What is the proposed idea/solution?Duplicate multiple rows at a time. Just like the right-click option for a single row:How does is solve the user problems?Compared to duplicating each row individually, selecting multiple rows and then duplicating them all at once saves time.How was this validated?There is currently no option to duplicate multiple rows at once.Who is the target audience?Anyone who edits Airtable tables.

Since the DATE field/column in any Airtable has a timestamp option, it would be helpful if the conditions allowed for the TIME to be inluded and not just the date.For example... If DATE is BEFORE NOW then xyz happens. Either on a Filter Condition or Color Condition. We are using this to track when things have past a deadline there is no way to currently do this. We want the Color Condition to be that the row is tagged RED, when the DATE- IS BEFORE - NOW (this very minute for example) however the closest we can choose is today. If we had something due at 2PM there's now way to track using your dropdown features. Please consider making this update.

Hi all - this is somewhat of a repeat topic, but the original post wasn’t under feature requests and has not yet been addressed.When embedding a view that is grouped, every group is expanded regardless of how the view is configured prior to embedding it. It would be great to be able to preserve the configuration when embedding.Use case: I embed several views on our company intranet with files to download. I have several different “packets” of files that I want employees to be able to see at a glance, instead of having to scroll past each group that they don’t need.What I want the embedded view to look like:vs. What it actually looks like:

When grouping records, we should be able to sort the groups by those little “summary fields” instead of ONLY being able to sort by the grouped field itself. In other words, we could group our records by PROJECT NAME, but then sort the groups based on whichever group has the “newest date” or whichever group has the “highest total dollar amount” or whichever group has the “largest number of projects” or whatever. We can already choose all of these options by clicking on those little “summary fields” which appear in the group headers — but we’re not able to sort on those “summary fields”. So we’re allowed to display these “summary” options onscreen, but we’re not allowed to sort by them.

For the card layout in the grid view, you can’t control which fields display or how much width they take up. I am working on an interface design where I have a long text field which gets cut off after a few words, one field that isn’t necessary to display, and a ton of white space which could be used to display more text.It would be very useful to be able to control the width of the fields and which fields are shown (like with kanban cards). This affects sharing a grid view with the card layout turned on, how linked records display in the full record view, and in the interface view.

When sending out records from Airtable, it would be great if I didn’t have to type in the email to send the record/s to. If I have the contact email stored in my table or base, why can’t AT pull that list of emails for me?

What is the proposed idea/solution?Create an endpoint to list all automations created under a base.How does is solve the user problems?This would assist drastically with auditing what automations are enabled, where they are, and what they speak to externally (if scripts have been implemented to send data to external webhooks). Currently there is no way to get this information without going into each base individually and auditing each automation.How was this validated?No publicly-accessible endpoint exists to facilitate this functionality.Who is the target audience?Admins interested in keeping track of what exactly is happening in their environment.

We currently have multiple interfaces designed around bases that serve different purposes, however as they are all used by the same organization, it would be beneficial to be able to access all / specific interfaces from one place. This would definitely help users who are unfamiliar with Airtable and struggle to find the intended interface via the Home screen.The Home screen is obviously designed to do this by starring items, however there is always a lot of white noise. Starring items somewhat helps to move preferred items to the top, but not in the case where multiple bases / interfaces need to be starred.The idea here should be to allow creation of a basic 'home' interface that allows interfaces to be displayed for quick easy access.I would love to know if this feature is on the cards for the future, or if there is a specific reason that this is not possible (i.e. interfaces from different bases can't be combined because XYZ). IT seems like a basic function that is currently missing

What is the proposed idea/solution?Allow for Gannt charts to be created in interfaces. How does is solve the user problems?Allows me to utilize interface functionality while displaying project timelines and dependancies to stakeholders. How was this validated?...Who is the target audience?Anyone whom we want to interfaces vs the data tables.  

Hi!Fighting with third party services that have limits on executions that are limited to 1 per seconds or something like that?I'm fighting this inconvenience that i'm creating queues with data...Just wondering if it make sense that Automations have a property that set that only 1 automation can run at time and another property that set the delay in seconds between automations.That could help people to avoid creating queues and perhaps you gays, perform a more efficient computing usage.Regards Airable lovers!

Added this as a comment to the Record Templates announcement but also wanted to add a new thread.I'm trying to build out a new workflow where team members can create new records in one table via a Linked Record field in a different table. When you click the " + Create a new record" option at the bottom of the Link Record dialog, you get the new record as an expanded record showing the fields visible in the very top view of the table.I'd love for the top right options menu (below) to have an "Apply template" option somewhere so I can more seamlessly create new records using existing templates, rather than having to click out of the expanded view, navigate to the table the new record is located in, and apply the template there. A little paint bucket between the link and comment icons... pretty please...Not make-or-break, as it's ultimately a small thing, but it would make for a much more seamless experience overall, imo.Thanks! 

What is the proposed idea/solution?Increase the functionality of the new form builder so that when the form is submitted the user is redirected to another URL.How does is solve the user problems?We use this on our new website to redirect the user to a form submitted page so that we can track conversations in Google Analytics.How was this validated?Greater control over where a user is directed post form submission.Who is the target audience?Web dev's and website users.

