So i tested the Adress feature in the App Update. How come it only does the Link in a long text field? Why does this not work in a single line text field? Maybe i am doing something wrong.
The second question is, how can i use the formula field to add up Colums in wich the adress is broken down:
Column 1, is the street name
Column 2, is the street number
Colum 3, is the Zip
Colum 4, is the City
Id like to add them all up (i have tryed it with: Colum1 & " " & Colum2 … and so forth.
As a result id like the full adress that shows up in the maps app, once its clicked.
Regards, Patrick

I am trying to solve the following problem:
One table lists all our available products, another table lists projects/jobs in which our products were used and sold for. A rollup on the inventory table counts how many times each product was sold.
But here is the problem - in the project/job table I have an option column that allows me to list a job either as “bid” or as “actual sale”. A custom view in that project table allows me to easily view bids and sales, but the rollup in the inventory table counts both options, bids and sales.
Is there a way to tell the rollup to only count sales and ignore bids? That to me sounds like a pretty standard database function, but I cannot figure out how to do it in Airtable.
I am really grateful for any advice.

Here is a question: are there any plans to add some automation to Airtable? - like “if this box gets checked - the content of this row will get copied into the another table of the same base? I am trying to think of a solution for our scenario of jobs we are bidding on vs. actual jobs with money coming in. If we record the bids in one table, once we get the actual job, I’d like to move these entries over to another table that records actual jobs with money comping in.
I guess I could record both, bids and actual jobs, in one table and have 2 views for each scenario…
But nevertheless, some simple automation could be really helpful.
Thanks in advance.

It would be great if AirTable allowed us to set the text formatting for a column to - let’s say UPPER CASE when we configure the column. So all entries made in that column would automatically be turned into UPPER CASE. That would be similar to the phone numer formatting, only I’d like to be able to have options in the configuration window - let’s say set it to UPPER CASE, TITLE CASE or FREE FORM.
This would ensure formatting consistency among collaborators. I personally find Upper Case Entries easier to read - especially for the Name column. We can’t always count on other people to be consistent when it comes to these things.
Please keep up the excellent work! AirTable is amazing! And it’s getting better and better.

I’m currently maintaining dual contacts and calendar events, one set in Google, the other in Airtable. This isn’t ideal; if I make changes in the Google dataset I have to duplicate by hand in Airtable and vice versa. It would be far more useful, much less error prone to have Airtable sync with Google. Please, thank you.

This one might be a little bit “out there,” but I think that if it were possible it might address a number of requests for additional functions supported by Airtable’s Formula Fields…
I’m wondering if it might be possible support Formula Fields whose values are based on the result of some ad-hoc Javascript function. For example, the user might specify other Airtable fields as the Javascript function’s params, specify the JS function itself, and have the Formula Field’s value reflect the result.
It sounds like a lot of work, but if it were possible, it would expose Javascript’s functions to users, and reduce the need for Airtable to continually add support for new functions. It might also help to meet some of the needs that we’re seeing for localization.
Just a thought.

Currently, when you retrieve records through the API and specify a view, only those records that are visible through the view are returned, and they are returned in the order in which they are displayed. This is a noce feature, and I use it often.
It would also help if the API returned only the columns that are visible through the specified view. In other words, any hidden columns would be excluded from the result. I believe that this would help both in terms of security and performance.
