I would love to be able to share a grid, kanban, calendar or gallery view where anybody could add a record even without an account. This would be very helpful in teaching to collect lots of information and interact with students. When you share a form view people can only add one record at a time and they can’t see other records. Let’s say I share a calendar view where students could add a time for them to present their work, a grid view where they could easily add literature references or a kanban view where they could brainstorm new ideas and rearrange them. I use Airtable with Ludus.one and it would be such a great way to interact with students doing class. So I would use this feature live with students to interact with them, but I would also do it when I needed to collect a lot of inputs from people I don’t work closely with. Perhaps embed an open feature request view on our website! You can look at Padlet for inspiration. It’s a very loved and used tool in education. I have a table with a {Product} field, which is a single linked record to the Products table. I wanted to also add the Product’s ID as a new field. But the RECORD_ID() formula doesn’t accept any arguments – it just outputs the current record’s ID. I’d like to be able to pass the {Product} field to that formula, rather than having to create a new field in the Products table which I then access via a new lookup field. It would be really helpful to be able to see non-input fields in a form, such as Lookups, Auto Number, Count, Rollup and Formula. I have a grid view of repair work which is private to me, but I have given links to form inputs to some third party contractors to log their work to my grid view. I can foresee a time in the future where there will be duplicates in the Name field. The Name field contains names of my customers. If I get two John Smith’s in my database, the contractor won’t know how to differentiate between the two of them. However, if I could bring in a Lookup field to the form view, the contractor would be able to see serial number and product name pertaining to the customer and verify that they had chosen the right one. Similarly, I use the Auto Number functionality for assigning Repair IDs. If the contractor could see the Repair ID at this point, they can keep logs for their own accounting purposes without me having to grant them access to the grid view. ... View more

The schemes could be use to open a view, a specific record, toggle a check box on a specific record. This is the only frustrating issue I have with Airtable for so many months still no fix. I believe the fix is so simple and yet no change yet. On the mobile app on iOS when I edit records, it shows all 450 fields I have in the table. I only have about 20 fields out of 450 that I am editing when creating or editing new record. All remaining 430 fields or so are calculated fields, automations, linked/lookup fields or concatenated fields. I have to scroll though all 450 fields on the mobile because the app doesn’t hide the hidden fields. Creating new exclusive view for mobile all doesn’t resolve the issue, it still shows 450 fields. The only way would be to mess my whole table structure and move all 20 fields to front of the table, create a 20-field custom view for my mobile app and then ignore the rest when editing on the mobile app. This approach doesn’t work. The field order has a certain logic. If I add a 21st visible field to the table, I would have to move it manually 450 steps to front of the table to make it visible in front. That’s because I can’t use the function to copy field order from another view if I setup a custom 20 field view for my mobile app. Really, Airtable, how long it takes to do such a very simple tweak on the mobile all.
