When sharing the front-end of your base via link, you get to this menu:Originally, it says “Enable Shared Base Link” and there is that off/on slider. When you set it to on, it changes to “Disable shared base link”, which doesn’t make sense for a slider - the slider is indicative of “Enable Shared Base Link” being true or false. What the above picture looks like is that I’ve Disabled share base link, since that is the function and it is set to true via the slider. This is not true, as when the slider is on, my Base link is functional.If you wanted to keep the current format, you would want to change it to a button, not an on/off interface.

I’m finding that Airtable does so many things right, and I want to use it in my nonprofit for client/case/volunteer management, but I’m hesitant to throw all of our eggs in that basket without the ability to locally back up the data—at least once in awhile—including attachments. It would be very valuable to us to be able to download the snapshots, and then restore from them later, if needed. (Note: I’m assuming that snapshots include attachments…that would be key)

When querying records in the scripting extension, it is required that the fields are explicitly defined as a list of strings or added via something like {fields:table.fields} as a parameter to selectRecordsAsync.While both methods work fine, the user is left to either type out a list of the field names/ids that will be used within the script/automation or select all the fields wtihin the table, there is no inbetween (that I’m aware of).If there were a way to specify fields based on what is hidden/shown in a view, the querying process would be much improved.Ex.const table = base.getTable("Table"); const view = table.getView("View"); const query = await view.selectRecordsAsync({fields: view.fields});

There is very little out there in the way of effective client portal solutions for a B2C environment, would be amazing if Airtable created this

It’s easy using the UI or Keyboard shortcuts to jump from table to table or base to base, but theres no way to quickly find and jump to a field within a grid view. For tables they may have many fields/columns, this makes it very difficult to navigate. A search/keyboard shortcut, similar to the base switcher Ctrl+K would make it much easier to navigate fields.

I know that something like this would be possible by creating two columns, one for the raw data and one for a formula to transform the data. That being said, it would be great to be able to create a “Transformation Field” that would operate similarly to a Function field.The function would receive the cell data directly, and transform it into the desired formatting for the cell. For example, you could paste in a URL that would then be run through a REGEX function to strip away everything except the root domain itself.

19 July 2022Please, I love Airtable but the simple notifications are not cutting it for a busy team. We need much more control:an integration of notifications for Comments and @mention,notification control in automations,notifications in Interfaces (we are stuck using Interfaces until this happens)have a goal of notifications serving teams IN AIRTABLE without sending email or Slack or whatever,simply being able to isolate records with outstanding notifications of any kind for the current user in a search would be bliss, andmore.I’m sure you get it already but this is as important for team collaboration as being able to do the things Airtable does well: shape the data, make effective interfaces, etc, etc.

Is there a way to sync our database of users with airtable so a form can autofill that information in like Google Forms does. This way a user doesn’t have to type in their email every-time and we can track our users better for reporting.

I’ve got an idea about making comments more obvious. In this current version, the comments seem hidden. If the team has a lot of people, it’s very difficult to see what’s really going on: Did it have new comments? Where they comment? I don’t have the feeling that I can take control. There are times where I’d like to indicate the expense or cost of any given object in my table with a one-to-five rating using a symbol indicating currency. For example, oftentimes restaurant meals are rating based on cost:€ for inexpensive, but € € € € € for very, very expensive.Presently, my options are only flags, stars and thumbs-up signs. I’d like at least a $ option, but € and £ and perhaps other popular currency symbols could be used. It could be automatically set based on localization settings.

I love that the Automations and Data and Interfaces are now on the top nav bar - what would be even better is that if they remained there when looking at a specific interface and there was also a return to home on there toothe navigation from a given interface to the underlying data or to another base is very clumsy.

It would be really good if you could view Timelines as a Calendar - showing individual days as well as weekends, and if possible add local public holidays as an option. Similar to yearful.io, see image below - I find this so much more intuitive to read (but doesn’t have the functionality of Airtable!)

Sometimes multiple select field options can be a long list and going thru to add multiple options to many records is a pain. Can we get an “add all options” option to the multiple select field? There are times when then would be just the thing, or it would at least save time by ‘adding all’ options and then deleting a few.

