What is the proposed idea/solution?Allow snapshots to be downloaded locally in a compressed/encrypted format native to Airtable only.How does is solve the user problems?I think this would meet the never ending demand/requests to have better backup options off-server.How was this validated?I understand Airtable's caginess to restrict moving all of a user's data off the server, they want to keep customers, that's cool, I want to stay here too. The problem is data often needs redundancy by keeping it separate on completely different systems. Currently, providing a CSV/JSON/API export only allows the data to move, but not the rest of the airtable features like formulas, scripts, automations, interfaces etc. If I were to lose a base for some reason (malicious intent for example), even if I have the CSV exports I would not be able to rebuild my base. If this happened I would 100% not bother to attempt to return to airtable because I know it's point

Hello,I am interested in having the capability to establish "conditional visibility" rules for fields within the interface.Our workflow frequently involves tasks that necessitate varying sets of fields based on the specific project. Currently, our options are limited to either creating separate interfaces for each project or displaying all available fields in the "Task Detail" section. It would be highly beneficial if I could implement a rule that allows fields X and Y to be displayed only when the project is set to B.

What is the proposed idea/solution?org chart extension: rather than listing every single field beneath the table heading, creating a searchbar option for each table where you type the field name in and the extension then shows ONLY the fields across the base that are connected/impacted by changes to that field. flow chart extension: (1)Allowing for more than a hundred records to be included, (2) arranging them to fill the screen rather than listed in a line regardless of whether they are connected to other records and (3) allowing for the possibility to zoom in and outHow does is solve the user problems?org chart extension: currently, this extension is only practical for relatively simple bases. this change would allow for more focused conceptualizing and trouble-shooting of bases. 

Having a filter option within the automation run history would be helpful. particularly for automations that trigger frequently. Being able to filter by a specific date/ time (and/or by failed attempts) would save time of having to scroll through a long list of successful runs of that automation.

I’d like to use Airtable to save time creating PowerPoint slides that I currently use to present status updates in weekly meetings. I was hoping to do this with the Page Designer Block, but it looks like each instance is limited to just one page and I need the layout for each slide to be slightly different. For example I want my deck format to be similar to this:Slide 1 - P1 features statusSlide 2 - P2 features statusSlide 3 - P3 features statusIs there a way to do this or combine the views of multiple blocks into a PDF?If not I’d love to see this feature added to Airtable. My team is new to Airtable and the thought of saving time from updating records in multiple locations makes us giddy.

I really like the recent addition of the grouped records function. It came at a really perfect time and has been very useful for my application. I can use it to slice my data set in really functional ways. The problem comes when I want to export the data in my grouped view. I would have expected that the records that are grouped to be somehow separated when the download CSV button was pressed. At the moment, the entire list is downloaded in a single file without any distinction between groups. This is problematic when the fields that are used to group the records in AirTable are hidden. I would expect that each group might have their own CSV, or that the single CSV would have a ghost row which would separate the groups and mimic the look of the grouped records in excel.

Hi airtable! I have a list (an array) of items in two columns. Each row represents two different lists (one in each column). I’d like to be able to compare the two columns and remove what is common in both. For example Row 1: Column 1: Apple, Orange, Pineapple, Kiwi Column 2: Apple, Kiwi Result: Column 3: Orange, Pineapple Row 2: Column 1: Banana, Orange, Grape, Kiwi, Pineapple, Passion Fruit Column 2: Orange, Grape, Pineapple Result: Column 3: Banana, Kiwi, Passion Fruit etc. The general functionality is to be able to compare (two or more arrays) and perform some kind of action. Hi all!I have a ton of automations that are simply "Tag with ___ form" where the automation runs if a form is submitted. Basically just to keep track of various forms that we have and where they are coming from. Makes it easier to sort the data.Anyways, my idea is to have some of the various triggers for the automation, also trigger for the conditional logic. In a dream world it would look something like this... New Record Created --> IF (1 Form, Tag with "1", If (2 Form, Tag with "2"..) and so on....With the limit of 45 automations, I am maxed out when 20 of them are just this. Would also clean up my interface big time.

