What is the proposed idea/solution? Allow users to react to a comment with an emoji like 👍 or ✔️ How does is solve the user problems? Eliminates the need for confirmatory messages or extra automations. It is a courtesy from one user to another their comment was seen, especially after @ mentions. Comment sections filled with too much "Thanks!" and "Got it!" How was this validated? ... Who is the target audience? All orgs using commenting regularly ...

What is the proposed idea/solution? We need the ability to make more robust charts in interfaces. How about bringing something like the vegalite extension to interfaces? PLEASE How does it solve the user problems? Basic visualizations like overlaying a line and bar chart can't be done, but vegalite can do things like that and much more. Who is the target audience? Anyone who wants to have robust data visualization in their interface

We use Confluence regularly and can embed AT views into our pages. However, we would like to do the same with our interfaces as it makes digesting content easier. Do you think this can be a feature in 2024?

What is the proposed idea/solution? I suggest introducing a test/production environment feature in Airtable that applies to the data automations and interface sections of a base. This would allow users to create and test changes within a "test" version of a base, including data modifications and interface updates etc.. without impacting the live production environment. Once the changes have been fully tested and validated, users could publish these changes to the production environment, ensuring that the live base remains stable and unaffected during the testing phase. How does is solve the user problems? Comprehensive Risk Mitigation: It provides a safe environment for users to experiment with data, automations and interface changes, minimizing the risk of disrupting the live base. Increased Confidence in Updates: Users can test new workflows, interface layouts, formulas, scripts, and automations comprehensively in isolation, ensuring everything works correctly before pushing changes live. Streamlined Workflow: This would eliminate the need for cumbersome workarounds, such as duplicating bases for testing, and reduce confusion caused by multiple versions. It would also allow for seamless transitions from testing to production, improving overall efficiency. Who is the target audience? Power Users: Those who use Airtable for complex projects and need to test changes before going live. Teams and Organizations: Groups relying on Airtable for collaboration, requiring safe testing environments to avoid disruptions. Developers and Technical Users: Those building custom scripts or integrations who need a sandbox for experimentation. Project Managers: Responsible for maintaining base integrity, ensuring changes are vetted before deployment. Consultants: Professionals managing Airtable for clients, needing to demo changes safely before applying them to live bases Thank you Team Airtable !

I would love to see a detailed change log by Airtable where everything that is added or changed gets documented. Everything. Things get changed, added and improved constantly. Often small and helpful things (that I need) which go unnoticed for quite some time because they are not communicated. I would consult such a change log page every morning before I start my work to see what exactly is new. It could be an improved version of the existing "What's new" page but with every detail, not only three changes per month often published way after the fact. That page is already fed by an Airtable app. So it would be extremely low effort to plug every development team into that tool to communicate changes as soon as they are rolled out.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Enable integration with Sharepoint spaces and OneDrive folders/documents How does is solve the user problems? Some of us don't use Google docs/sheets/form/etc. but Microsoft Sharepoint and OneDrive docs and it's very hard to extract value from Airtable without those essential integration with our everyday workflows. How was this validated? I am project manager and program lead who designs Airtable for wider org to adopt. Who is the target audience? All Sharepoint or MS Office users (all of Walmart employees to start with!)

What is the proposed idea/solution? I'd like to have the ability to save draft forms before sending them and recall them later. How does is solve the user problems? A user can start filling out a form, save the answers entered and complete the form at a later time, for example if they need to collect information to be able to answer everything. Who is the target audience? Anyone who uses a form to collect complex information, which requires time to fill out or the need to collect additional information.

What is the proposed idea/solution? ...include an option for automation on field updates to not trigger on each keystroke (i.e. to trigger when focus is lost on the watched field or some other solution) How does is solve the user problems? ...triggering automations on each keystroke causes several problems, especially with two-way sync either within Airtable or with external sources (discussed here: https://community.airtable.com/t5/automations/automation-starts-immediately-after-the-first-keystroke/td-p/101927) How was this validated? ...I have a base that this is causing issues for Who is the target audience? ...anyone who has automations in bases that are enabled with two-way sync

What is the proposed idea/solution? In the Timeline view, I'd love to see a slightly more granular hourly view than "Day split into hours." Most of the records in my base are no more than an hour long, and there tend to be a few phases of the day where they bunch up a lot, which makes the "Day split into hours" zoom level really difficult to read. If there were something more zoomed in, even something as simple as "12 hours split into hours," that would help a lot. (The ability to freely zoom would be even better, but that might be too much to hope for!) When it comes to looking at shorter-duration events at a glance, the calendar view is easier to read, but Grouping is where the Timeline shines, and exactly what I need it for.

What is the proposed idea/solution? The add the ability to group pages on the left nav panel without needing to stick them into different interfaces. How does is solve the user problems? Once an interface has beyond 8 pages, it is too large on the left nav bar and pages need to be grouped. Grouping pages allows users to create a much better an organized user experience. Note that this grouping is currently possible by putting pages into separate interfaces, however this causes other problems since record details pages cannot be shared between interfaces (and cannot be deleted), making it extremely difficult to manage syncing record details pages between interfaces. Who is the target audience? Interface users.
