Page Designer: Convert Linked Record Fields to Plain Text

I LOVE the table function for Linked Records in Page Designer. However, to allow for a cleaner table, it would be great if we could choose to display linked records within a table as plain text, instead of the blue rectangle. I’m working around this by adding a formula field that displays the value of each linked record I want in the table, and pulling those fields instead of the linked record field in Page Designer. It’s kind of a pain and drives me crazy to have doubles of each field, but it works for now.

I am very glad Airtable has added options to the possibilities for prefilling forms, especially the ability to prefill linked records. However, it seems this functionality expects the record index string as the prefill query parameter. I’m happy to have someone point me to the right way to do this if I am mistaken, but if I am not, I would find it very useful to link records by record ID. This would make scenarios like this possible: enter the One part in a One to Many data relationship in a first form; redirect the first form to https://airtable.com/formForManyPart?prefil_link={record_id} on success; enter one Many part correctly linked to its One. Our exact usage scenario is to allow students to request resources for a project, with the ability to add the project to our DB first if it does not exist yet. Having that newly created project linked straightaway to the requested resources in the form would take away a lot of friction.

It would be great to link to other records in the comment section of records, in the same way we can reference collaborators using the @ feature. It could use the same @ function, or perhaps use # as a pre-cursor. For example, if I typed the following: Hey, @Jane Doe, you can find more details about that here: #Record Name Where the “#Record Name” links to the record in Airtable. Does that make sense?

My primary key differentiator of Airtable versus Google Sheet is the ability to upload attachments on the row. While images work well. Video attachment doesn’t play and requires downloading. It would be great to have this feature to at least have everything in Airtable available in term media viewing.

When I am searching for a linked record, I can only search if I know the first field (locked) for that table. However, when I start typing, I can see other fields listed in the options for each record that comes up. I’d like to search by those other fields, that will still get me to that linked record, not by just the first field. Example. Many of the linked records are listed like XMANS, XMAND, MANGS, UMIMG, UMIMA I can’t remember all of these codes, but I know what I am searching for - so if I typed something like “Ear Mite” it would show me possible linked records to choose from, of which I would select UMIMG. Hopefully that makes sense - will try to attach an image.

Would like to be able to back up each base from the airtable “home” page (from the base dropdown), rather than have to open each base to do it.

Hi, I would love the ability to download (print) my page designed block invoice on iOS/Android. Now i can only download it via desktop which is not my preferred way since i want to manage my day-to-day work on my phone where i like to download my invoices. A download link to each record would be great.

I’m trying to create a time sheet for my employees in airtable and one thing I wish I could do with the page designer is limit the records that are displayed within a linked record table is to limit the results to a view from the linked table, that way we can filter out old time sheet entries and only display ones from last week. There is an option to sort the data in the table, but no option to limit the data to a specific view. That would be helpful! Let me know if you agree!

Hi, When I create a form with an input of type “Link”, Instead of showing ALL possible records of the target table, It would be EXTREMELY useful to only display records from a specific view of the target table. For example I want my user to be able to link new records ONLY to records that are not already linked. This is a show stopper for me at the moment, because the target table has like 10000 records, while the set of acceptable link targets is only around 10 elements.

I am loving the Page Designer Block. For Destiny Search Project it is going to save us HOURS of work, and also give us forms that we have until now dreamed of being able to create easily. I have seen the request for an embed of blocks which I also would love and will be helpful (I just signed up for the beta) The next feature I would like to see is that when a Page is created in the Page Designer it has a Field in the record that is associated with it. This would be similar to how attachments work for pdf but would be a direct link to the page design for that specific record. In our use case we have set up an awesome form that we can give teams when they are dispatched on a search assignment, it includes team members, map, and information. Currently, though we have to open page designer, then find the right record in order to print. If it was embedded as part of the record it would be much more easily accessible. Again thanks for creating a tool that has been game changing in our organization and providing of services.
