I didn’t know how to say this concisely in the subject line. It’s nice that groups have the options for sum, average, etc of that group. However, I’d like to be able to change the calculation of the entire view separately from the groups. Let me give an example as I know that wasn’t clear.I keep track of time spent and the associated hourly rate. I have 3 views that group my times by each day, each week, and each month. This way I can see at a glance if I’ve met my daily, weekly, and monthly goals. For example, in the monthly view, each week is grouped and I can see the total (sum) of my hours per group. At the bottom of the page, it also sums the total of all the groups combined. Makes sense. However, If I want to see the average time spent per month, when I change the bottom calculation to average, the individual groups change to average as well. So now the groups show my average number of hours per day and of course the bottom calculation averages my daily averages. I’d like to be a

Hi. I am currently in testing mode with Airtable and have to say: I really like it. There is one thing which I currently came up with and I would like to share: New field type “Action Button” which triggers an action (the one I am thinking of is something like mail the record to someone, sending any kind of answer/feedback … there maybe more actions) which could be very useful esp. when your table is shared via html. Can we please implement an iterator field or a formula based on a same-field, different-record lookup?There are some extremely elaborate base structures just to overcome the fact that Airtable currently does not support any type of iterative formula.A simple example: I have two tablesProjects TableTasks TableI assign records in the Tasks table to a project, lets say 3-50 tasks per project. Then each task is linked to the next and previous task (a pain in itself currently, but lets not worry about that here). I simply want to sort by task number in the sequence. This sounds easy, but currently isn’t!If I could have a formula field that simply looked up the same field on a linked record and added 1, I would be golden! It would be really great if search could also index pdf attachments added to a file field. Others might like other file formats like raw text, HTML, MS Word, but for me pdf would be the best. This would make Airtable search competitive with Spotlight on a Mac, where all files are automatically indexed.

currently this appears to be not selectable. It does wipe out existing data in the field. I thought OK in the else condition just return self, or the same column that it is calculating, but this cannot be selected, yikes! In order to archive lookup or rollup data a formula can be used in a field which based on date copies the values to a numeric field. It is important that such a function retain existing data in the the field. Currently since on else clause erases existing data and there appears to be no way to reference the field we are defining there is not automated way to do this. Please allow reference to self or the same field for this purpose. Thank you, Any suggestions are most welcome.

The schemes could be use to open a view, a specific record, toggle a check box on a specific record. Working with the Time tracker block I find it would be very useful if a View could be selected.In my database there are many records. Most of the time I want to record time on an existing record and finding the right record is not easy. Also, many of these records correspond to tasks or activities that happened in the past and therefore I will not be tracking time on them anymore. If I could select a View, in my opinion, it would improve the usability of the block because I could filter in advance the records on which I want to record time.

These days I think a lot of people would find it very useful to have a better way of wrapping their heads around how to maintain social distancing in the workplace across many shifts, but with varied staff each with different responsibilities. I think Airtable is ideal for this.I made a sample with a fictional biotech company here, but there’s many many potential applications.Can we make this happen?

Please can we add grouping to views in iOS apps? This simple feature is, in part, stopping me from being able to transition my workflow to an entirely iOS ecosystem.

If you like it, please say so in the comments and maybe we can get Airtable’s attention on it.I have a list of emails from a survey with some other fields, and I want to export a selection of those emails to CSV. My selection criteria is based on a long text field which could contain anything. My selection criteria hence cannot be made into a filter.Simply put: I just want to select a bunch of rows arbitrarily, and export that selection to a CSV file.That’s it!

Hi, I suggest an usefull feature that will help a lot the forms for complicated table.On any form view, the Submit button will offer an option “Link other table”If my current table have field linked with other table, it will suggest one of those, then it will propose the list of forms views of the other tables.When the form filler will clic submit, it will redirect his webpage to the other form & automaticly link the record.Example of case scenario ;CRM Base with these tables : Lead, MeetingsIn this scenario the Lead table will have a form view called “New Lead”. The first thing the form filler will see is “Enter you informations, name, address, business…”, then when he clic “Next”(The submit button), at this point he will be redirected to the “Book a meeting” form of the Meeting table then he will chose a meeting date and a brief description of what he want in this meeting. Then he will clic submit, and at this point the system will automaticly link the Lead record with the Meetin

I feel like the forms would really benefit if there was an E-Signature selection. At the moment we currently use a E-Signature form software & Zapier to then update our Airtable base. 👍

When I try to have important information from another table shown in my current table, I use the lookup field. But what I don’t like is that the lookup is transformed into a simple text representation.So when I lookup a “single select” field that has rounded borders and colors, as a lookup, it’s only text with no color and no round borders.When I lookup a priority field with a star representation it’s even worse. It gets transformed into a number. So instead of having 4 stars, I get the number 4. Which is harder to read.All lookup fields lose their color and visual representation, which makes the table look dull and hard to read.I’d like to request the feature that lookup fields look exactly like in the table looked up from. If it’s pink hearts, it should be pink hearts. If it’s colored single select fields it should look like it. Information would be much easier to read and look at this way.CheersChris

Filters should have an on/off feature. So rather than completely remove or adding a filter on/off feature could enable/disable a filter. This could help reduce the number of views that would need to be created which would help in cleaning up blocks

If every detail is entered and clicking a button to show the result calculation will be useful in many ways… Like calculating freight rate, profit finder, eligibility etc, By entering selling price, cost, weight and clicking button will give profit percentage? Say for shipping calculator, by entering weight, dimensions, etc., can give the formulated result? It can be done in table but if we can present it in a calculator type view it will be beneficial… Hope I’m making sense in explaining ::doubt::

Description I’m looking for the ability to prefill an entire form, existing up-to-date record in a table, based on the record_id only. Although I could share the URL with prefill_name the data can quickly become stale as many stakeholders will likely complete different pieces of each record. Airtable is such a wonderful app, I can create forms. But I would love to use Airtable to enable paperless application forms that require signature. Such as Leave application for HR purpose. Applicant needs to sign the form, and the immediate supervisor needs to approve or not approve it. Thank you. I am trying to solve the following problem: One table lists all our available products, another table lists projects/jobs in which our products were used and sold for. A rollup on the inventory table counts how many times each product was sold. But here is the problem - in the project/job table I have an option column that allows me to list a job either as “bid” or as “actual sale”. A custom view in that project table allows me to easily view bids and sales, but the rollup in the inventory table counts both options, bids and sales. Is there a way to tell the rollup to only count sales and ignore bids? That to me sounds like a pretty standard database function, but I cannot figure out how to do it in Airtable. I am really grateful for any advice.