When we were using Microsoft Access it had really simple Design View interface on a table to manage the table structure, ordering fields, adding new fields, setting the datatype etc. I’m not looking for all the same functionality but I’m reminded of it when using Airtable managing views on field-heavy tables.Managing the fields on these tables via the Hide Fields dropdown menu is slow and clumsy and my browser freezes when I’m pulling fields up/down the list. With the table view sprawling horizontally there’s too much lateral scrolling for what should be such a simple operation. The multi-select feature for fields made a bit of a difference, but being able to view the fields in a way that better utilises screen area would be a bit improvement for me.I would love to see a dedicated design view for an Airtable View. I’d take that over the Hide Fields menu any day!

I often have the issue of switching to a table viewing the data, searching for what I want only to find that someone has last used an odd view and I am looking at a filtered set which I dont want.How about being able to set a DEFAULT VIEW for each table, which when you switch to that table it display every time. In your USER SETTINGS you would have a checkbox as to whether you want to use the default view for each table.Quick and simple to implement and VERY VERY useful!

Hi! I am using an iframe of a table in my site… but if you look at it on the phone there are no ways to search it. can you please add that for mobile? we have over 400 members to search thru…thanks!

I would love the ability to set a standard date format across all of my bases when a date is used in a formula field, or for the formula field to use the same date format as is set in the date field it refers to.It’s not a huge issue to use the DATETIMEFORMAT function in the formula field, but when you have to do this 20-30 times, it would sure be nice to be able to set a default across the base, or to simply mirror the formating in the date field being referenced.

In the web view, instead of opening a new record in the mini add format, please allow a user to have the option to open every new record in full record view - I never find the mini add useful, and would like the option to create records in the full record view format.

I love the ability to import images via a URL. One thing I’ve recently encountered is the inability to import images in the WebP format. Use of this image format is quickly becoming (annoyingly) widespread. This would likely require converting the images to JPG on import for storage, but that would be simple enough to code. (See: developers . google . com/speed/webp/docs/using)Currently, I’m having to use a third-party website to convert WebP images to JPG, and that adds another 5-8 steps in the process to import an image via URL. I would rather not have to leave Airtable to import WebP images as this is a function I use a LOT.

The interface module doesn’t seem to currently have the capability of adding / deleting a record. I would suggest maybe having a new type of element (Button) that could be added to the interface (i.e. button that could be settup to create record in xyz table, with maybe a popup requesting selected fields to be filled and then positionning to current record being edited)

I imagine lots of people use Airtables to keep track of ordered lists that they want to filter, reorder, and remanipulate, but ultimately return back to the original ordered list. Further, I imagine that from time to time they want to change how that ordered list is ordered… ENTER THE RANK TYPE! It: only accepts integer values when a number is changed, if increments everything at or above it! A table could even have multiple rank columns for different dimensions! It’s like magic! Orderly magic!

Hello, I like Dedupe function, but I feel one thing still missing…For example, We have 1 set of Duplicated data here,2 data has 2 different information in the same field, and I would like to merge 2 different information in the primary record.Data 1 -Email = aaa@xxx.com Data 2-Email = 0 aaa@xxx.comData 1 -purchased= Apple Date 2-purchased = LemonI need to merge 2 data because e-mail is same, but I want to keep Apple and lemon under same data.(I wanted to add a picture, but this system does not seem to allow me to do it… )I understand we can select only one field to be primary field, but Is there any way to keep and merge all information from all duplicated data?Looking forward to hear from you soon.

Could you add a new data type for locations? Types of locations that would be useful are: -Address (123 First St, City, State) -Lat / Long (31.12345, -110.12345) -Military Grid Reference System (11S NV 12345 12345) This would be incredibly useful if the location is a hyperlink to a map (similar to how an address in the Long Text data field will open up in Apple Maps). Additionally, if a list of locations on a table could be viewed in a single map view allowing the map to display all of the locations from the table.

It would be great if there were a way for a formula to differentiate between blank and 0 in a number field. Currently, cellname = "" and cellname = 0 both return true, whether the value is "" or 0. I understand why this would be the default. It’s like truthy operators in JS (false == 0). But it would be useful if there were an option to circumvent that default behavior, and do a more strict comparison in a particular formula. Potentially cell = BLANK() would return true for a blank value, but not for a zero value. Currently, equality comparison with BLANK() also returns true for 0. Alternatively, it could be done with a new function - something like STRICTEQUALS(a, b).
