It would be a real game-changer — and totally awesome — if the column headers at the top of Airtable’s grid view would wrap lengthy field names onto multiple lines.Other spreadsheet programs allow for variable heights of the column headers — we should have the same capability in Airtable.Currently, Airtable cuts off the text of lengthy field names, but it’s our only choice if we want to keep our columns tight & narrow. If we want to see long field names, we are required to keep our columns extra-wide, which wastes a lot of screen space.Check out the screenshot below for an example of this problem. Notice how much wasted space there is, simply because we want to see the field names above.Our users often request descriptive field names so that they can understand exactly what they are looking at in the rows below. But descriptive field names end up making the column extremely wide.Yes, we could come up with some sort of abbreviation for the field

It would be great if I could open an Airtable link in the Mac app instead of the web app. (I sometimes have different accounts logged in)If a redirect (open in Airtable) isn’t possible, I think a url bar, or some way to go directly to a base given its url/id would be great

What is the proposed idea/solution?Interface Filters are rigidly half-width and the filter-by field is so tiny I can't read what it is, making it impossible to use at a glance. Especially with multiple filters that start the same way. Make it dynamically expand to be full-width if desired.How does is solve the user problems?My team would be able to read what they're filtering by without hovering over each filter every time.Who is the target audience?Anyone using interface filters with fields that are more than a single word.

Being able to keep paperwork for a nonprofit on Airtable is great. However, a lot of our forms require signatures. It would be great if Airtable provided this feature. If anyone knows a simple integration for this please let me know!

Commenting would be far more helpful if it behaved in Airtable as it does in products like G Suite and Office 365 – comments can be resolved and therein no longer displayed as an action item (in the case of Airtable denoted by the small number in the far left column of the record).

Hi - I’m a lender and would like to use page designer to generate monthly statements for my borrowers. Ideally these are easily converted to pdf and saved in an attachment field for each record in a view. Right now there is no easy way to do this except for printing each separately and adding manually, or printing all records, splitting, and then uploading.We could save to an attachment field using a template and Formstack integration, but there are a couple limitations. No table view for linked fields and Formstack pricing is based on the number or merges, which would start to add up quickly.To share the statements with our borrowers, we’ll use Stacker so they can login to their portal and access the statements.

When I view an image of an A4 paper in an attachment field, the viewer doesn’t let me zoom. The viewer fits the entire image to the screen and because of the proportions, it becomes narrow. Most of the time, text is not visible and zooming is necessary. Currently, I right click and open the image in a new tab and display image in its full size. It would be very handy if there was a zooming widget like e-commerce sites use for product pictures. I’m sure you would come up with the best style. I don’t want to leave airtable’s page for looking at pictures and then try to get back to where I was :frowning:

What is the proposed idea/solution?Create an Overarching Timeline and Date settings functionality that lives at the BASE level versus the view.In these settings, I can configure a timeline that will appear at the top of every timelines / Gantt view that will display a single line of important date information.  I can also define dates to be "Unschedulable".How does is solve the user problems?There is currently no clean way to define a single line "important Dates" or milestones for your project, and you have to hackily set this up dependent of what you are showing in your timeline / Gantt view. Additionally, you must also define your date settings PER view, versus setting this up 1 time for your base.  If your company has 100 Holidays, time off, etc. per year, you have to input these 100 dates in EVERY view where you dont want them to be seen.  In any timeline or Gantt view "Use Global Timeline Settings" is set on by DefaultHow

When you use a date picker for entering date in date field its always a Sunday as a week start day. Would be great to have ability to change it. Thanks!

What is the proposed idea/solution?I use the timeline view to plot upcoming translation projects and see what resources will need to be allocated to them over the coming months. I would love to be able to have the bar on the timeline change height depending on the size of the project, so I can see at a glance how much work each project represents. In my case, this would simply mean referring to a 'Number of Words' field for each project, then making a thicker bar for a higher number.How does it solve the user problems?I currently use colour coding to do something similar, but the colours are a little arbitrary, so it's not hugely intuitive. I could potentially also use the 'grouped by' feature to put bigger projects higher up and smaller lower down, but that's also not hugely visually immediate. I imagine this feature would also be useful to other users who wanted to get a similarly at-a-glance idea of the 'size' of a given record, or some other numerical qu

I couldn’t figure out a way to write two or more URLs in a field so that they are automatically displayed such as in Twitter, linking the page title and important page content. It would be very interesting to have a multiple URL field where them could be stored and identified.

I’m so desperate to have multiple URL entries in a single field. It’s so difficult to include URL references on a record when it requires more than one URL, and I have been frustrated with this for over a year to the extent that I just give up on using Airtable for many projects. Junction tables, which I have tried, are really not a good solution to this because: I don’t use most references more than once, so there’s no reason for me to have a separate record for some random URL. Having to create a record for every URL makes data entry that much more cumbersome (the reason I stop using Airtable), and The ability to click the URL in a URL field is too important. When the URL has to be its own record it just starts feeling clunky and frustrating. Furthermore, it’s implausible for me to just have multiple URL fields because while I often just use one or two references, sometimes I may need ten. Having to habitually scroll pas

What is the proposed idea/solution?...new element to inject code block into an interface. How does is solve the user problems?...I could embed Airtable forms, embed Gmail, embed a VoIP phone into our APP so we don’t need to leave Airtable to execute those functions. How was this validated?...Who is the target audience?...basically everyone. This would make Airtable truly a complete app builder. 

