Hello team,I use Airtable extensively for projects, creating a new table within one master base for each project, typically several times a week, but I refer to old projects every now and then. As such, when I open a base, I need quicker access to the most recently created tables. It would be hugely valuable for me if there was an option within each base to have new tables created as the left-most tab, and/or to invert the ‘All-Tables’ (ctrl-j) list, as the alternatives are to drag each new table to the top (finicky, time consuming, and would not suit a shared table as it will be prone to user-error), or scroll to the right-most tab, or bottom of the All-Tables dropdown numerous times a day.I will soon be getting help with my projects, and this issue will be compounded.Keen to get a response and support on this!Rich

What’s the point in making urls in view descriptions clickable, if as soon as you try to click on it, the mini-window disappears? e.g. :

I would like to request the ability to create if this then that like rules in a base. I like formulas but they can be hard to work with if your not a formula person and I would like to be able to change the state of one field based on the change of another. So I would like to change a records fields based on other fields in the same record, but also be able to change a record in a table based on the change of different record(s) in another table. Examples: When a task changes to “Need Reviews” THEN change the collaborator field to “John” When a new record is added to the view “For evaluation” THEN remove the linked record “Implementation” AND add the linked record “For Evaluation”. When a record is marked with “problematic” THEN notify Hannah When a deadline is within 7 days AND the record hasn’t been updated for that last 7 days THEN change the field “Needs your attention” to checked AND notify me. Let’s say I have records with following titles: Red car not yellow Yellow car not red Red car only Red and not yellow Only yellow car Car is red If I put into search box RED CAR, I want following records to get highlighted/filtered 1, 2 3, 6. Instead of that the Finder will only highlight the records with exact expression. In this case only records with “red car” expression in title. In my case only following will be highlighted/filtered: 1,3 I am not talking about FILTER tool in the menu (that filter tool beside Hidden Fields, Sorted By and Goup). I am talking here about the Finder / Search box which is quite handy for a quick search and important for search on mobile device. So I have a couple of tables that I use to link deliverables to jobs and tasks to deliverables. Each line on these linked tables don’t really have a name that makes sense, so I use a number. I’ve used auto number reluctantly because it’s sort of a “dumb” auto number. By “dumb” I mean that it starts at 1 and increments from there. If I delete something out of the row, it picks up where the last increment was. If I delete something at the end of my list, now my nicely numbered rows are missing a number. I’d like to be able to start the auto number at an arbitrary number, and turn on an option to make sure that it is “smart” about the way it increments so that it looks at the last number currently in the table and adds 1 (n+1) rather than a simple (i++ ).

I’d like to be able to sort (1-> 9, or A->Z, or determine a specific order) in the way that info from lookup or rollup fields are generated!

New to Airtable. I’m looking for a customizable record input screen and can’t seem to find one, so I guess this is a product suggestion. I’d like to be able to enter all fields in a record on one configurable screen, not have to scroll down an expanded record view or scroll across grid view. Basically a Page Designer for inputting records, not just displaying. When you are finished populating the fields and hit Enter, a new screen will pop up with fields blank ready for input. This is pretty standard stuff in DB programs, I am not seeing it here. Thanks!

Seriously, you guys should be ashamed of flaunting a superior UI that only you can use, and not giving your user base access to it! Please make this left rail view of tables available for all! 🙂

Hi there, it would be great to be able to restrict the embedded view to a specific domain only. For the moment anybody who views the source code of your webpage can simply copy your link and embed your Airtable on his own website :frowning: By that feature I do not mean the new “email domain restriction” or “password restriction”. I simply want to show my website visitors my tables without them to have to register an account at Airtable or to enter a password.

Hey there, I want to first off note that I don’t want this to sound like a complaint. :pray: I love Airtable, and I have used it now for 3 years across countless large organisations and medium-sized clients. I use it for everything I do. But there was always one part of the UX that I always saw stressing users out, and that was the way you can just click and accidentally add a brand new record at the bottom without ever meaning to. The process to create a record was so easy it was overwhelming, because to non-experienced, pressing command + z is often not learned, so they’d see Airtable as a place where it wasn’t safe to click anywhere (A problem later solved, in part for teams, by restricting people’s ability to add records in a base, or just using a sync so nobody can create records), and let’s not even talk about creating a record which is part of

It would be useful to have more features related to the use of sets in arrays. Airtable has the ability to create an array and create rollups from those arrays, but doesn’t have any formula functions to manipulate 1 or more arrays. Being able to use set theory type functions would allow better application building than group and sort. Set Theory Functions: For two sets (arrays) A and B, Values present in either of the arrays A or B. Values present in both the arrays A and B. Values present in A, but not B, or in B, but not A.

