Here’s the real life problem I’m running into. We have an Airtable base to manage our marketing messages and marketing campaigns. Messages are linked to a campaign. Because our company has multiple brands, I want to limit the campaign record selection to those that have a matching brand to my message. Here’s my feature request: I would like to have the “Limit record selection to a view” to allow conditions based on the record I’m linking from and linking to. For example, If the {Brand} field in the Messages table equals {Brand} field in Campaigns table, show those records. I’ve recently migrated our organization’s entire product roadmap and planning infrastructure to Airtable. Overall we’re extremely happy with the product. One little thing that is absolutely driving me nuts is the limitation with the predefined zoom levels for the visual timeline view. If I’m interested in viewing only one year at a time, I have to use the 5-year preset to really be able to see everything with enough context for it to be digestible. I want to limit a view to a set # of records (10, for example), as requested here. Airtable defines views as: you can use views to show only specific fields or records, and apply other configurations to manage the information in that view Exactly: “show only specific fields or records”. This is basic functionality, included in all programming languages, and should be built natively into Airtable (in my humblest of opinions 🙂 ) without requiring an automation, or a script, or any “workaround”, as suggested in the link above. I have 15 different views in a single table and will duplicate the table 4 more times. In each table I just need to change one filter and it would be amazing if I could do a search through the views for a specific setting and change 1 single value, instead of having to go through 45 views and manually change it. ... Currently within a view if you delete a filter you then need to set the entire thing up again to get it back. It would be handy in many situations to be able to ‘pause’ a filter. This would allow a single view to hold various commonly used filters and you would be able to turn them off and on as you’d like, rather than having to set up entirely new views for each individual filter combination. ... Please consider adding the ability to change the standard icon next to each view. As well as create a group by view type option. For our use case having the ability to put our client’s logo next to the view that is filtered to their records would be so helpful for quick scan selection of the view we want to open. Also, we use views as processes that trigger integrated automation based on what view the record sits in. Being able to add some “stoplight” or process icons would be game-changing. ... View more
