I believe importing CSV files is currently only supported through a web browser. I would like the ability to import a csv file from Dropbox or iCloud into an existing table (or a new table) with the native app.

It would be super helpful for me if there was the option in gallery view to only display a field if there is something entered in the field. This way if different records have info entered into different fields the empty fields aren’t taking up space and taking away attention in the view. Thank you!

It would be great to be able to export selected (box ticked) records to csv. I haven’t been able to find a solution that exports only selected records, nor a way to filter out/hide records that aren’t selected. Use case: for instance if I’m, creating a quotation budget, and I have a list of lots of sellable items. I want to mark those that the customer is interested in, and export these as a csv.

I would like to see a shareable view that is formatted as the print view. or, another way to solve my problem would be wrapped text in a grid view. Thanks.

I am very new to Airtable and am learning the ropes here. Being able to link an Evernote is amazing. I however, would like to be able to link an entire Evernote Stack. Is this something that may be coming in the future?

I just started using Airtable and I must say, I works like a charm. :thumbs_up: The only thing that I always have to encounter, is that the best functions of the immediate competition are not incorporated. If I look at the very nice possibilities of Smartsheet (reminder and comment function for every row; conditional formatting with colour, overview with alerts, attachments and comments, update requests, …) I’m astonished that these are not in Airtable and/or that they are (as far as I can tell) not (highest) on the priority list. Unbelievable really… Same problem with, eg, Wunderlist vs ToDoIst… So: reminders (via e-mail, pop-up, sms, …) per line or per “record” for eg deadlines better format for printing (compacter; now 3 pages for 15 columns) conditional formatting with colour asking update request or giving update status per line of record (added) - longer revision history! Hi, I love your mission statement on About - Airtable. Airtable was founded on the belief that software shouldn’t dictate how you work—you should dictate how it works. This is exactly how tools that I love behave! In the spirit of that statement: how about a canvas view? Big empty space for me to do whatever I want with Each row is represented as a post it with a single field as description (that I get to choose like the stacking field in the Kanban-view) I can upload a background picture (with columns) or draw things (lines, text etc) directly on the canvas [I have many other ideas that would be for the more advanced scenarios - let me know if you want to know more] Now I can truly create a view that supports just my needs and change it as needed. One of my primary uses of Airtable is to concatenate data from multiple fields into a paragraph using a formula field. I would love to see the option to wrap text in the main grid view, but if you don’t do there, would you consider wrapping text onto multiple lines for formula fields in the expanded record popup? Essentially, give formula fields the properties of a long-text field would display rather than a single line field when in the expanded record view. It’s really difficult to review longer text short of copying and pasting it into another app.

I use Airtable for sales and it would be great if I could push my current view (record, view, table etc) from the desktop to my smartphone or vice versa (perhaps a view sync mode?). The main reason if that I can tap on a phone number and make a call from the iOS app but if I’m in a record on the computer, I then have to find it on the web app. And even then it’s not perfect because the iOS app doesn’t support Groups (yet!).

Is it possible to make multiple and single select fields reffer to another field with multiple entries? example: table has 3 fields named goon type, available goons, chosen goons in available goons (dependant on goon type), I have a multiple select or a lookup field with several entries, but I have to select only few of them for this specific record in the field chosen goons. this would fulfill a good part of the void left by the non-existence of data validation.

I would love to be able to get Base & Fields metadata, such as table names, descriptions, data types, formulas, etc… IMHO the more endpoints available the more creative developers get with a product… quite the opposite of Twitter’s approach to developers :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I have several teams that have a few editors each, but they can’t create basis in the teams without being a creator on the team. I don’t want them to have creator access to the bases, but I also don’t want to have to create 10 to 30 basis a month myself, even if they are a copy of anther base.

I was just thinking about Slack’s Slackbot, and it got me thinking: Wouldn’t it would be awesome if we could let integrated apps act as virtual collaborators? Just as we can notify people when they’re added a collaborator, imagine that instead of assigning a task in a field to Sarah in Design, I could assign it to Zapier and trigger a workflow. What do you think?

It would be great to add a field like “auto number” that dropped in the date (or date and time) that a record was created. This would be very useful when combined with the forms/survey feature.

If you could make a secondary date field visible on the calendar view’s sidebar it would make it a lot easier to use the drag and drop scheduling features. Even the example on the calendar view guide would need this functionality: https://support.airtable.com/hc/en-us/articles/216945218-Guide-to-calendar-view In this example there’s a “Date/Time Scheduled” field and a “Due Date” field. If you use the “Date/Time Scheduled” field for the calendar view, you’re not able to see the “Due Date” field in order to decide how to schedule your week.

It would be nice if a base would allow the records view to default to items for the current date rather than all records in a database. For instance, we’re running a production calendar that I would like to send to our marketing team. In the calendar view, they can see all of the records int he sidebar, but they start at the date of the first record added - as the list expands, we’ll either need to delete (or remove the publishing dates) all of the older events out so the most current shows at the top of the list, a cumbersome task. It would be nice if the dropdown would allow one to choose to show from current date with an options to see all should the user choose.

We love Airtable! We work a lot with tasks! However, I’d like to filter out “finished” tasks. Of course I can filter within “task table” not to show tasks with “finished” checkbox However, these tasks still show up when linked to other tables. For example, I assign a certain task to certain people, with cross table filtering I mean, that in people’s table only unfiltered tasks of task table shall show up. How do I achieve that? It’s about getting rid of finished tasks (not messing up the views) without deleting them - kind of archiving them. Thanks for your support Thomas

Will we get a way to create automated backups of our bases? I was pulling data for a report when the outage happen. I explained to my boss why the holdup happened and he looked at me like I was speaking gibberish. It dawned on me that I’m using Airtable for more and more of the business, but I don’t have an automated way to save a backup. I hope you’ll consider making this a priority.

When copying and pasting from a spreadsheet into an empty base, there’s a prompt that appears asking if you’d like to expand the number of columns. I think there should also be a checkbox here that can be ticked that about whether the table being pasted has a header. If selected, it would take the top row and change the field names instead of putting the header cells into the first record.

Is there a way to make a linked field be single selected instead of multiple selected? It is needed to avoid errors in formulas and user (forms) experience.

I wish there is a better view on iOS. It’s awesome how it’s still need and bug free, just wish that I can view full tables like in google sheets and excel.

Dear Airtable-Team, The Kanban view which you introduced in November is an awesome feature! Would it be possible to trigger a custom callback when moving the entries from one column to another? I would love to use the Kanban view as a board for my agile projects (Scrum), and tracking time spent for each task/entry would be an awesome feature. The callback could write the time to the entries column “start”/“end” or write to a new table as new rows with a new row for every action. Each move to a new column (which is not equal with the current column) would be triggered by an “move in” action and “end” by an “move out” mouse drag of the entry. Thanks for adding the Collaborator’s filed type. I think that is a great addition. Is there a way to have another level of collaborator that has edit access only to the rows they are added to? That way, they can edit their rows, but can’t see or edit any others rows.
