You know, I may be too obsessive, but it would be so nice to be able to set the width of the columns to a certain amount of pixels, for example, so all of them or selected ones only may have exactly the same width. I love to have things vissualy balanced, so I constantly find myself adjusting the width of the columns just by looking and it’s very frustrating sometimes. Thank you :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:

I have created a table with multiple data points. I use the same table to collect different survey data from two sources. Two separate websites, two separate forms, but consolidated survey information into one table. How can I determine which site the data was entered in as it populates the table from both places.

It would be lovely to have a localization option for the menu language. At least a language-settings file for menu conversion and making it open-source would work. Also community can create lot of language files without any development cost for airtable dev. team.(like wordpress).

Please make the Expanded Record match the View in use. I use Airtable as a Project Management tool and we use the Expanded Record heavily. Its clunky right now with all the extra fields in there that don’t need to be seen. For us it really keeps us from being able to use Airtable to its full potential. I need to be able to get new people up and running quickly. Currently I have to explain which fields to ignore, etc. It’s just not clean and easy like the rest of your program. I’m trying to think like you here and I figure the least amount of work for Airtable team would be to simply match the Expanded Record with whatever the current View shows. This would solve my issue and for many others who have raised this. It would be continuing your great vision of having Views, which is really the most outstanding feature in Airtable. In an even better world you would have functionality to edit the Expanded Record in any way the user sees fit. But that can get complicated and might even take aw

Please give us an arrow to the left of the team that we can use to collapse all of the bases. I’ve got so many teams, and finding a specific base is becoming tedious.

It would be helpful to sort a table by last name, when you have a single field for the whole name. I envision this being a check option when you choose sort options. Presently, when you choose the option “Sort”, you get the option to sort A->Z or Z->A. I am thinking that there would be a line immediately below those two buttons that would show up (only when the sort field was a single-line text field?) that would offer: “First, Middle, Last”, “Last, First, Middle”, “Last, Middle, First”. This option would be very useful for names, but would have applications for other uses, I imagine. There is a prior topic that is similar, that suggests adding a special field type for names.

Please develop a native Airtable bot for Slack. My team would kill to be able to address Airtable via @airtable and /airtable! There are many use cases, I have no doubt. And thus, bots may need to be configured per channel. But presentation of Airtable views/UIs within Slack, would be MAJOR. Our specific needs include: The ability to request an in-line Airtable form (iframe), complete with database-driven drop-downs. The ability to search a given base/view/field for a text string, returning the full record. Ability to request state-change reports for a given period, eliminating the need for Airtable’s currently rather shotgun/spammy use of a single channel (nearly always muted). Scheduled updates per channel/view. Just like Google Calendar can update our team of the week’s events at a given time, we’d like Airtable to update us of the records in a given view on a specific schedule. It would be great if the base creator could in some way limit the fields that were able to have a linked record added to them, either by: A) Adding filters to the linked record field dropdown or more realistically B) Having a dropdown in the field options that limited the View that the linked records have to be chosen from. For example, imagine I have a base with a table in it called Products. In here are a load of unique products. Imagine that 100 are marked In Stock, and 400 are marked Sold. I have a filter on this view called ‘Available Products’ that filters on just the In Stock products. Now imagine I have another table called Orders, where I take customer information and link to the desired product record. If I could limit the linked records to the ‘Available Products’ view of the Products table, it would ensure orders weren’t being put against items that had sold.

We use formulas to generate emoji “flags” per record. But they’re REALLY small. In emoji-only fields, I’d love for the type-scale to be increased by at least 125%. Max out that cell, when it’s an “image”! Thank you.

I use mainly the gallery view for my bases for our actor database where we have their headshots. Most of the headshots photos are profile, not landscape, so in the gallery view, a lot of their faces get cut off in their photos. It would be great if we could either customize the height of the gallery view thumbnail or re-position the photo in the thumbnail container.

Hi, I guess this is not possible then let’s make this a request. I would like to link tables using any other than the primary field. Real life example using Airtable as a special, small biz CRM: table 1: customer database, customer account number is primary field, other fields like email table 2: orders, linking to customers via account number table 3: form submissions running in from a web form, customers don’t use their account numbers of course (mostly even don’t/need to know them). I know would want to query the customer DB using the email field to see if there’s an account for that email and then link it, If it’s possible it would be great but it doesn’t look like. I can imagine seveal other cases for this. Cheers, Frank

It would be great if you could add some options to make card views easier to print/save to pdf. Right now if you try to print the card view the cards will be split over several pages or something like that. Just the feature of having the cards adapt to the page and the option of choosing how many cards to print per page would make the card view much more powerful. This would essentially be a super easy to use merge for business cards, name tags, address cards, flash cards, bios, product info etc.

