Wondering if there’s a way for columns to appear/disappear or gray out depending on a column selection. For example:
I’m creating an inventory of fountain pens and inks. Some columns are specific to other answers. In this sample, the # of cartridges column is only relevant when “Cartridge” is selected under the Type column. Is there a way to gray it out or have it automatically display an answer?

Evernote used to have a product called evernote peek, where each note would be turned into a flash card that one could study (title is one side, note content on the other side).
It would be great if Airtable had a similar feature.
I keep a lot of bases that contain study/vocab material for languages, so this would be very useful for that.
I suppose I could also write a script to sync base notes to Anki…

It’s cool that you have a URL link feature and a formula field, but if you had a field that combined those, that would be awesome.
In my library, I’d like to have a field with the word “Check Out” and it being a dynamically generated link to the checkout form with the item prepopulated in the form. I can generate the url, but I can’t seem to embed it as a cleaner looking link.

There are tables that are used for quick data entry that are normally not updated very often (for example product brands). The linked table GUI allows to pick existing records from the brand table, or if you type new stuff and press enter a new record is created in the table. During massive and quick data entry this can be a problem as duplicate or incomplete records could be created. The idea is to have a “flag” at the table level that updates to that table can only be done from the actual table, and not from a linked record. It is a “data validation” feature really.

When in expanded view for a record, it would be handy to be able to show or hide a field by clicking its drop down arrow and selecting “Show Field” or “Hide Field” from the menu.

I was just thinking about Slack’s Slackbot, and it got me thinking:
Wouldn’t it would be awesome if we could let integrated apps act as virtual collaborators?
Just as we can notify people when they’re added a collaborator, imagine that instead of assigning a task in a field to Sarah in Design, I could assign it to Zapier and trigger a workflow.

I would love to be able to better navigate around my airtables. Simply adding these shortcuts would help greatly, the same as Excel does: Ctl-right, left, up and down would ideally move the cursor to the next record in the respective direction. At the moment these commands just move you to the edges of the table instead of the next record. If people disagree, I’d love to hear from you and how you navigate between records? Thanks!
