Linked Records are currently limited to a single table per column in another table. But I’d like to combine records from 2 or more tables into a single column in an additional table. In other words, polymorphic relationships.What I’d like to DoI have a table of Client A’s Products and a table of Client B’s Products. They need to be combined into a Products column on a third table, Employee Assignments. Both product tables store data very differently, so combining them into a single table would result in an excessively wide and long Products table. Something that would be hopefully rather easy to implement is adding support for a location text field in the generated calendar feeds. Ie. just a regular text field that is turned into a LOCATION line in the iCal feed.

*Update multiple records I can’t believe I couldn’t find someone else who had requested this, so I’m afraid that the feature already exists and I can’t find it, or I’m lousy at searching. It’s common in a database to “update x=y where a=b” to change data in multiple records at once. It would be great to do this through an update all records shown in a filter view. Is this too complicated to do in this type of interface? Or is it already possible?

A problem we often come across is we can’t change the display name of the record in calendar view or linked field – it always takes the primary field. A workaround is to use ‘formula’ as the primary field to customize the display name. However this causes further issues: You might want a different display name for different purposes. Eg. When a project record links to several tasks fields, you want to show the task name only. But when displaying all task fields in a calendar view, you want to show the task name AND the related project name. Project: write a blog post about X; links to 3 tasks “find cover image”, “research” and “write” But when displaying the calendar in Tasks table, I’d like to see “Find cover image[assignee][status]” or some other form of display. These short tasks names fit nicely within the Project record view

I would love to see some kind of reminder or alert system for items that are setup to display on Calendar views. One of my bases has a table that is used to keep track of follow-up calls to potential customers. If they’re called once and we schedule a follow-up, I have a column with a date/time format and a calendar based on that field. Without alerts, users are advised to check their calendar each morning and afternoon for upcoming scheduled follow-ups, but it would be great when adding a date/time to a column that is tied to a calendar if there could also be an option for reminders or alerts. Maybe something like Outlook reminders, 15 minutes before the time and the option to snooze for 5 minutes or dismiss completely. Additionally, I’ve noticed that the view of records in the Calendar doesn’t persist when you leave and come back in. For instance, this table has over 1200 records but only some are going to have follow-up times on them. I change the view in the top right

It would be great if we could group records in a gallery visualization

Would love to see this. I’m using it mostly for web publishing and I’m trying to think of how to work around not having this.

It would be nice to be able to flag some fields in the “Import blocks” as just containing static values that relate to that type of import, that don’t exist in the source data. For example, 10 fields may come dynamically from the source file, but one might just be a static value of the source system etc.

I would like a way to easily copy and paste columns, along with entries, field type, etc. from one base to another.

Would love to see a notes feature included in the field type box.This would allow users to provide more context on the field being used… or the categories of the content within that field’s functionality. I.e. if there’s a multiple select; defining what each selection represents.

First of all, many compliments on the android app: I love it and it is very user friendly and intuitive. Now, when adding an attachment to a record, the options are: camera and file picker. But I need to make and attach a pdf using the phone camera… Currently if the user attaches a picture using the phone’s camera, Airtable allows the user to choose which camera app to use, which gave me this idea: Is there a way to force the camera trigger to open CamScanner or AdobeAcrobat or AdobeScan? At the moment, when I want to attach a pdf, I have to open CamScanner or AdobeAcrobat take a picture using the camera app from within the PDF app, then save the file, then open Airtable, then open the file picker, find the file and hit attach, wait for the upload… TKO / RIP -.- x-| As a work around, I have thought of attaching a file using evernote but have not yet tried this. Hey, I would love to be add entries to a linked field by scanning barcodes with a mobile device. This would be a great way to implement inventory or attendance tracking quickly and easily. This would require adding a “barcode” search option to the linked records popup.

I have a table that was created by importing a spreadsheet, Can I update this table by importing an updated version of the spreadsheet that I used to create the table initially. I get information from an MRP system that can out put to Excel. I use Airtable as a way to easily manage this data for myself and others. I have sent shared links to others so they can access this data as well. If simply created another table from the imported data the links I sent to the others would no longer work. Therefore, it would be better to update the original data. Or would I need to erase all the data, import the new spreadsheet in another table, the copy and paste all the data back to the original table.

Requested feature I’d like public users to view two pictures (single record) and vote which they prefer. Right now, I can only expose a blank form. Effect on current pricing model Seems to violate a boundary for the business model (only named users can access updatable data). Maybe the boundary can be maintained by only allowing a single field to be edited?

I have lots of tables and views. I’d love to see maybe a drop down at the top of the base to select favorite views for ones I go to frequently.

Hello Airtable Powers that Be!Please consider the option of adding Conditional Coloring on top of a Single Select Field Coloring scheme.Below are two use-cases that seem like simple leaps from the current mode of operation:I often want to supersede the single select color field, but only under a set of conditions. Otherwise, the single select field is the perfect color scheme.Imagine two single select fields: (1) Description, (2) Urgency/Priority/Status. I often color records by the description, but want to supersede that color when the Urgency goes to “High”.Also, please note that for me the current coloring of records in grid view is not very useful. However, when integrated with the blocks like the Gantt block ,flowchart block, or calendar view, they become indispensable.Thank you!!

Is it possible to access the color of a single select field in a formula?This would be a huge help when creating complex color schemes. So far, simply coloring a view by the single select field has never achieved my requirements. I typically want to have the flexibility to add conditional colors on top of the single select colors. If I could directly access the colors of a single select field, that would significantly simplify the formulas I currently have to use to color these views.I became curious when I noticed automations are able to access the color property of a single select field. I appreciate the ability to print a data view. I find it particularly useful for printing grouped grid views. However, it would be nice to have a few more formatting options (similar to the page designer block). For example:– custom formatting of summary rows (put summary rows in bold text, different font size, and/or select a background field color to highlight them, for example)– the ability to customize headers/footers with static text (a description of the report, for example), a time stamp, or a graphic element like a company logo

I would like the ability to filter Kanban STACKS. When working in a Kanban view with multiple screens of stacks (for example, 30+ stacks), it can be quite laborious to drag and drop cards from the “uncategorized” stack to my stack of choice. Being able to collapse stacks does help, though this is tedious with so many stacks. If there was an option to filter out stacks, like one can filter records/cards, that could make the process of dragging records smoother. Alternatively, an “Expand/Collapse All Stacks” button would be efficient, allowing the user to easily collapse and expand all stacks for ease of navigating the view.

I’m using Airtable at a small car dealership, and wanted to know if there is a way to automatically move a record to a different table, while keeping it’s info intact. For instance. I have a table of current inventory. If that inventory sells, I don’t need it on the Current Inv. tab. I know I can put a checkbox for SOLD and filter it out, but then it still comes up in lists when I’m linking to current inventory from another table. And that will eventually become an incredibly long list. Right now I have another table for Sold Inventory, and I have been copying and pasting the records there, but then it loses any info that was linked to it from Leads and Repairs. Is what I want possible, or can it be? Thanks

We currently create PDF production calendars for clients utilizing google docs. It would be great to use the calendar view to generate these, however, the print to PDF function is pretty useless as is because the calendar view cuts off the primary field if it doesn’t fit on one line. It’s fine when using online since you can click on each item to expand the record, but it would be nice to print these out directly from Airtable without having to export it to some other calendar software.

When viewing Airtable case studies at Airtable Universe (Airtable Universe), I was struck by the sidebar featuring a list of custom views, and how useful it a feature it would be in the main Airtable app – it provides a helpful list of views at a glance, and switching between views is a single click, versus the two it takes now with the dropdown.
