on records. It would be nice to be able to have a super loud chime when someone tags you in a record. It’s hard to read 20-30 notifications and find the ones i’m tagged in rather than just “bill commented on…” when it doesn’t pertain to me anymore. I’m talking for the PC. I know that you can set it up for ios. Just maybe some better all around push notifications for PC?
