It would be helpful for repetitive data entry via a form if the new blank form “remembered” certain values from the last submitted values. Imagine taking inventory items in various rooms or containers. Instead of having to select that room or container every time you start a new form entry, it would save the user a lot of time if the previous room or container ID were persistent until changed. I envision a flag that can be set for each field when creating the form that indicates which fields will be remembered. Does this capability exist already?

Hi there, I‘m searching for a way to detect duplicate entries in a table.My table contains event names, currated by me. I have a form that anyone can use, to suggest new events.When someone submits an event, I‘d like the table to warn me that an event with a similar name already exists.Any idea how to do this?Thanks

It would be wonderful if we could see a preview of a message in outlook that has been attached to a table. I found this repo on github that does exactly that: github.com

Right now on the Hide Fields dropdown, there are buttons at the bottom to Hide All and Show All. I would love it if there was a button to “Hide Calculated Fields” that would hide anything I can’t edit directly from that table. So lookup fields, rollups, formulas, and system generated fields like Created Time would all get hidden and I’d have a view that showed only the fields I could actually change.

My use case involves the Link field. I’d like to be able to have a column that includes multiple URLs per item. I could see use cases for other field types including Date (to show recurring dates for events, for example) and Phone Number.

It would be great if we had the ability to use the record coloring feature to flag records that satisfy any number of criteria based on any number of existing table fields, and to allow multiple color “flags” per record. I would love to be able to see, at a glance, when a record satisfies multiple criteria, but not have to create a really complicated formula field to accomplish the same goal.

It would be nice to have sorting by the Scandinavian alphabet. Saves a lot of unnecessary handworks.

Love the updates in transitioning from the Gantt block to the Gantt view. However, a couple things that would be really useful for us!In the Gantt app we used to be able to arrange the gantt blocks so they either cascaded by start date or by end date. This seems to be gone?Grid View has the option to “Collapse all Groups” or “Expand all Groups.” This would be really helpful for us in Gantt View as we have long development & production timelines. Having to collapse & expand all of our groupings individually is frustrating.Additionally our gantt is in a tasks table & then we have a linked table for key beats/stages of our projects & associated info. However, when the Linked Record groups are collapsed, they aren’t in chronological order (defined in the Beats table) & the resulting gantt looks like a mess. I’ve tried a workaround by using a formula & script to add a numerical order to the Name of the record. It works somewhat but having thos

I was just scrolling through my Membership base, where I have several fields. Can Airtable consider adding something along the lines of users being able to change the color of the field name cells? I feel like this ability to visually group similar fields would be very helpful for faster navigation and information processing within larger bases (e.g. quickly identifying contact, financial, and other similar sections).Thank you!

Please add the ability for a formula to reference a alphanumeric string in column A and then generate a barcode in column B. When using Airtable as a backend for creative workflow, and you want barcodes in things like slugs and job tickets, this could be HUGE. I’m sure for small retailers too! Thanx.

We need something where we can check dependencies of a field. I have a large database (a hairball of sort) and the DatabaseSchema app is unhelpful because in the grey hairball of matter it doesn’t show which fields depend on a particular field.I needed to delete a field I think I no longer need but there is one dependency which I can’t find in the DatabaseSchema app (not clear) and I don’t want to just delete the field to see what happens and do a search and rescue whole afternoon looking for that yellow exclamation sign indicating a broken link.The dependency checker would tell me which fields depend on the particular field and also show the names of the fields.

I was recently creating a form for colleagues to use to log outreach with students. Forms are really essential as many of my colleagues are not great with platforms like this, but need to be able to quickly and easily enter info into our base, without having to interact with the larger context and get lost.In the form, I wanted them to be able to log details about the calls in the Outreach table the form was created on, and also to note if the conversation required any follow-up, and if so, create a linked record in a table called Follow-up.I figured this would be able to work because when you’re putting an entry into a linked field while in grid view, you have the option not to only select from the records that already exist in the table that’s linked, but also to click the plus sign and directly enter a record right there. Unfortunately, that is not an option through a form like it is in grid view. In my case, it would be extremely helpful!

These two features are great but take up a lot of valuable space in the views sidebar. When you have more than a few views, the less you need to scroll, the better. Perhaps a small Plus (+) icon button at the bottom to open up the create a view option/menu and a small Sparkle icon button at the bottom to open suggested views…better yet, those suggested views appear on the create a view menu.

Even on AirTable’s own “Whats New” product update page, they use a Grid View embed they’ve set to Card Layout on Desktop.But it’s fundamentally bad UX:Buttons open the card like anywhere else rather than the link itself!The point of a button is it goes somewhere different!!

For some reason, I’m having the odd person create duplicate options in single select fields. (so, say I have In Stock and Backordered as two single select options, someone could free type In Stock and add it as a third option) It would be good if either: a) The option to create a new single select disappeared when the text that had been entered perfectly matched an existing single select option or b) When opening the single select setting, you could do a quick merge of the duplicate actions. The quickest way to do this currently is to change the field type from single select to text and back again, but this has a negative downside in that if you have any single select options not currently being used in the base, you will lose them when converting back from text to single select. (Also a toggle to automatically keep single selects sorted alphabetically would be nice too, as would the ability to type and create new single select option

This is related to the attachment field type. Our team can have hundreds of box files and folders, searching in the attachment integration here in airtable would leverage a lot of benefits for a variety of use cases for my team.

Small design request - please add Search for my installed Apps in Dashboard… I have quite a number of apps installed. It would be easier to search for them than to scroll down the list, it’s getting big.Yes I can have multiple dashboards, but getting to the list I need is 2 clicks. It’s easier to search for apps.

I can get a list of field names by downloading the CSV and look at the header line. But is there a way to get a list of field definitions (field type, formula details?)

It would be great if Airtable could support Slack Unfurling by providing the necessary metadata needed for the Unfurl to work. Looks like Tray.io already have it - Introducing App Unfurls for Slack

When editing formulas and saving them, the focus of the table sometimes **bleep**s to left and right.It’s hard to track which field I have edited, if they are similar.Suggest Airtable highlights the header of the field that is currently being edited. And when they are at it, why not also highlight the header when the field is selected in any record. Right now only the cell of the field in the record is highlighted (blue frame). Why not also highlight the header, I don’t know maybe making the shading slightly darker or something like that.

I am using AT for my law library. Recently, after having manually entered details of >4000 cases, I was very tired, I still am - puppyitis - and accidentally deleted a field. Wonderful. I checked the snapshot only to find the latest I’d taken predated numerous entries and the latest AT had done also predated many entries with no way of my knowing which and what. I have added a new field and started entering the information again.When I told someone what I’d done they were surprised that I hadn’t backed up. I can’t. I said, i am using a cloud-based app which doesn’t allow back-ups whenever I like. The manual snapshot interval is very long. In the app (non-cloud0 I’ve been using for my law library I can save whenever I like which i do as I go.My question is this - and if not a question then a suggestion. Is is possible to lock a field so that if an attempt is made to delete it a warning comes up “do you want to delete”?

Once you have a few automations the window to view them in is really hard to work with. In the least I would like to be able to filter automations by the triggering table or view. What if you exposed automations as another (protected) table? It could have columns telling me what trigger object it is attached to and if you compiled the code you could even tell me what other tables it references.

Hi guys,Great tool, but can we make the receiver for these warnings flexible? Right now the notification and email are being sent to the creator of the automation. I’d like to inform other people than myself about possible issues.What happens when staff changes for example? Or when the original user is removed from the base?A configuration option somewhere in the menu for example would be great.Cheers,Arthur.
