Just used the “org chart” app for the first time. It works fine, but it would be great to be able to group workers based on a field. Example: my CEO doesn’t only direct 2 managers (who have people under them who are nicely grouped), but also 15 consultants. That makes the width of the chart to big for comfort. It would be nice to be able to group some of them, based on a single select field for example (which we use to map their specialities). This actually might be a bug in Airtable, but I’d like to add it as a feature request: In Grid View, if your row height is set to “short”, you can hover over a “Long Text” field and Airtable will give you a tooltip with a preview of the full text. This is very helpful! See screenshot below. However, as soon as you change your row height to any other height besides “short”, these preview tooltips no longer activate anymore. Even if you still have unseen text in the long text field, Airtable won’t show you the preview tooltip anymore. I can customize kanban cards - only the title of the kanban card I can’t change. The title of a kanban card is always the primary field. Not a problem - the primary field is very flexible and can even be the result of a formula. I keep running into a situation, however, where I want to fine tune the calendar view, the kanban view and even the grid view. And one primary field as the only allowed source for the titles of kanban cards and calendar items is very limiting. Why shouldn’t it be possible to customize those titles? ... View more

Issue: It’s difficult to find the corresponding View for a Share View Link, especially in Bases with many Views that have Share View Links created. Solution: Make a utility to reverse lookup a View from a Shared View Link that would indicate the Base, Table, View. Thanks! ... View more

I’ve used Airtable for a long time and I wish it had these two simple features: Ability to reset filters/groups/sorting to a user-defined default for each view. That way I can play around but then reset to the defaults. Right now I just generate a view-only link for myself so I don’t mess up my view and refresh to get back to the default settings. It would be much better though if I could make changes in-base then either reset them or set them as the new default to lock them in. Ability to update all views when I change something. For example, if I add a new column and then resize the column then for all of my other views, that column will be tacked on to the end and will not be resized. It’s a lot of work to go through and fix that column in every view every time I want to make a minor change like resizing or adding a column. Often I just delete all of my views and recreate them, since it’s easier than manually updating them all. Anyone agree? Any workarounds that I’m not realizing? ... View more
