We should have an option to lock the positioning of the fields in a table in ALL views that are created. If you have a ton of fields and views in a table (say like 50 fields and 14 views), and you want to add/subtract fields to modify the data in it, it because very cumbersome to make sure the fields in each and every view are organized in the correct/logical order. Some tables don’t require the fields to be in unique/custom orders. It’d be nice to have an option/button that we can turn on/off for a table to force all fields in be placed in the same order. If you adjust the position of “Field 2” in “View 4”, then it’ll automatically update the position of Field 2 in the other 13 views in that table so you don’t have to manually drill into each view and drag Field 2 into the desired position. As tables generate tons of fields/data, this feature would really come in handy and save alot of time.

The interface module doesn’t seem to currently have the capability of adding / deleting a record. I would suggest maybe having a new type of element (Button) that could be added to the interface (i.e. button that could be settup to create record in xyz table, with maybe a popup requesting selected fields to be filled and then positionning to current record being edited)

When I import data for event registration, several of our data columns contain single select responses. Right now, I have to change each column’s field type from text to single select individually. When there are 30+ datasets to be changed, that takes a while! It would be lovely if I could select all of the columns that need to be changed, and set all their field types at once (in this case to single select).

My request for improving the URL field is three-fold:
Hyperlinks: ability to clean up links and hyperlink them with the text you want to appear.
Custom Icons/Favicons: ability to add custom thumbnails/icons/favicons based on where the URL points (document file type, website, blog, folder, social media accounts, video, etc.). It would be cool to have a uniform library to choose from like when setting up a base, as well as include popular sites, brands, file types.
Multiples: Allow for multiple URL’s in a single field (if I’m tracking my client’s important URLs, it would be nice to include more than one (website, file repository, lead forms, product page, social media accounts, etc.).
Mainly these are for aesthetic purposes but it also improves/quickens visual identification. This would especially look good if being displayed in Gallery view, or if you add it to the Page Designer block.

I’d like to request support for BC dates, or “negative” years. The Timeline Block is willing to display “negative” years, and I think it would be neat to be able to build a History Timeline in Airtable that could span back into Ancient, BC history. Sadly, the furthest back I can get is a “year 0”.
And even the Date Picker on the Date field is willing to scroll backwards into negative years, but then when a date is selected, it inputs it as the positive inverse year:
I’ve been fiddling with DATETIME_PARSE() formulas and can’t seem to get anything to produce a “negative” year output.
Would love to see support for this, even if the use-cases are rather narrow :slightly_smiling_face:

Use case:
Table with date field let’s call it DueDate
computed field week (WEEK(DueDate)) or month (MONTH(DueDate))
group by computed week or month field
adding of record is not possible (If you group by computed field you can not add a record."
There are many important use-cases where a grouping by a computed field is necessary and adding records in those views is important - even if it would be just “completely new record on top”

I have been working with Airtable for only a short time - with a view to building solutions for clients. One of the things that worries me is how easy it is to delete a record - simply right click and delete and it’s gone.
In my view there should at least be an Are you sure message - or the increasingly common requirement to type something like “Delete this record” into a dialog box.
It may be that a table option should be provided to allow a choice for the creator.

Org charts are immensely useful, especially for recreating sitemaps such as in my use case. It would also be immensely useful to be able to share/embed the block without having to share the entire table, but in the meantime an “Export to PDF” option should do it. Also useful for exporting to PDF: a toggle to expand all records multiple “secondary” fields, in the same way Kanban views work.

The Airtable Electron app—like many others, but not all (see Slite’s app)—lacks support for checking spelling errors as you type. Look, I’m gunna level with you… I suck at spelling. I think it would be an quick and easy feature to add the ability to download photo attachments from the app and save to camera roll. Yes, there is save to dropbox, but in the interest of doing a download in minimum amt of steps, save to camera roll is fastest.
Opening up the photo in safari to save to camera roll is too many steps. Also, I can’t use share to facebook because I am often commenting within a specific thread, so it’s easier for me to attach a photo from my camera roll while I’m replying to the comment.
