Hi! I discover AirTable and It’s quite so huge the learning curve - I guess I know master 0.4% of the total capacities of the tool… I don’t know if this was implemented, but it could be nice to be able to access, in a read-only mode of course, to a shared AirTable Database where you could see through various tables the functionalities and use-cases where you can use this tool. You have also attachments so you can include within a particular functionality an attached documentation with all the details. I think about by instance describing all the functions you can use. I assume there could be a kind of table in the Universe, it’s just that I don’t know where to search. Thank you!
Else, I’m sorry to let you inform that I would use the free version, as I would have been happy to pay $10/month to have access to the block functionality, but 20/month, with all the monthly 300+ expenses I have to face for my digital presence, I have to make choices. So as long the block functionality is not accessible for this price, I’m going to use other tools to complement my digital experience. But anyway, great tool, I just hope I could rely on the data I share in there, as it contain sensible data, so I would be worried if lost or stolen.
Thank you have a great week

Something I found that would be really helpful with tracking down conditional color triggers would be to have the ability to click the color to see which condition is triggering the color. I have a large table where we have a lot of conditions that if anything is incorrect it is Red and if everything is good it is Green. Sometimes it takes a while to track down what issue is causing the Red.

Currently, when you delete a field, it breaks any formulas that referred to that field. When the user views the broken formula, the field name is replaced by a non-human-readable string.
Thanks to the scripting API, we can now see that the non-human-readable string in the broken formula is a concatenation of a literal string and the field id of the deleted field
"column_value_" & fieldIdOfDeletedField
I suggest that the string also concatenate the name of the deleted field
"column_value_" &
fieldIdOfDeletedField &
"_" &
ENCODE_URL_COMPONENT(fieldNameOfDeletedField)
This would make fixing broken formulas much easier because the user could see what the original formula was.
The scripting API shows that the field definition for a formula field stores an array of referencedFieldIds. Could that array also somehow store referencedFieldNames? After all, the field definition for a multipleRecordLinks stores both ids and names.
And now for an example …
Say the field {dog age in human year} had the formula {dog age in calendar years} * 7
If the field {dog age in calendar years} is deleted, the broken formula now looks like {column_value_fldFRA5nV1QBtrtLi} * 7
I would like the broken formula to look like
{column_value_fldFRA5nV1QBtrtLi_dog+age+in+calendar+years} * 7
or {column_value_fldFRA5nV1QBtrtLi_dog%20age%20in%20calendar%20years} * 7
By the way, for all you dog lovers out there, I know this formula is not really accurate. I am just using it to illustrate a point.

We have many users to use one common table. So, if Airtable launches a new feature about permission on each view, please launch it for us. I think it’s very useful.
Thank you

Is it possible to restrict sharing, exporting, etc of a base for collaborators? This would be similar to the google docs functionality that restricts sharing/exports/printing of certain documents. If not to restrict, could it be possible for admins to receive an alert when link sharing is enabled or when a base is downloaded?

Would be great to expand on this Block by allowing additional columns to be included from the view.

Hello,
I love Airtable and can’t be thankful enough for the amazing product.
However, I would be happy if some of the things were implemented. It feels very unorganized when you have multiple views.
First, I think separator or some sort of grouping would make it much cleaner and easier to understand.
Secondly, I think “Add a view” section is too big. It feels like it’s aimed for new users but it always draws me to create a new view even if I don’t need one. Most of the time we are interacting with pre-existing views rather than creating a new view. So, I don’t think it should be getting that much focus. Instead, the focus should be on pre-existing views. Something like this can be done as shown in the attached image. This also gives extra room for additional views. The options pops up when we click “Add a new view” button. The new users should easily get hang of it within the few minutes of using airtable.
Third, it’s a minor thing but may be the search icon should align with the icons of the views.
Thank you.

I’d like to be able to filter for date fields when it is/is not empty. That option doesn’t currently exist in my filter drop-downs.

The ability for cards to show different fields depending on their status. If the cards represent tasks, it is natural for tasks of different statuses to have different information that is relevant.
