What is the proposed idea/solution? Allow users to add a new record on another table through a linked field, when inside a form. How does is solve the user problems? Currently, in a form a user can select a record from a linked field, but they cannot create a new record through that linked field. This would be very helpful for instances when a new record needs to be added and you want to give that ability to the user. How was this validated? Not sure what "How was this validated" means... In my testing of Airtable for use as a project management tool for my design firm, I have been very disappointed by the Notification options. It appears there are basically three events that trigger notifications: If someone @mentions you in the comments field. If you manually subscribe to notifications for a single record, you’ll receive notifications ONLY if/when someone comments. If a collaborator field is included in a table, you are notified when you are added to a record. I think that’s it. And that’s not nearly enough to be useful. Some basic notification features I would love: A. In addition to subscribing to updates on “comments”, I’d like to be able to manually subscribe/unsubscribe (both at the record and table level) to receive notifications of ANY changes/additions to ANY fields in a selected record (or selected table). B. If a user is selected in a collaborator field, he/she should receive notifications any time anything changes on that record. C. “Creators” should be notified any time structural changes are made to the Base (tables added/deleted, fields added/changed/deleted, etc). ... View more

The right column of the expanded view where the revision history and comments are shown needs some UX improvements. Currently I feel I cannot invite clients of ours to use the comments as means of communication, because this view is far too cluttered with irrelevant information of rev. history. It’d be great if I was able to only see comments, next to each other. Even better would be if I could actively toggle on to see the revision history. The tag line for your product is “looks like a spreadsheet, acts like a database”. That being the case, please consider that many people/companies will in fact want to replace most of their spreadsheet use with it! Which in turn expands your marketplace exponentially. BUT, in order to do that, you need to give us a folder hierarchy with simple detail views to manage the hundreds or thousands of bases we will have. Right now the huge icons in list view are IMHO rather silly if you want companies of any size (who will quickly have hundreds or thousands of bases) to be using this. Thanks for considering. ...