This request is for the emails generated when a form submission is received via a View Form. The email is typically titled "Airtable forms: someone has responded to..."Receiving this email is very useful when a new submission form has been received.However, the email contains both the filled out details of each question but also, and unnecessarily, the field names that have been hidden within the form and not filled out. This then prevents the user from applying their own email filters to the email. For example, I only want to filter emails where submissions have only answered certain questions - but as the submission notification email is filled with all of the fields the user didn't respond to, it's impossible to filter.I feel that a toggle would be welcome here, to remove these entries from the email if they're not being filled out.

Hello, I am using Airtable for project management. I am trying to shift some of our proposal generation to Airtable and see some promise with the Page Designer Feature. Just wondering – is it possible to generate multiple pages from a single record? Basically, for each job, I have several components that take up most of a sheet of paper. I need to have a summary table of work to be completed below that, along with terms and conditions. Our current proposals are 6 pages long using Microsoft Word Any thoughts on how to accomplish this?

Do you think this feature will be coming soon please? I see it has been asked a few times & it would absolutely make life easier for many of us. Thanks

Hello!I have searched… but I have not found an option to print/export pdf one by one, with a dynamic pdf name.It’s possible with zappier + pdf filer, but I wanted to stay on Airtable for the whole process 🙂 My issue:I made a page layout with dynamic fields, and when I print them, I have only one big pdf called “BDDname_ BDDtable - Airtable.pdf”. Is it possible in the future to export record one by one in pdf, with a dynamic name for the pdf, for exemple : FirstName-LastName.pdf for each one. Thanks!Eric

am i missing something or are input masks not available? there is a special 10 digit number that would be great to have always formatted the correct way. i suppose a formula could solve it but it seems like a rather simple feature.

Idea: Enable copy or export of pivot-tables in interfaces. This functionality already exists in the pivot-table extention in the data tab. But not in the interface tab.User problem: I need to use the data from the pivot table in another tool. Copying or exporting is not possible. Printing to PDF has its own issues. Validation: Scoured all over the internet for a fix and actually got nothing that would work.How does it solve it: It solves the user problem because its the easiest solution. Good day Airtable overlords,I love the ability to be able to include Text boxes with headings for sections on an interface page.  It's nice to be able to include paragraph text below, which I use for instructions for users, but I'd love if that smaller text could instead be more like a field description, ie a hoverable "i" associated with the text box.  Currently the text box just shows as "Untitled", with "No configurable properties".  There are three dots to change the name of the text field, but clicking on "Rename" actually does nothing.  It'd be great if we could just add help text to the text field, so that we can use the text field as a section header, and the help text doesn't have to take up valuable real estate. Your loyal servant, Craig

What is the proposed idea/solution?The idea is to have a field that contains a custom number of check boxes that can be individually labeled. For instance 4 boxes labeled Y1 (for Year 1), Y2, Y3 & Y4 to track the number of years a sponsor has paid a student's tuition. I can see other uses as well. If you sell punch cards - buy 10 get the 11th cup of coffee or yoga class etc free. You could check off the number of times the punch card has been used.How does is solve the user problems?This solves this user from having to have multiple check box columns - it's cleaner. Automations could be created when all boxes are checked. I'm sure others smarter than me can think of many more uses.Please enjoy the very sophisticated drawing attached.

I think it would be incredibly helpful to have a button that automatically expands or collapses all groups in a particular view. Currently, we use groups to separate out our different clients, types of content, clear next steps, and more, so we’re constantly expanding and collapsing a bunch of groups. On my own, I tend to keep the groups collapsed, but during our staff meetings we go through each project to get a broad overview of the status of things, so it’s helpful to expand everything and go through them one-by-one. A button to automatically do this would make our lives easier!

Hello All,Personally I use airtable to track things throughout the day, and I’ve found it quite annoying to not have a time field option that is separate from the date. Of course I can enter the time manually in a single line text entry, but I think since we can enter the date without the time it only makes sense that we be able to enter the time without the date. What do you all think? Is this something you would find useful or something you have wished for?Claire

When an automation uses a repeated group, it can run for an extended period of time. Currently, there is no option to forcefully stop the automation midway, leaving users waiting for it to finish.Additionally, while the automation history displays the start time, it does not show the end time, making it difficult to determine the total runtime.It would be highly beneficial to provide the end time and total elapsed time in the automation history to enhance usability and monitoring capabilities. 

Sometimes, we need to temporary enable some filters. So filters should be able to be disabled and enabled because creating filter every-time takes time.For example, I want to shift all the dates of a view after specific date. So temporarily, I can limit the data using filter of that view. Bulk update and Disable filter again.Thanks!