Units for numer fields Plain number fields can be highly ambiguous at times. E.g. does “width” mean widht in mm, or in inch? When working in teams on the data, users entering data in the US might be more comfortable entering inch and users in europe would prefer cm. This could be fixed by creating field types for length, area, volume etc. But this would lead to a whole host of field-types and would make it harder to extend further when incorperating more exotic cases like electrical current, temperature or units of time. I would suggest to extend the number field time with an optional parameter to set it’s unit. User Input Conversion The Default unit is the used for by the API to return entered value. When entering a Value in a different Unit it should automatically converted. The JSON output should still be a simple number. The API-Documentation should be extended to show information about the returned unit. Mixed unit inputs like 6"2’ should automatically be turned into a decimal va

It would be really nice if I could select two (or more) records with the checkboxes on my grid view and have a Merge Records option on the context menu that shows up when I right-click. Clicking Merge would take me right to the “Resolve duplicate records” window of the Dedupe block, skipping the part where I have to select which table, view and fields I want to use in order to find duplicates. I want to be able to find duplicates on the fly and merge them as I happen to notice them, instead of it being a whole separate task that I do in batches because it’s too cumbersome to do for just a couple records.

The current grid view summarisation options are great, but we need the summaries to calculate the combined values when using formula fields.E.g. Each record calculates a % using two number fields. The summarisation doesn't give the total combined % but rather a sum, average, or another inappropriate function.

What is the proposed idea/solution?An enhancement to the record selector that pops up in an Interface when you click on a Field element for a linked record. Currently it allows you to filter and select one option. I would like the ability to filter and select multiple options, eg by holding down the shift key.How does is solve the user problems?Linked Record fields can be linked to multiple records, however there is no straightforward way to assign multiple records in one shot. The filter allows you to see records that are related by a common part of their name -- it is too bad you have to repeatedly type in the common part of it because you can only select one record at a time. 

The form view on Airtable currently doesn’t support prefilled hidden fields.Being able to receive input for hidden fields would be very helpful. Being able to receive this input in various ways would be even better. Ideally, you would be able to assign values to hidden fields either:by query argument (e.g., ?_prefill=foo),by view (i.e., configured via Airtable for all submissions of the form in question), orboth (using both methods on the same form view)The only way to gain this functionality at the moment is through integration with a third-party web form service like Typeform or Jotform, which while effective, is both a hassle and implies an extra subscription fee.

Hi,One of the comments from the team at work is that the grid views are messy when it's a whole page of 'pill' shapes, particularly when they're all different widths (based on the text length of each option).Is there the ability to shade/colour the entire cell instead of just a pill shape? And if not, can the width of the pills be based on the width of the column instead of the text length, so they're clear and consistent regardless of the dropdown option selected?Regards,Andrew

What is the proposed idea/solution?I'd like to display the link field to another table with colours on the text like I can on single / multi-select. How does is solve the user problems?This is useful where the linked table is reference data that doesn't change much.At the moment the workaround is laborious. It requires creating a second column in the reference table as a single select, copying the text of the primary column, colouring the second column, then changing the linking tables to show the second column and not the primary, which then means I can't edit the link as it is hidden, so then I create editing views to handle that or displaying both. It's a pain.How was this validated?Great ideas don't need validation.Who is the target audience?Me. I'm selfish that way. But I guess it will work for everyone using Airtable using reference data tables.

What is the proposed idea/solution?Simply have a setting for a field in the same table to automatically update its contents based on the values in another field. This would be like you did a copy and paste of the other field column into it.It's simply type conversion with both types persisting. You'll probably have to make that field non-editable, like a synced field or else allow for 2 way syncing if you want to get elegant.How does is solve the user problems?So many of our automations are put towards the simple task of updating data in one field with that of another. Managing this slows us down and limits our use cases (especially with automation limits).Examples:(1) This is especially important when making use of interfaces that limit the field types it can take advantage of for certain purposes.(2) Converting Formula fields into single/multi selects or linked fields.(3) Converting synced linked fields into a more usable format (a select or linked field)(4) Converting discreet

Here is a gallery view I would like to offer as an example of how Airtable could improve its gallery view design. The gallery view in Airtable looks great, don’t get me wrong, but there are at least a couple of things that need to be looked after e.g. Multi-line title (or other fields) Clean look (the less colours in the template the better, I want the content to stand out, not the template I know Airtable gallery design is adaptive and reduces number of columns depending on the screen size. However, it doesn’t mean I would want it to show the gallery view from left to right on the page. The reason is because humans only pay so much attention and its unreasonable to expect looking from left to right is the natural way of browsing. Allow hiding field names – all of them or individually … I know this was mentioned here before but I just like to repeat things a little. Here is what I mean - take a look at the gallery view of one of Airtable (not-really) competitor - Koda.

One of the aspects of working with blockchain-type data for cryptocurrencies is that the values recorded have a large number of decimal places. Bitcoin has 8 decimal places, and so just barely fits within the max number of decimals Airtable allows. However, Ethereum has 18 decimal places, and many of the tokens built on that infrastructure followed suit, and have very high number of fractional decimal places.Many spreadsheet applications max out at 15 significant digits for numbers, and so are hard to work with Ethereum values that use that full spread. Since Airtable has such a robust API system, I experimented with using it to solve some of these issues and here are the pain points with that:Because the “Number” field cannot go up to 18 decimal places, a “Single line text” field format is needed instead. Using a base that has a Date column and a “Single line text” field, an outside script (capable of high-precision math calculations) can create “running total” values fairly well.Howe

I have a database of members of an organisation and I from time to time I do an information check where I email them (using SendGrid) and ask them to confirm the information or reply with any edits. In its current format they have to reply to the email with any changes, or just to confirm.My request would be to be able to include buttons in the outgoing email that they can use to confirm. The button they click will then populate a Single Select style field in the original table. If they select 'No' however then they would have an option to list any corrections that would then populate in a Long Text style field in the original table.I would then be able to Group using that particular field so I would always be able to see who has and who has not replied.
