I'm excited to use the external calendar feature (described here) to bring my Airtable data into my other scheduling tools. I understand that each record's primary field will be shown as the event titles, but for this to be really useful, I'd like to be able to specify additional fields to map to the other properties in the iCalendar VEVENT spec (here), such as the location and the description. It would be nice to use a different field for the event title as well, since the primary field is used so heavily elsewhere in Airtable. It seems that if I want to use a custom format for my Date field, I need to create a Formula field and use DATE_FORMAT(). Would it be preferable in most cases to offer a 'Custom' option in the 'Date format' menu in a Date field's settings? (see attachment) This would then show a text field where one could input the same formatting string one would give DATE_FORMAT(). Not all tables' first column is important, especially for tables that mainly connect between linked records. What is the proposed idea/solution? The proposed idea is to show different record details templates within the same interface list depending on specific record criteria, such as a single-select field. For example, if one record's status is "Order in Backlog," when clicked the record detail template would be different than another record with the status "Delivered."  How does is solve the user problems? This would allow for fewer interface lists. In other words, we could collapse multiple lists into a single list without losing the benefit of unique record-detail templates associated with multiple lists. Problem: Sorting a select field puts blanks at the top.  Often, we want blanks to sort at bottom. Suggested Solution: Sort the select field in descending order in the view.  That puts blanks at bottom.  However, then your select values are in reverse order.  If you could sort the select field options (in the field) in descending order then all would be good in the world:  blanks would be at the bottom and options would be at the top sorted in ascending order. Implementation: Best part, implementation is super easy.  Currently you can only sort options in a select field in ascending order.  Just enable clicking on the sort icon to toggle between ascending and descending sort of options in select/multi-select fields. ... What is the proposed idea/solution? When a user is completing a form there should be a restriction added that if the end date is before the start date it can't be submitted.
