Mobile-friendly interface: To make the AIRTABLE interface more mobile-friendly, the following improvements could be made: Design the interface to be responsive to different screen sizes and resolutions, so that it can be used on any device without losing functionality or readability. Simplify the interface by removing unnecessary elements and prioritizing the most important ones, to make it easier to use on a small screen. Use larger fonts and clear, high-contrast colors to ensure that all text and visual elements are easy to read and distinguish.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Make Interfaces available on the iPad How does is solve the user problems? In construction, we use iPads for most of our inspection and statusing. To not have an interface useable on the iPad app is a major barrier to being able to use this in the field. How was this validated? ... Who is the target audience? Anyone who uses Airtable not sitting down

What is the proposed idea/solution? Airtable already allows barcode scanning in regular views, we need to make sure it works when a Form is being used How does is solve the user problems? It's intuitive for users that the feature would be available on the Form version. It also allows non-editors to have an easier way to enter data without needing a login How was this validated? Not sure I understand the questions Who is the target audience? Surveyors or anyone who wants field used

I have around 150 field techs that upload completion reports to my Airtable base. the process needs to be clean and simple as a lot of the techs are subcontractors and just getting them to use my Airtable form can be a challenge. One issue I have is that photos captured within the form are not also stored on the device, unless they take the photo first, then open the form, and select the image from their phone gallery. This process is a little cumbersome. 90% of the time there is no problem but occasionally the form must be failing on submission so the entries do not show up, and when I ask the techs to resubmit they don’t have a copy of the images on their phones. So I need to pay for them to return to site and get photos again. I’ve tried to get them to take photos first, then open the form… But it’s just not as user friendly to do this. Is it possible for photos captured within the form while using a smart phone, to also save to the users device?

Hi! I am using an iframe of a table in my site… but if you look at it on the phone there are no ways to search it. can you please add that for mobile? we have over 400 members to search thru… thanks!

I’ve only just started using Airtable so maybe this is already a thing. However I was wondering it could be possible to view interfaces the iOS app not only on a desktop.

Hi. I think that it will be very useful to have a built-in search in shared views (grid as well as gallery view) available from mobile phones. Sharing database with lot of information without possibility to find specific data makes shared view useless in some way. And since using Airtable from a mobile is a daily routine, the ability to search the database seems to me to be a feature of first necessity. I know that it possible to use browser “find on a page”, but that not so obvious and requires two additional clicks. Also, search in shared base is not always working well. Latest Chrome on Xiaomi mi9: The search result overlaps other elements of the page (grid view). Got a request / question: I want to share a grid view with a sales team who will primarily be viewing the base on their mobile devices. The base is large (around 2000 records) so a search function is essential, however whilst search is available on the desktop shared view it isn’t available on the mobile shared view. Is there any plans to introduce this? Or even better, a workaround? Thanks Ross

The button is way to small in the mobile app, impossible to click on first try, sometimes need to click 10 times to hit it. It’s not a problem with the application or iOS or Android but the close button is too small. The issue is on iOS (iPad mini smaller screen than iPad) and maybe also Android, don’t know.) I am a regular use of the AirTable iOS app, but have two requests / issues that I encounter on a daily basis. I usually attach some attachments (images for the most part) to my records and about 50-60% of the time, the attachments fail to upload to the record (ie. due to some issues with AirTable server, mobile network connectivity, etc.–actually unknown as there are no logs, just silently fails from an user perspective). It would be awesome if the iOS app had some local caching / management and syncing functionality built into the attachments feature so my uploads don’t get lost on “failure”. Since there is no notification that the upload has failed and they are just dropped, I don’t usually notice that my attachments are missing until I review the record several days later and then I have to track down and mentally re-associate attachments with the record. To the iOS devs: a simple temporary fix would be to add some type of retry logic in the failure callback of the upload call. Another issue I am having related to images is I will usually attach multiple images to a record. It would be awesome if I could select multiple images in the gallery. Otherwise, I have to upload images one by one, and if the image is “far down” the image gallery, I have to scroll all the way back down and find out which image I need to upload. Anybody else having these issues with attachments and/or have a solution/workaround for the time being?
