In Airtable, I have tables with many columns – between 50 and 150 columns. Many people are modifying various fields in each record all the time. Let’s say you have 20 people simultaneously changing separate fields within a single record. Now, when I want to review revision history for a given record, I usually only want to see relevant changes to one single field/column for that record. Right now, I have to paginate and filter out changes for all extraneous fields/columns to find specific changes to one specific field/column. This process is really annoying. I’d like a way to either: Show just revisions to a specific field/column for a specific record OR At least some sort of filter mechanism in the revision history view of the record, in order to filter out irrelevant changes to other fields/columns that I’m not interested in OR If you are viewing the record details from a view that has specific fields/columns hidden in the view, then by definition, hide any changes pertaining to hidden fields/columns because they are not relevant for the user – in other words, if users want to see revision changes to specific fields/columns in a record, they would need to make sure those fields/columns are not hidden in the corresponding view. You could then create like a checkbox in the revision history view – something like: “ Hide Field Changes By View”. That way, it would be easy for users to switch between seeing all field/column changes versus seeing only field/column changes relevant to a particular view. ... View more

It would great if there was an option to lock either Collaborative or Personal Views. Right now the “Locked view” really only applies to collaboratives views. I have several views in my bases that I want to keep as Personal views but want to avoid accidently making changes, hence the need for a Locked option. What is the proposed idea/solution? When a user is completing a form there should be a restriction added that if the end date is before the start date it can't be submitted. How does is solve the user problems? It will ensure that those filling out the form are inputting the correct information. We should have an option to lock the positioning of the fields in a table in ALL views that are created. If you have a ton of fields and views in a table (say like 50 fields and 14 views), and you want to add/subtract fields to modify the data in it, it because very cumbersome to make sure the fields in each and every view are organized in the correct/logical order. Some tables don’t require the fields to be in unique/custom orders. It’d be nice to have an option/button that we can turn on/off for a table to force all fields in be placed in the same order. If you adjust the position of “Field 2” in “View 4”, then it’ll automatically update the position of Field 2 in the other 13 views in that table so you don’t have to manually drill into each view and drag Field 2 into the desired position. When I share an Airtable, I don’t want to put every information visible in the card but also I don’t to show every field in the expanded record. It would be great to have a middle ground where I could sensitive hide fields in the expanded record. What is the proposed idea/solution? Add additional timescales to the timeline views - particularly at the small end of the scale, for planning day-to-day tasks and single day events. Currently the smallest timescale is one day split into hours. We need 12 hour and ideally 6 hour timescales too, split into smaller chunks (ideally 5 min, but would be okay with 15).   How does is solve the user problems? Currently the timeline view is clunky and difficult when planning items with only an hour or two duration, and the view doesn't provide enough room for details to be written into the box. Adding smaller timescales would fix this problem with minimal additional work for the development team and a huge increase in usability at the smaller timescales.   How was this validated? Common sense and regular user frustration.   Who is the target audience? Anyone with a need to plan items/tasks/events over a smaller time scale using the timeline view. ... View more
