What is the proposed idea/solution? ... A new feature that transposes the Rows and Columns of a View. How does is solve the user problems? ... It is useful to transpose the Rows and Columns of a Table for for viewing and / or calculations. In Airtable it is more efficient to create Records for time rather than Fields (e.g. each Row is a unit of Time like a Week, Month, Quarter, Year, etc. and not the column). The ability to see each unit of Time as a column moving from left to right is standard practice. How was this validated? ...This is a core feature to all spreadsheet applications. Who is the target audience? ...All Users

When we have a lot of fields on a table and many views, it becomes labour-intensive to manage. Often fields are related and we want to manage and display them as an ordered group in multiple views. An example might be the financial aspects of a product, where cost, price, sales volume, revenue, tax, and profit are related. A mechanism to manage them as a group in views would be a major efficiency win, and also increase consistency as the group is always displayed in the same order and with no field missing. Colour coding of the group would also be valuable for visual identification. Retaining the ability to manage them individually in addition to managing in a group would be very nice. The ability to add a field to multiple groups would be even nicer. Thank you for the great product

What is the proposed idea/solution? Allow users to add a new record on another table through a linked field, when inside a form. How does is solve the user problems? Currently, in a form a user can select a record from a linked field, but they cannot create a new record through that linked field. This would be very helpful for instances when a new record needs to be added and you want to give that ability to the user. How was this validated? Not sure what "How was this validated" means... I found the issue because I wanted to create a new record from inside of a form, but I didn't have the ability to. Who is the target audience? Form submitters

To whom it may concern, The recent development to all different dependency types and buffer for schedule dependencies in Timeline view is a great start to a long standing gap for schedule management with Airtable but there are still may improvements needed to make it more adoptable as follows: Make the attributes (Type and Buffer) part of the Date Dependencies configuration such that they are fields in Grid View, List View, etc. and not just accessed by clicking dependency line in Timeline view Update Gantt views to recognize the dependencies as valid Enable ability with Only Weekends (Mon-Fri) to allow specifically identified weekends as exceptions (Similar to how Holidays works to exclude but is an include) Enable ability to assign holidays to specific Users in the schedule (Currently we have a custom configuration which enables this capability but would be better if it is OOTB) Supporting Pics attached. Best Regards, Jason Knighten

2024 update: Even though Airtable eventually added this feature, all of this is possible in a MUCH easier & much more customizable way with Fillout’s advanced forms for Airtable. Fillout’s advanced forms for Airtable are 100% free and offers hundreds of features that Airtable’s native forms don’t offer, including the ability to conditionally hide fields on a form, update Airtable records from a form, display Airtable lookup fields & Airtable rollup fields & Airtable attachments & formulas on forms, dynamically & conditionally filter linked record fields by any values that you would like, perform math or other live calculations on your forms, accept payments on forms, create multi-page forms with conditional paths, create new linked records on a form, display as many fields as you want to see in a linked record selection list (including attachments), connect a single form to dozens of external apps simultaneously, limit the number of linked records that can be chosen, set advanced field validations & limitations, upload an unlimited amount of attachments simultaneously, add CAPTCHAs to your form, add choice matrixes to your forms, direct integration with hundreds of apps like Calendly & Google Maps on your forms, and so much more. ————- Old post from 2020: Not sure if this is a bug in Airtable or just a missing feature, but we really need this feature. Airtable needs the ability for us to have hidden fields on forms that will submit data upon form submission. Currently, Airtable doesn’t accept the values from any hidden fields. Here’s the situation: My clients are currently having difficulties with Airtable forms, because prefilling fileds on forms (using the “?prefill_fieldname=” syntax) only works if the fields that you’re prefilling are actually visible upon submitting. We’re trying to prefill hidden fields on the form that we’ve hidden using Airtable’s brand new conditional field feature for forms. So we’ve hidden a bunch of fields (using fake values that will always result in false). We’re forcing these fields to be hidden. These hidden fields actually get their prefilled values filled in correctly! How do we know this? Because if we type in the fake values to “show” these hidden fields again, the prefilled values are visible! The prefilled values are right there! But — the only way to get these values to be added into our Airtable database upon form submission is to keep the field visible. If the field is hidden, Airtable won’t submit the value into the base, which then defeats the purpose of having a hidden field to begin with. Thanks!

To get an overview for long-term project planning, a “Year view” in Calendar is needed. Gant charts aren’t usable for my usage case because every task needs to be on a different line. This way, information is scattered and I can’t get a decent overview. (If grouping items on a gant chart didn’t merge all of the different subitems into one big blurp but kept different tasks with their start and end dates on the same line… Yes, then it would be useful, then it would be great. - But that’s for a different feature request. Let’s stick to a Year option in Calendar view as for now. Easy to implement, so…)

i would like to be able to resize columns in a batch. this would be more broad than just auto-sizing (Auto column resizing by double clicking border b/w column headers) select-all and resize one column = all columns resize to match double-click column = resize to fit content (or title) select-all and set width = all columns resize to specified size etc.

It would be great if rich text formatting was available in the forms help text. I would be easier to emphasis important points about completing the form properly.

What is the proposed idea/solution? There is not currently an option to add a generic search bar to a custom interface page. The only option is to have different filter options How does is solve the user problems? It would give users the abilty to search multiple different fields without having to make sure they are typing matching text in the correct filter option How was this validated? User experience. The photo attatched shows the custom view that is being used, the reason I do not change it to the prefigured Kanaban view is because there is another view below it that I like having on the same page as the Kanaban view. Who is the target audience? Airtable users

What is the proposed idea/solution? Summary count of record comments should appear on record lines in a grid in an interface (just like it does when viewing a grid in the base). How does this solve the user problem? When viewing a grid on an interface, you will know which records have comments. How was this validated? See screenshot. Who is the target audience? All interface users
