When managing an Airtable base and table, I generally create a number of “test” columns for various development purposes. These “test” columns are generally valid for a short period of time (like 1-2 weeks). Currently, I have to remember to delete these test columns after all testing is done, which gets tedious if I’m running multiple, parallel tests. I would love the ability to specify an OPTIONAL “expiration date/time” when creating a new column. Once that date/time elapses, Airtable would auto-delete the column (placing it in the trash). If I need to restore it, I could look in the trash, accordingly. Bonus points if Airtable could email me a notification that a column is about to be deleted (maybe like 4 hours before the expiration time).

Requiring coding in order to show anything in a timezone other than GMT is unnecessarily difficult and there should be an easy way to change the time zone on your profile so that all time-related fields will be reflected to each person in their time zone. For instance, if multiple contributors need to see a deadline they should see it in each of their own time zones. This seems to be a major design flaw since the main intention of this app is to make it easy to organize content and deadlines.

Hi folks not sure if this is the right category but, we have some colleagues we need to collaborate with in China and I was wondering if Airtable is accessible in China without having to use a VPN. Can anyone shed light on this? Thanks.

Is there a way I can have separate logins to my Airtable account. My two employers don’t want a cross over which has occurred when my second employer invited me to airtable.

We see Airtable horror stories like this one all the time: Restoring a Workspace Formulas Please help! I did the most idiotic thing you could imagine — I deleted my entire workspace! I have one base there that is my entire business. How can I retrieve it? I know that there are snapshots but how can I locate them when the workspace has been deleted? Please help… the tech support could take days to get back to me and I have clients to deal with. Please read that entire thread before responding here. Without reliable & consistent backups built into the Airtable platform that actually backup the entire database & entire workspace on a regularly consistent basis, Airtable really can’t be depended on for mission-critical business operations. Even the snapshot feature isn’t reliable, because it kicks in randomly whenever it chooses to do so. But if you accidentally delete an entire database or workspace, even the (unreliable) snapshot feature is no good. Please read that entire thread before responding here, because I go more into depth in that thread. In summary: Airtable really needs the ability to have full backups of full databases and full workspaces, and those backups need to be consistent, automatic, and reliable.

Hi, I like to invite external collaborators on my bases sometimes however I could see complaints from my external collaborators on getting Airtable marketing emails. I hope this option can be added if it is not avaliable. I know they can unsubscribe from the marketing emails themselves, but I rather my collaborators do not even get Airtalbe marketing emails after they accept my invite in the 1st place as they are not that tech savvy

Short version: Why can’t airtable enforce unique entries for record IDs? This is an important feature and not having it is screwing me up. Long version: Continuing to spend most of my time working around Airtable’s billing policy. I’ve got a table where users will create work chits indicating they’ve worked x volunteer hours doing whatever. I’ve got 20 chit approvers and I really can’t afford to pay for 20 more users who will only doing approvals a few times per year. So, I’ve got a field in the Chit table that concatenates a URL which is then used to generate a link that goes in an email to the approver. When the approver clicks the link, it opens a new form for a new Approved Chit table and prefills the inputs with the values from the corresponding Chit record. I was really hoping to use the autonumber from the chit table to populate the Record ID for the Chit Approval table. My plan was to turn on unique enforcement for the Chit Approval table. But just realized that this feature doesn’t exist. My thinking was that by requiring uniqueness on the Chit Approval table, I would ensure that each chit can only generate one chit approval record. I’m not sure how to work around this one. Any suggestions mightily appreciated. But tired of spending all my energies to work around billing policies and really wishing that there was some policy based on usage rather than number of users.

Subject says all. I have clients who have dozens of snapshots each day. Grouping them (at least per month or so) would be nice.
