I import many records at a time using the spreadsheet pasting method.However, then I have to go through and paste each image URL one-by-one into the image field, then hit upload. It would be great if pasting image URLs during your Bulk Spreadsheet Paste would just detect that it is a URL and auto-upload! Yay!

Hi,We’ve been waiting a long time for the “Created by” field and are glad it’s here. Before this we were manually recording this data in a “Record created by” collaborator field. We’d like to add this data into the empty fields that have been created by adding the new “Created by” field to existing tables.Stephen

Hi, can you please add the ability to control the search patterns inside the search block? For example, add the ability to perform exact match search when searching across tables. Right now, search results bring back too many records to sift through.In general, would be good to have more control over the search pattern. Maybe you can add RegEx capabilities to the Search Block.Thanks for your consideration.

Continuing the discussion from New Data Type: Location:Anybody figured out how to capture GPS location from phone yet? I upgraded to the map block & connected API already. Trying to verify field-service agents were at specific locations (and on schedule) throughout the day. This is a simple “check-in” feature with other apps I’ve used. Thx!

In the map block, the “Get Directions” button for a location opens up a Google Maps browser window with the directions to the reverse-geocoded address of that location. This is a problem if that address is unknown to Google Maps (like a location in a middle of field). For example: Airtable geocoded a GPS coordinate as “Unnamed Road, Hotolo, South Africa”. When clicking on the “Get Directions” button in Airtable, Google Maps opens up, but it cannot find the location and the directions cannot be displayed. Instead, rather use the original GPS coordinates for the directions link to Google Maps.

I use Airtable for project management. One category I use for every task is Priority, which is a single-select field. I begin typing in the field I want, e.g., “nex” for “Next Week,” hit enter, and it adds it automatically. (In case you’re curious, I keep my hands on the keyboard as much as possible, so using a mouse or trackpad is a waste of time.)Unfortunately quite often Airtable does not recognize my shorthand and instead creates a brand new single-select field (in the case above “nex”), which I do not want. This happens multiple times during my weekly review. Every. Single. Monday. It requires me to click customize field type, delete the erroneous new entry, and confirm that I really don’t want it. It’s frustrating because it is ridiculous.My suggestion: allow users to disable custom entry. That way, when I begin typing in the field, it can select only my predetermined ones. I just wanted to say awesome work to the AirTable team on the development environment inside scripting blocks. I like coding in it even more than using WebStorm/intelliJ, which I’ve always considered state of the art!The one feature I think that would make it even more helpful would be to have a shortcut to copy and paste the previous line or highlighted section (cmd + d in WebStorm). This would be HUGELY helpful. An example scenario is this. You have a list of clients in a table, complete with email addresses. When you select a particular client, that email address is fed into the Embed block URL which happens to be a Gmail search for that particular address, effectively showing you message history for that client. Allowing for dynamic URLs to be used for the Embed block in this way would be fantastic & could have so many other uses!

It looks like some people are enjoying the map block, but it isn’t very helpful for us for these reasons:It simply gives a map with dropped pins of all the addresses that you are currently looking at in your current view. We don’t want to see all of our addresses simultaneously on a map at the same time — we just want to see the map location of the current record that we are currently interacting with.But — if you want to see the map location for just a single record in your view, you have to filter your entire list for just that one record.The map block also requires you to switch the block to full screen mode to see the map, which is not ideal. It would be great if it was viewable off to the side.Even if you just have a single pin on your map (i.e. you filtered your entire list down to just one record), the map block doesn’t zoom you into the pin.What our users want is just the most simple & common

After submitting a form, it would be cool for Airtable to send me to a View (sorta like “show results after submitting a form” in google forms) OR land on custom URL so I can send myself to my own page or View.

ProblemOften when a base starts off, look-up fields are appropriate for several use cases. As the scope increases, roll-up fields looking at the same fields become much more valuable. However, changing to a roll up field is not a simply click or two.A Use CaseCurrently when changing the field type of a look up field to a roll up field, the properties of the look up field are erased and both the linked record field and field to be looked up must be input again. This requires several extra steps to make sure I remember the setup correctly (especially with several similar or progressive fields in both tables). Hello! I like to use Airtable to prototype ideas and share them. One of the latest prototypes I’ve put together is a databse of aftermarket parts for the Toyota Supra. However one of the thing that bugs me is that there isn’t anyway for me to gauge interest, view count for the whole base or specific items would be great to see if this is something I should put more effort into and test if I’m reaching product-market fit. Would love to see this integrated as I have more ideas I want to MVP using Airtable. PS: I can’t post links here but would be happy to share

I have a large base that uses about 100 different views, filtered to allow password-protected access to different records for different people. Whenever I make changes to the “master view” (which is fairly often) I then need to copy the configuration of this into each individual view separately. Is there any way to do this “in bulk”, all at once? That would be great!

All - I think it would be helpful if there was a block that showed the fields of the single record summary in context rather than having to expand the record. Maybe there is a way of doing this but I have not figured it out. Thanks Jonathan

One dashboard where you can configure your custom shortcuts to add quickly new records to the tables of your liking.

Hi,We create a lot of views in our Airtable to share with clients, but all these views have to be deleted after a while. It’s a long list of views, and manually deleting each one is a very long and inconvenient process.Instead of going through the whole views list, clicking a view, deleting it, and doing that over and over – isn’t there any way to do this in bulk, or just quicker?I’ve checked the API docs and find nothing on handling views, so I’m afraid I’m out of luck there too?Anyone got any ideas?

Automatically copy data from one table to another table.

When opening an attached document in Airtable it blocks the view of the record. It would be handy when a document opened in a new window, to be able to read an opened document and the connected record at the same time (for example to make notes/description from the document into the record).

On a multiselect, each option can have a color. The autocomplete (when typing on a desktop) or color options to tap (when on mobile) is also very visually pleasing. If you convert it to a record to another table, both desktop and mobile change quite a bit. You have to manually type out a few letters to get options. They’re not color coded. It’s just way different. I have a very important multiselect that I’m downright afraid to convert. It’s too important to lose those (seemingly small) features. So I have another table which I manually update when I add a new option to the multiselect. This is less than ideal. It means I can’t get a count of how many of each option exist across the table. Would be cool if you could bridge the gap here.

Airtable is so powerful already, but where it currently falls down is as a wiki substitute. I want to be able to use a long text field (or equivalent) to describe some aspect of my record and include in it some links to other records in a contextual way, as I would do with a wiki. If I could @ them like I do my airtable users, that would be ideal.

In many different areas of Airtable, important fields have their information completely cut off.You can see this with calendar views, gallery views, kanban views, forms, and linked records.Below is an example of a cut-off linked record. What year is the linked record? Is the time of the linked record AM or PM?What makes this kind of absurd is that Airtable actually KNOWS that these are date & time fields, but Airtable itself doesn’t even give enough room for its own date & time fields to display properly.

I really like using 10,000ft tool for resource management. It would be awesome if we can enhance the gantt block to do something similar where you have quick way of seeing if a resource is over-utilized and where we need to adjust.

Given the inability to link across bases, being able to either set the viz of individual tables in a base or even create base-level views that show different sets of tables, would be great. I can’t imagine the former would be that difficult.

It would be really helpful to have access to the reference tables that are used to store data in single select fields, so that you could use the same reference data for single select cells in other tables within the same base rather than having to replicate entries manually