This is very useful for multiple nested conditions, and is basically a string of multiple IF-conditions, with the 'ELSE" condition being another IF.  The google sheets documentation for the IFS function clearly explains this.  It would be very helpful to make long nested formulas much more readable! Thanks for the great work with Airtable 🙂

Field names have to be hard-coded into a formula, which makes it so you can't do something like indicate which field name to pull from in a multiselect field. You can only use a switch with hardcoded field names, or use a whole bunch of if statements to make different things happen depending on the multiselect options. I'd love to be able to write like:FIELDS({multi-select that says which fields to return})and have that return the value of all those fields as an array

What is the proposed idea/solution?Add an option to sort the list of bases on the Home screen alphabetically.How does is solve the user problems?The current sort options are oldest<>newest only. This means bases and interfaces change places on the screen each time a base is clicked into. The user problem: this makes the Home screen inaccessible to those who have trouble following constant visual changes. Alphabetical sorting would solve this problem by allowing bases and interfaces to stay in consistent positions on the screen.Who is the target audience?Everyone (others have requested this functionality for non-accessibility reasons as well)

What is the proposed idea/solution?I suggest having conditions to unlock a button on this interface. (e.g : button is locked if column A and B are empty). This feature is pretty basic and mandatory when creating Application. Objective : Prevent human mistakesHow does is solve the user problems ?We are using button to send notification to clients. Those notifications require some data that are added as variable in the email. Also, we need those data to generate contractual document. Some employee push the button often without having filled the required information. For these table features: FILTER BY COLOR BY … we currently have the following options, but they do not cater for tables where many records with very similar substrings can be difficult to separate from each other: contains does not contain is is not is empty is not empty is any of is none of … so it’d be helpful to have the following additional ways to filter: “starts with” “ends with” … for example if I have 1000s of records named by format: YYYYMMDD-hh:mm:ss-[0-9][A-Za-z0-9 -] … I would be able to separate records of a particular year from each other by filtering/coloring on name starts with ‘2022’

The Airtable Electron app—like many others, but not all (see Slite’s app)—lacks support for checking spelling errors as you type. Look, I’m gunna level with you… I suck at spelling. But, I’d rather not have everyone else know it. If you could add spell check support you’d be doing me a solid. Thanks!

Often I'm needing to cycle the Autonumber field to cater for changes made to table data. We could really use a simple method to reset the number count for the Autonumber field.Currently, the only method is to change the field from Autonumber to either Text/Number field, and then change it back again into Autonumber, which then resets the count as desired - but is a pain.Please also consider other counting methods too, maybe a simple method that allows the user to adjust the base, be it Base 10, Base 16 (hex), and a simple alphanumeric, where select letters can be removed (such as the letter l and I, as not to be confused with 1, and Q and O to avoid mixups with 0.) 

When you complete work on a table or a tab, sometimes you want to keep it as a record of the pass, but no longer need it for day-to-day operations. For larger projects where many tables may be created, having the ability to archive tables that are no longer under active use would be a great way to promote base health, and to make jumping into a new base less scary.

With almost every table I build, I want to be able to group by year and month chronologically. However, most of the time I have a full date (with the day) on there as well. Hence, almost every table I build I have to create multiple extra columns to pull the year and month (both together and separately) in order to be able to have groups chronologically. This is to see what projects are happening in each month, how many items are sold each year, what tasks need to be done each month, what expenses happened each month, etc etc. And if I do a pretty format for the month and year (January 1, 2023) in one table, I still have to do another column that is YYYY-MM in order to use it as the group if I want it in chronological order, which is then not pretty (2023-1) for the group name. It would be great to be able to have something that is smart enough to give you options on grouping and sorting that is based on your date column’s YYYY-MM or YYYY-MM-DD (whatever you choose) equivalent so th

Hi Guys, I was playing around with the “Find Records” automation and found the following Conditions option. It enables you to set a condition as static or dynamic. It would be amazing if this was rolled out to the rest of the platform. I would love to see this on linked record, count, and roll up fields. @airtable: Will this functionality ever extend to the meat and bones of the platform? I think the reason these types of feature requests don’t get many upvotes is because everyone calls them something different. When you choose a list interface, there is the ability to sort and filter the data. However, if you choose the list element on blank canvas the there is no ability to sort. Also sorting on grid view in blank canvas would be very helpoful

What is the proposed idea/solution?Add a way to filter the list of records that are no longer synched in a synched table where records remain after they are removed from the source. The current UI (attached screenshot) is basic and only filters for if the record is no longer available in the original. How does this solve the user problems?We need to keep an archive of records from a form where people link records coming from a synched listing that is updated quarterly. Only the current quarter is updated / linkable. As the table grows, I want to delete any records that are out of date (or unavailable) AND that don't have a form submission linked. By adding in more filter functions for this list I can accurately delete specific records and keep the ones I need for the archive.How was this validated??Who is the target audience?All users who need a system to be a point of operations and have a clear workflow for archiving.

A useful feature for plain number entries would in my opinion be custom number formats. For example I have entries like 0052 and the Number field type will delete the zeros. Thanks for the consideration :slightly_smiling_face: PS fantastic product you have going here!
