Frankly, this should have been implemented by now. I shouldn’t have to manually keep track of stats run per automation. Why is this important? Well, once you hit your 50K runs/month limit, the first sane thing you’ll want to do is: Figure out which Automation was responsible for contributing THE MOST to this months quota. Does Airtable provide any built-in way to manage this? No. So you’re left spending more dev cycles implementing some hokey third-party webhook system to capture EVERY Automation Run evaluation and writing the date of each evaluation out to something like a Google Sheet (because Google Sheets don’t have a 50K record limit). Then, once your stats are in Google Sheet, you need to spend time building graphs split by Automation Name to see how many executions ran per minute/per day/per week to figure out likely culprits. Again, more time wasted. Next, once you find the culprit Automations, you might want to search the Automation Run logs to around the time WHEN THE SPIKE HAPPENED. Does Airtable allow you to do this? Sure – you can pull up the run logs… AND THEN YOU HAVE TO MASSIVELY SCROLL through historical logs – there’s no way to say “take me to the run logs back on 2022-04-15 @ 12:25 UTC” exactly – no, you’re left manually scrolling and clicking the “more” button for ever… and ever… and ever… and… well, you get the point. Oh, and while we’re on this topic, when Airtable generates an email saying that an Automation Run encountered an error – unless you click that email within about 1-2 minutes of receiving it – let’s say you open up the email like 1-2 days later, IT DOES NOT AUTO-SCROLL you to the location in the logs where the error took place … No! Instead, you’re left to have to manually scroll again through the logs to figure out where it was located. TL;DR: Automation Run logs suck; there’s no way to scroll or search them by time, keyword (sorely needed) We need Automation Run stats, in the form of graphs showing executions by day – split by Automation Name. This helps users not exceed Automation Run quotas.

Is there anyway we can get notifications to be more customized. For example, i want notifications for when I am tagged in a comment but I do not want them when there is just a general note. Currently the only way to do this is if we mark each data entry as “not watching”. While this is possible it is meticulous and repetitive Thanks Ron

Custom workspace announcements that can be pushed to all bases and/or visible at the workspace level. This would be handy in a distributed team / enterprise environment where each team operates in their own base within a single workspace. Implementation ideas: either in a form of a custom notification event, a popup banner inside the base or workspace, or an Airtable made announcements app (we have third party apps disabled in our environment for security reasons).

We have many views that records pass through as certain criteria is met. Eg. The “photo is ready for loading view”. Currently a user must open a view to see if there is a record (or more) in it that needs attention. Would be great if on a view we could switch on “notification” which would then show a red button on the view title in the left view menu with the number of records in the view showing inside the red the button. Just like messaging on your phone. Then at a glance we can see what needs to be done.

It would be great to have an option to view comments you’ve made so you can easily track what comments you are waiting for a response on. It would also be great to have the option to flag or save important comments for later. This would be particularly helpful for my team as we have naturally moved away from email and towards using Airtable commenting features.

Can you please provide an alert that will warn me (notification or email or both) if there is an excessive run of Automations. Recently I had an error in my formula. Unfortunately that error caused an Automation to run constantly and it was running for hours, I don’t know how long but after a day or so I ran out of the 50,000 automations. That was completely unnecessary and I would have stopped by fixing the formula (or pausing automation and then fixing formula). Anyhow, I would say there should be a warning if I am reaching 50%, 75% and 90% of allocated automations. I am not asking Airtable to kick me off the grid and disable those Automations completely, but rather warn me about the situation. That would save resources on Airtable servers and prevent me running dry and then have to wait till the months is over to get replenished again. I know Airtable provides higher plan upgrade but I think in this case this is all just wasted electricity 😉

My issue is my Notification window shows notifications for issues and errors with automation across entire workspace. If there are multiple clones of the same base, it is impossible to tell which notification is for which base. I have to click on the notification and it takes me to the base. That’s OK if I have time to deal with all, but if all is want I want to focus on the issues for a specific base, I can’t tell which is which. Yes, sure, I can change the name of the automation but it won’t help once I copy clone the base, I will need to rename all the automations. It would be nice if there was name of the base under the date/time of the notification.

This has been driving me crazy for years now. Airtable is incredible, and I use it for so many things, but it’s never been suitable for high-quality collaboration because the email/notification system is really feature poor. The way @mentions, collaborator fields, and instant notifications work, it’s a total inbox nightmare. I realise Automations are one way of changing how emails and notificaitons work, but they only add to the inbox pool, as you cannot disable or change notification settings on a base-by-base basis. What’s even more frustrating is how simple these would be to fix with a few base-wide settings. Disable ALL notifications except @mentions Disable “Watching” on records Disable “Auto-Watching” when a collaborator is assigned to a record Any variation of those would instantly fix these issues for a lot of threads I’ve seen with similar complaints. Someone called it a “boy who cries wolf” inbox situation. Another, probably more complicated fix, would be queueing email notifications in batches (like Trello). Instead sending an email anytime anything changes on a record instantly, maybe queue them for a couple minutes, or add the option, so you have some leeway on accidently sending someone an incorrect email on an incorrect record change. Thanks team, this software is incredible, it just is in dire need of some notification attention.

It would be very helpful to have the ability to set up some kind of notification for changes to the base structure (adding/removing/renaming columns or tables). Not having this ability results in having to manually review our bases for changes when something breaks. :grimacing:

We do a lot of tagging others here at our company to comment on records. It would be nice to be able to have a super loud chime when someone tags you in a record. It’s hard to read 20-30 notifications and find the ones i’m tagged in rather than just “bill commented on…” when it doesn’t pertain to me anymore. I’m talking for the PC. I know that you can set it up for ios. Just maybe some better all around push notifications for PC?