I just noticed I can’t add field permissions to a sync’ed field. For a client, I am syncing 2 tables. There are scripts running on the sync’ed table, so it would be useful to be able to lock the field name.

When you add field permissions to some fields, you can’t see which ones have them and which don’t. Unless I am missing something of course. It would be useful to have a little icon (like for sync’ed fields) near the field name.Now, only if you set field permissions to “nobody”, you see a little icon next to the first record if you select the field. Not useful having to click through every field. For other options, you don’t see anything.

Some of the AirTable universe bases that I see as examples/templates have cover pages as well as left-hand navigation for the different views (as opposed to seeing it via a dropdown). I was wondering if it’s possible to have your internal base have a look and feel similar to that. I can imagine that this would be very useful for collaboration, especially in cases I want to share bases that will be used by different groups of people who are unaware that the drop-down is the way to find the different views. Anyone manage to solve this problem?

Would love the ability to pre-fill all form fields using URL parameters. Currently some fields have parameter support (see this Support post for details), but not all. The ability to pre-fill linked fields with parameters could be super useful as people use Airtable to build web applications.

I have been using Zapier successfully to implement Airtable to Airtable automations (creating records for multiple customers etc) for a client and I have come across a case where it would be fantastic if there were a Find Records (Plural) which would return a comma separated string of record IDs (or even better an array of objects) which could be used in subsequent Zapier steps to do some process on all records. Mentioning the Array of Objects above, I have had to write Javascript in Zapier to convert the strings you return from linked fields into these - it would neat to have an option for the step to return these as arrays of objects instead to remove the need for this in some cases.

Would be great if we could truncate the above or hide it - it takes up so much space in a view where I’d want my team / users to be navigating to views rather than making them. Thanks!

how can i “drag an drop” an emeil from my AppleMail (.eml) into the amazing airtable sheet as an attachment? in some records i would need to add some emails as documentation. thanks for any info on this or if this would be possible in the near future. thank you.

I’d like to suggest and request a new, COLOR field, that can be set to accept various color values/standards, previewing the resulting color full-cell. At minimum, I’d expect this field to support the same color strings/syntax as the current Color Palette block, but ideally many more color standards. A deal with Pantone/X-Rite would allow PMS/TCX lookup, something we’ve had to build-out manually, and without the benefit of any real end-to-end color management. Adding this would make Airtable the immediate leader within the creative/product sector. We deal with color calculations daily. Thanks!! A.

The current text formatting options in the long-text field are extremely useful - but for me there’s one thing missing - the ability to add tables. Example: we use Airtable to manage our product specification documents. Each time I issue a new version of a document I add a dated text entry to the document control diary. So, I have entries of Product Specs, Data Sheets, Safety Data Sheets, Labels etc all arranged in a long-form dated diary. It works fine, but means you need to scroll through entries to review. Tabulating changes to documents would make document review much easier. I could have a separate field for each document type - we tried it but it’s very clumsy and doesn’t work for us.

It would be nice to have a ZIP Code field type so that when a zip code is entered, it would automatically fill in the city and state in a field next to the zip code field.

When communicating with a developer I want to be able to paste pictures into the comments - just like it would be possible to insert it into Slack/Gmail. This helps when we’re seeing bugs in the development. Alternative right now is to upload the picture in one of the fields, but this is slightly more cumbersome and you cannot connect this easily to one of the comments

When choosing the calendar field type, it has various format options but they all include the day. I would like to have an option to just include month and year. Use cases: In an employee directory, I’d like to have when they started with the company but most people don’t know date. Indicating when a client joined us or when their renewal month is.

The search block allows searching only in Latin languages.Why not enable more languages? While you’re at it. Allow determining if the base is LTR or RTL, in the settings.
