currently this appears to be not selectable. It does wipe out existing data in the field. I thought OK in the else condition just return self, or the same column that it is calculating, but this cannot be selected, yikes! In order to archive lookup or rollup data a formula can be used in a field which based on date copies the values to a numeric field. It is important that such a function retain existing data in the the field. Currently since on else clause erases existing data and there appears to be no way to reference the field we are defining there is not automated way to do this. The calendar picker is rendered fairly useless when you try to add a non local date such as a birth date. Yes, you can enter the date as text. But a date picker is less error prone. I suggest something like and arrow above and below the year in the calendar that would let you quickly spin forward or backward through the years. Might be worth while for the months also. The side to side arrows remain for primal months in the current year. Think about the date selection mechanism on iOS for inspiration : ) ... View more

I miss the option for the input form to define whether the new record will be added to the bottom (default) or to the top of the list. I love the group feature with its ability to collapse rows into a more manageable view. It makes dealing with large amounts of data so much easier. But right now, when we search for a record and it’s in a collapsed group, that group stays collapsed. It would be awesome if that group could expand automatically. If you could make a secondary date field visible on the calendar view’s sidebar it would make it a lot easier to use the drag and drop scheduling features. Even the example on the calendar view guide would need this functionality: https://support.airtable.com/hc/en-us/articles/216945218-Guide-to-calendar-view In this example there’s a “Date/Time Scheduled” field and a “Due Date” field.
