I know this has been posted many times before, but we need a real solution to allow for grouping by multi-select fields in a way that makes all records associated with at least that value shown in the value grouping. Yes, this might result in one record appearing multiple times in a grid view. Yes, that is desirable. Notion users know that this is much more intuitive and user-friendly than the way Airtable handles this behavior. --- Here's a real example for us: We do project planning in Airtable across quarters. Projects may span multiple quarters (multi-select field). There is no way to view all projects grouped by quarter where all Q1 projects are collected in a single group! As a designer, it boggles my mind that it behaves this way...

What is the proposed idea/solution? Currently, there's no way for an element (i.e. a Kanban element) to be connected to multiple filter elements. This would be useful for example if a user needs to create an interface with multiple sections. The interface having a main general filter affecting all the elements in each section, and each section containing secondary particular filter elements. The connection here would be "AND" between the filter elements. How does is solve the user problems? This would allow making the interface much simpler, instead of repeating the same filter elements over and over again across all the filter elements of the page, a general filter would be set at the beginning of the interface and the following optional/secondary filters would be left for each section across the interface. Currently the interfaces with this approach are super repetitive and a user needs to apply a single filter multiple times. How was this validated? ... Who is the target audience? ...

Imagine a panel above the tables that toggled a group of tables! This way, you could have big bases organized a lot better. I have some bases which have a different sections that are co-related.. it'd be nice to organize the "Enrollment" section as separate from the "Registration" section and as separate from the "Billing" Section without having to do complex base syncing. I like having everything from one business in one base but the table tabs fill up quick!

What is the proposed idea/solution? Allowing forms to create NEW linked records, rather than only allowing to select from a list of already existing linked records. In other words, the ability for a form to have its Parent form submission, and one or multiple Child form submissions (for the linked records). See Fillout's solution as an example. Dummy scenario: If I want to submit information for a Family (Family table) and for the members of the Family (Members table) which can be one or multiple, I would not be able to do this from only one Airtable Form. I would need to submit one form for the Family information, and separate forms for each Member. How does is solve the user problems? Would avoid having to integrate different softwares, build dirty automations, or handling re-directs, just for the sake of creating linked records. How was this validated? This issue comes up with plenty of my clients, multiple questions have been asked on the Community on how to handle this, and it has been a topic of discussion with fellow builders and consultants. However, I'm not sure whether it has been actually submitted as a "New Idea"/Feature Request (if it was already, I'm super sorry -however it might be useful to bring it up again!). Basically, Airtable forms do not allow to create NEW linked records from the form itself (i.e. we can currently only select from a dropdown of already existing linked records). There are obviously several different workarounds such as: (i) using other form softwares (e.g. Fillout which I really love, but is still a pain to need additional integration just for this); (ii) handling the creation of new linked fields from interfaces rather than forms (i.e. would mean treating the interface itself as a pseudo form); (iii) having temporary fields on the main table which are only used to push data via an automation for the creation of the linked field (super dirty solution which I would almost never recommend); and (iv) others. However, all of those solutions are far from ideal. Who is the target audience? Airtable users who need to capture information via forms for a base with multiple linked tables (I'd say almost every Airtable user). Thanks!!

Sometimes, we need to temporary enable some filters. So filters should be able to be disabled and enabled because creating filter every-time takes time. For example, I want to shift all the dates of a view after specific date. So temporarily, I can limit the data using filter of that view. Bulk update and Disable filter again. Thanks!

I think a key missing feature is the ability to embed items into an interface. I think this could take one of two (or both) forms. 1. A field that functions kind of like a "document" field. You insert an embed link. When viewed in a base, or in a grid/list view, it just shows as a preview - But when viewed in a record details pane - it translates to a custom sizable-embedded page. Each record's embedded view is based on the link in the field - just like the Button field type. 2. A "hard-coded" form - kind of like the difference between the "button field type" and the buttons you can set up in an interface. In the from-scratch interface builder - there would be a new element type called "Embed" where you could manual populate to with whatever embedded link needed. For example a google doc - or a news feed, etc. This by itself would accomplish half of the ideas that users have been putting forward for new automation triggers and integrations.

When I am searching for a linked record, I can only search if I know the first field (locked) for that table. However, when I start typing, I can see other fields listed in the options for each record that comes up. I’d like to search by those other fields, that will still get me to that linked record, not by just the first field. Example. Many of the linked records are listed like XMANS, XMAND, MANGS, UMIMG, UMIMA I can’t remember all of these codes, but I know what I am searching for - so if I typed something like “Ear Mite” it would show me possible linked records to choose from, of which I would select UMIMG. Hopefully that makes sense - will try to attach an image.

In my team's usage of Airtable, we have a lot of different fields going through a lot of changes over time. On multiple occasions I've had to dig through a record's revision history, clicking Show more multiple times to get far enough to find the history that I need. In order to find a single field's history, I have to expand each of the history segments, then use ctrl+F to search the name of the field, and then click through each result to see the history I'm looking for. I would love a filter mechanism in the Revision history where users could select a specific field from their table, and the Revision history would be limited to showing only the changes made to that field.

What is the proposed idea/solution? When using the "Group by" feature, Treat the group heading as a frozen row so that it follows the user down the page until the next 'group' heading takes over, or at least make this an option for users who would find it convenient. If there are subgroups How does is solve the user problems? It doesn't make the user try to recall what the 'group' category is if they are having to scan several records that fall within a single group. I love Airtable, but this is a nightmare for a person with ADHD. I sometimes have to scan back up the page multiple times to see what 'group' records fall under. ... How was this validated? ... Who is the target audience? I think many folks would find this useful, but as a neurodivergent Airtable user who has loved being able to create systems with Airtable that *mostly* work for my brain, this one is a working memory nightmare.