I’d like to have the ability to create a view based on records created or modified on a certain date. Specifically I’d like to create views for records created today and yesterday, as well as the ability to view records created on a specific date. Right now I can’t figure out how to create a view based on a relative date.

The use of views is obviously a crucial and powerful aspect to airtable but it can very quickly get bloated, especially when a base is being shared amongst a team. My first thought is to have “private views” or “user view”, which I think reflects airtable’s goal of creating a tool that allows users to define their own tool. Within a certain table I may want to save multiple views that are really only relevant to what I want to see, and there’s no need to a) clutter up the views list for everybody and b) allow anyone else to see or edit these views. This would also solve some of the requests regarding granular permissions for views. For the public views, I still think it would be great to have a way to save the settings of a view so multiple people can use the view without changing it. For instance, if there is a view that just shows all the records, if somebody on the team starts filtering things, and doesn’t remove the filters, the next person who selects that view will see all the fi

Right now, forms allow you to add a new record. However, I wish for the possibility of editing a record via a form as well. It would probably require the first question to select the record in question using the primary field, then filling or editing the fields that are available as questions. I think this would be useful for many situations where you need users to interact with your base but you don’t want to provide actual base access. For example, if a table on your base consists of staff members and you need them to upload a relevant document. However, the base contains sensitive information about other staff and you don’t want it to be seen by everyone.

I would like to receive emails (form submissions mostly) from my personal bases to my personal email address, and from work’s team bases to my work’s email :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:

I’d like to have more control what data is presented in the Linked Table field instead of only showing the first three fields as well as being able to filter inside this field. For example if I’m linking to a Deals table, I want to be able to show Deals filtered by their stage in the pipeline (Kanban view) and not by date or alphabet (not sure how they’re organised by default) or Tasks by Date then Priority. I noticed that the apps screen for Android has had a makeover from a large box (like Linked Fields in Expanded View) to a more row based look - I’d love to see the same in the Expanded View when it comes to the Linked Table field. With this view, you can see more linked records.

Hi guys, As far as I can tell, the snapshot logic works by looking at the amount of transitions. This is not really helpful when there are minimal, but potentially significant mutations over longer periods of time. Example: a client adds and changes a couple of records every couple of days. He accidentally deletes something and sees that the last auto-snapshot is from a couple of days ago, created before the last mutations. I think it’s wise to create at least one snapshot a day if there are changes at all. Airtable is external memory and to think back and come up with what you’ve done a couple of days ago can be pretty hard, if not impossible. Thanks for listening!

I would like to have the ability to add a description for each tab. People do this in excel by creating a row/ column and merging them all and just adding text. Sometimes I need to explain a lot of stuff to my folks and the base description isn’t cutting it.

Please add better default display options to Kanban cards. The current options are very limited, and the default display makes terrible use of space. This is specially applicable to Task based cards with no image or attachment associated. For example, my default display can only displays 2-3 words in the card title (see image below). This makes it very hard to have a broad view of tasks without having to click on each one individually. By contrast, Target Process resolves this by wrapping titles and making better use of space (see image below). IMHO this is major limitation of the Kanban view that largely renders it useless.

It would be great to have the ability to have the facility to cascade / filter Select Fields - here’s a typical use case in CRM: Against an opportunity / deal you enter a company (from the Companies table) Once the company is entered the Contact field is now filtered to only show Contacts in the selected Company Of course, if no company were entered it would be ideal to show all Contacts records in the dropdown.

It would be great to flag a field for word wrap in the grid view like in Excel. Similarly it would be nice to be able to wrap column headers to 2 or 3 lines. I quickly run out of horizontal space and then have to scroll.

It might seem a detail but it would be great if the currency format could add a symbol before (as it does now) AND after the number. That would give the possibility to format a column whith any unit we want : hours, meters, products, etc. More advanced change would be a special format for time, in order to make additions with seconds, days or frames, for example.

After months since first requests for support of a decimal comma (3,14 instead of 3.14) have appeared here nothing has changed in Airtable. That’s a pity. Instead we’ve got a new field type and a new design. A new field type is nice - but it does not make Airtable more usable to many, many potential users in Europe. I won’t be able to entice anyone of my customers to use Airtable as long as their clerks and office workers cannot use their native number format. Even simple applications cannot be moved from Excel to Airtable without regional input and output formats. I cannot imagine how much revenue will not be generated due to this lack of basic international functionality. It’s so basic, even, that the iPad/iPhone versions of Airtable have it - but the online and desktop versions are lacking it (at least for the decimal comma). Please, Airtable team, provide all the basic formatting options relevant in most parts of the world outside the US. You’ve created a great tool - but all its c
