What is the proposed idea/solution? The idea is to have a table within the database that stores information about the base's users and is accessible to use for filters in interfaces without having to have copious numbers of linked records across the base. For example, the table outlines the user, their manager, team, etc... then, in the interface, I can filter to check if the current user is in a certain team and show them records if they are. ... How does it solve the user problems? It removes the need to create a multitude of references across the base. I currently, for example, have a user and a team table, and each has multiple reference fields to outline how they relate to others, like their managers, their manager's managers, anyone who should have visibility over this person's records, etc... This would allow me to instead have the following filters: - if record owner is current user (currently possible) - if current user is in X team - if current user is in leadership team These wouldn't be possible without linking the X and/or leadership team to each record in the table, which isn't very efficient to do, particularly if you have thousands of records. ... How was this validated? Doing a lot of work around the visibility of records within Airtable interfaces based on values in the table. ... Who is the target audience? Bases that have multiple people working in them. ...

In my experience, tags are things that are added by the user, not by the admin. While tagging photos for example, it's almost impossible to predict what tags will be used. Make it so that I can add items in the multiselect interface. This could be an option in the field definition "Allow users to add options". This would work well with the other feature request I saw on here about showing how many of the other tags there are.

What is the proposed idea/solution? would love to be able to utilize groups in a great capacity then permissions. It would be beneficial to be able to assign a group a task in the user column or tag a specific group in the comments. How does is solve the user problems? would prevent having to tag or add multiple users if they are all in a specific group

To whom it may concern, An enhancement suggestion from Kalypso: Enable ability to allow Editor level users to add values to Multi-Select Fields. Currently Creator level is required even though I have set Field Permissions to Editor and Up for "Who can edit values in this field?". Expected Benefits: Where Owner allows through field permissions, Editor level resources would be enabled to add values to Multi-Select field. Please consider adding this capability. I created an interface that pulls from one table in my Base. With some of the demos I've seen on how interfaces can be used, I thought this would be a great way to display non-sensitive data via a public share link. Other tables in this base, however, do contain PII and cannot be shared with the public. So, after creating a lovely interface that seemed it would do exactly what was desired, I tried to share and found that I can only share with individuals who are signed in and have access to the base. Chat support let me know that the Base's permissions determine the interface's share permissions. In my specific use case, I have a base that shows all the volunteers that work with my organization, including a table for their basic contact info, a table for their engagements with us, a table for touchpoints we have with them, and another table that holds all the categories of expertise for our volunteers. The interface is based on this last table, and is a record review that tallies the number of available volunteers with each area of expertise. The data on that table is fine to share publicly, but not data from the others. Ideally, when building an interface you could choose how to share the individual interface without the whole base being set to public. Anyone with ideas of workarounds, I'm all ears!

Option to Limit the Access to Interfaces. I want to build an App for my co-workers that are not that techie. So i want to keep them from seeing the Base and only allow them to see certain areas of an Interface. Would be helpful for customers too. Sadly there is no way, as far as i can see

What is the proposed idea/solution? We need to have security features for the mobile app. 2FA, Fingerprint, maybe a secondary profile that the "Admin" can accept or deny changes. Its just too open. Double edged sword. I'm happy it exists and works for my use case but what if someone steals my phone, or a sibling's using my device opens airtable and starts deleting sht! How was this validated? You're the engineers and UX designers... you tell me. Who is the target audience? Everyone who uses the Mobile app and cares about the integrity/ security of the data

What is the proposed idea/solution? Add passcode lock feature/option for iOS App How does is solve the user problems? Airtable stores a vast amount of data which may at time be confidential or require additional security. Viewing of that data by persons other than intended could have detrimental consequencee. How was this validated? There is no lock feature in the app. Who is the target audience? Anyone who uses the mobile app.

I would like to have the ability to make certain tables non-readable to certain users. While it is possible to make tables read-only, in order to give someone access to one part of my base, and more specifically in my extensions, I have to give them read-only for all tables, at a minimum. There are times that I do not want specific users to be able to see sensitive financial information on one table, but they might need access to what's in an interface, or on a different table. I realize the permissions within Interfaces helps with this, but it doesn't help with Extensions.

When sharing the front-end of your base via link, you get to this menu: Originally, it says “Enable Shared Base Link” and there is that off/on slider. When you set it to on, it changes to “Disable shared base link”, which doesn’t make sense for a slider - the slider is indicative of “Enable Shared Base Link” being true or false. What the above picture looks like is that I’ve Disabled share base link, since that is the function and it is set to true via the slider. This is not true, as when the slider is on, my Base link is functional. If you wanted to keep the current format, you would want to change it to a button, not an on/off interface.
