I’ve seen this has been requested for a long time now, but those feature haven't still seen the light.

My team struggles a lot for the current interface limitations:

  • Not being able to see the full text entered in a cell. This happens both in table and lists views. There is no current solution for this, unless people manually open the record, which is not always the possible solution when you're reviewing big tables that are text-intensive
  • No font colors: this is something I do not understand. Why it is not possible to have font colors? There are rich text fields, with headings, bold, italics… You can event set a link that will color the text in blue. But no way to change the font color.

Those limitations are embarassing when we look at how many powerful things we can do with Airtable.

It would be great to hear from the Airtable team about those features, at least knowing if this is something that is being considered since I see there are three years old posts in the forum asking for it.

Hey @AlessandroViola!

Two comments on that matter.
1. Maybe to complex for the basic need that you have, but you might want to explore custom interfaces. I just explained -at a high level- how to create those on this other post.
2. You might want to submit this as a feature request using this form!

+1. Lack of font colors has never made any sense to me. They added some conditional font colors to Interfaces last year but it’s extremely limited; I think it currnetly only supports number fields.

Yes, these are some great feature requests. Be sure to add your feedback on this to the product feedback page.

Also, this is definitely NOT an ideal solution, but if you want to pay extra money to get these features, a few of the 3rd-party Airtable portals offer these features.

Again, this is totally NOT ideal because (1) it would cost extra money and (2) it would require setting up your interfaces in an external app, but I thought I should mention it just in case.

The most popular 3rd-party portals that are currently available for Airtable are:
Zite, NolocoJetAdminSoftrPoryGlide, and MiniExtensions.

I gave an entire one-hour webinar on Noloco called Building a Client Portal on Noloco powered by Airtable.
