It would be good if lookup fields were available to put in a form. I understand why you’ve left them out - they can’t be filled in - but sometimes they provide information that is necessary to fill in other fields.

I’d love to use this to create/manage a book that has a lot of listings. I don’t see a way to export the fields into a text (not CSV) document, either into Word or a generic .txt. Would love to see that.

I suggest you add the ability to lookup the data in a single record from a form, for any user who is logged in and has access to that record’s data. Then, it would prefill into the other fields of the form and can be reviewed, edited etc. For instance, if I have a table of users, I could use the first field to search for the user I want, and then his/her phone number, address etc. would pop into the other fields, and I could review and change if necessary.

The ability to create list columns is fantastic, and it drastically cuts down on the need for supporting tables that are just used to populate drop-downs. It would be great to be able to create a list that can be used for multiple columns.

I can add attachments from iCloud Drive through the website, however I can not attached items from iCloud Drive on iOS. Is it possible to allow the iOS document picker to be accessed through attachments?

I would like the drag-n-drop attachment process to by-pass filepicker.io. My company blocks this web service do to NSFW classicication.

I.e. change the order of entries in the Views drop-down menu. Use rationale: the views get added and deleted all the time, new ones always get appended to the bottom of the list, whereas logic and reason may call for another ordering.

Hi, new user so apologies if this is obvious (though I did read through the tutorial and search around FAQs/forums…) Is there a way to have sub-categories within one sheet? For example, on a Task Management sheet, I would like to be able to have “hiring people” and “contacting people” etc. as sub categories-- they’re not (yet) big enough categories to warrant having separate Tables-- I’d just like to be able to see them on this one table.

I would like to use Airtable to browse through my inventory with clients. When I do that I would like a much simpler look than when I use it as a database tool. Say I’m running a furniture store and my client wants to see what we have available that’s not on view (he’s looking for a table). I would then go into a customer view window and search for tables and get a list of available tables. Instead of him seeing what I see when I work in Airtable I would like him to see a predefined view where some parts are hidden and when I click an item it pops up a fact sheet with a beautiful picture and relevant information underneath.

You have by far the best database offering IMO. However, what I really need to justify the move away from a spreadsheet is the ability to use data from one database along with some calculations to try and solve an allocation problem. Eg. I have a set of assets that have various characteristics. I get a request for an asset of a particular type. With a spreadsheet on Google Sheets I can select that request and my assets get scored according to their suitability for this particular request. Then display that list and choose from it to allocate an asset. An ability to do that within Airtable or via an easily linked platform would be essential to any spreadsheet replacement database. Hi, First of all, I’m having a Great experience using Airtable. No doubt for me, it’s a Great solution. Sure there’re rooms for improvement and plenty of functionalities to create. One of them would be to have a MAX and MIN function for strings. My use case is 2 linked tables, Master and Details. I need to have a RollUp column in Master that refers to a MAX(value) of a string column in Detail. Any other ways I can achieve that? Keep the good work, Cheers, Berni

For most content, I like to have all the text visible, but I don’t want the column to be any wider than it needs to be. Excel lets users auto-size columns (and rows) so that they’re just wide (or tall) enough to fit all their content. The Excel shortcut for this useful feature is to double-click the right edge of the column header.

How can I see in the main menu that the base with a “Shared view via Private link”? It would be better if there are any mark or sign on the base’s icon.

For better or for worse, I often have information in one table that I need to transfer to another table. Usually, the two tables have some fields in common, but some unique fields; which means Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V does a column-wise copy of the date, when, in fact, the columns usually don’t match. What does match, however, are the field names. “First Name” = “First Name”, “Last Name” = “Last Name”, etc. I’d love to have an optional copy that ignores columns and matches field names when copying the data. Any fields that don’t match don’t get copied.

I’d like the ability to re-order attachments. I’ve got a people table where I store relevant contact info, and at a conference, I’ve been taking photos of business cards as well as the faces of the folks I meet. If I take their photo first and the business card second, the image that shows up in the collapsed view on iOS is the business card image. I’d like to be able to re-order the attachments inside the field to be able to always see the face of the person rather than any of the other attachments that might live in the field.

I would be helpful if a list of values could be imported or pasted into a Select field rather than having to input each item separately. i.e States

So i tested the Adress feature in the App Update. How come it only does the Link in a long text field? Why does this not work in a single line text field? Maybe i am doing something wrong. The second question is, how can i use the formula field to add up Colums in wich the adress is broken down: Column 1, is the street name Column 2, is the street number Colum 3, is the Zip Colum 4, is the City Id like to add them all up (i have tryed it with: Colum1 & " " & Colum2 … and so forth. As a result id like the full adress that shows up in the maps app, once its clicked. Regards, Patrick

Here is a question: are there any plans to add some automation to Airtable? - like “if this box gets checked - the content of this row will get copied into the another table of the same base? I am trying to think of a solution for our scenario of jobs we are bidding on vs. actual jobs with money coming in. If we record the bids in one table, once we get the actual job, I’d like to move these entries over to another table that records actual jobs with money comping in. I guess I could record both, bids and actual jobs, in one table and have 2 views for each scenario… But nevertheless, some simple automation could be really helpful. Thanks in advance.
