We should have an option to lock the positioning of the fields in a table in ALL views that are created.If you have a ton of fields and views in a table (say like 50 fields and 14 views), and you want to add/subtract fields to modify the data in it, it because very cumbersome to make sure the fields in each and every view are organized in the correct/logical order.Some tables don’t require the fields to be in unique/custom orders. It’d be nice to have an option/button that we can turn on/off for a table to force all fields in be placed in the same order. If you adjust the position of “Field 2” in “View 4”, then it’ll automatically update the position of Field 2 in the other 13 views in that table so you don’t have to manually drill into each view and drag Field 2 into the desired position.As tables generate tons of fields/data, this feature would really come in handy and save alot of time.

It would be really helpful for me to be able to ‘Copy Filters as Formula’. Often I switch from using View Filters to an IF(AND()) type formula when filters get more complicated, or I want to re-use the logic across multiple tables with lookups. In these scenarios, I end up having to reverse-engineer the filters myself which is time consuming, prone to error and hard to test! It would be great it Airtable would supply the formula - it would also help new users understand how the connection between the two.

I have used the gallery view to create create “cards” of my records with select information and I want to add conditional coloring that applies to the field rather than the whole record. So a given card will have multiple colors and the color will only be applied to field per record.

Hi AirTable Team, Thank you so much for AirTable – it’s been so inspiring and helpful! Feature Request: “Would it ever be possible to duplicate an AirTable Table to a different AirTable Base?” Use Case: After creating a great Table with customized fields we realize, “This table would work great in another base we already have going. Let me just export it to CSV and Import.” While this gets us most of the way there, we lose the field type customizations in the process (i.e. Single Select, Multiple Select, Attachment, URL, Currency, etc.). For now, I am happy to go back through the 18 fields (in our case) and customize each field type. Simply changing it to an “Attachment” or “URL” is no problem, but where it takes a little bit more time is in recreating or cleaning up the Single Select and Multiple Select options. We have a number of those fields and have to edit again, add, etc.

In the answer to one of your FAQs “Can I wrap text inside cells?” there is a note “Finally, our gallery view offers a card-based layout which supports multi-line text fields.” When the field type is a link to another entry however, there is no multi-line support. I am trying to use Airtable for my daily agenda and it would be great to see the ALL the links/values in the gallery view, especially when the title of the link is long, but the formatting only allows for one line.

It would be so great if each workspace had a friendly user interface dashboard. So instead of clicking into a base and then to the dashboard my colleagues could open the workspace and be able to navigate all the basses easily, see reports through apps, etc. I’ve been using google sites as an alternative to this but would be really awesome to have built into Airtable itself.

This would show the last known table schema and data that was shown, but would allow to make records and sync when the mobile device comes back online. Issues would be resolved via the web to validate issues.

For the sake of sanity I beg Airtable to allow increase size of thumbnails on mobile apps iOS and Android This is getting nuts! I sold my beloved iPhone and switched to Android for the main reason that thumbnails of picture attachments in Airtable are so small on iOS. They were a little bit bigger - still small but acceptable - on Android. Now Airtable updated the design of the app on Android. While I applaud the changes and improvements the SIZE OF THE THUMBNAILS is now even smaller! About the size on iOS!! For the sake of sanity, I beg Airtable, Please allow people with less than perfect eyesight to continue using Airtable. Pictures are way better to look for individual records if searching by text is not an option. The thumbnails are now small beyond the limit of pain. I have a Rich Text Field with a hyperlink in it. When I select the entire field and copy -paste it into a a text editor or other software, the hyperlink gets lost. The same is true for other kinds of formatting, like bold, italic, etc. The formatting only gets copied correctly if I go in to edit the field, and then select and copy the text. I use Rich Text Fields and Scripts in order to generate hyperlinks in a field, but without being able to copy them, this is not so much use for me.

For our Projects base, my team would love to be able to track recurring tasks without creating a new record with a unique due date for each occurrence.

We would love the ability for Airtable’s calendars to display data from multiple tables simultaneously.Currently, Airtable’s calendars can only pull from a single table, which forces our database design so that we must somehow get all of our calendar data into a single table.This is definitely doable, but it makes things more complex because it often requires us (and our users) to jump through extra hoops.But, if the calendars could natively display data from MULTIPLE TABLES simultaneously, it would open up a whole world of possibilities — and make database design much easier for us! 🙂Thanks!

It has come to light that the VALUE() function is broken. The VALUE() function is supposed to extract numbers from a string. It’s designed to be used as a simple filtering tool to remove non-numbers from a field. This is how it is documented on the formula field reference page. Instead, the VALUE() function does at least 2 completely different things: The VALUE() function converts certain letters into numbers, and then multiplies those numbers by the closest numbers that it can find! This issue is documented here:  

If I duplicate a Page Designer Block and change the settings to point to a new table, the entire block configuration is cleared. I would expect any field included in the Block configuration where an identically named field exists in the new table would remain in the duplicated Block. any field configured in the Block where an identically named field does not exist in the new table to have some sort of placeholder error display. any static text defined in the Block to remain. While I can understand Item 2 being addressed as a new feature request, and I’d grudgingly be willing to live with Item 1 as the same, i can’t see any reason for Item 3 not to be considered a bug… Items 1, 2, and 3 are needed for Airtable to be considered a robust development platform. Hey! When we choose a cover field for the gallery view, we have two options: Crop or Fit.My suggestion is to add more options there. It would be useful to have an alignment setting when the cover field is cropped.By default the pictures are centred. I made some mockups of how the option would look like, and the impact it would have on my specific use case. Default would be the same:

I have a simple feature request. At the moment the keyboard shortcut to access the Filter menu is Ctrl-Shift-F. I would like Ctrl-Alt-F added to open the Filter menu with the current selected column as the field to filter by. It cuts out a step.

I would like the ability to format the “List of records” in the email action as a grid, the same way as you can do with the “Send records as email” right-click option

Hello Airtable, Please, please please reverse this change!Double-clicking on the field name now only modifies the name of the field. It is a pain to have to right-click to access this menu. I don’t want to be overdramatic and claim this will totally ruin Airtable, but it’s much less efficient than the old method.I also noticed that when creating a new field, the field type is now the first dialog. Then we are prompted to put in a name. This is fine and I can get used to the new workflow. I understand that this reduces the number of times I use “Tab” to move between dialog boxes.I love Airtable and hope it continues to make progress! Just not the progress I don’t like :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

[This was originally posted in another forum section] In Baserow (another online spreadsheet), it’s possible to create as many tokens as you need to access your bases/sheets/tables. Each token has specific access rights (create, read, update, delete) for each table, so that way you can put some API keys in your code without worrying about the more sensitive data getting exposed. It would be great to see that kind of feature with Airtable.

I’m interested in dragging and dropping linked items between columns/fields of the same type. For example, you might have a column for ‘software in use’ and one for ‘software archive’, both of which refer to types of software listed in another table. It would be great to be able to drag an item from one spot to another similar to how an Airtable user can drag and drop items within a list once the detail modal is opened.

It should be possible to make a form that requires authentification in order to make sure that “Created by” is populated with the appropriate Airtable user when the form is submitted. The question was posted here but it does not seem that this is currently possible.

I’m sure you get tired when you have oto many views to scroll every time. I think it would be very practical if every user was able to see only the views they use the most and hide the others into some kind of folders or even icons.
