Requesting an actual field type for tasks. I’m working around this with the long text field by adding checkbox bullets but I can’t see how many complete vs incomplete tasks I have without expanding every single long text field. Trellos Checklists - I love trello’s checklists because you can do a single paste and trello will recognize and convert each item into its own checklist item. for example: this is my first task this is my second task this is my third task hit “ENTER” automatically turns into: SmartSuite cannot recognize the multiple lines and split into multiple tasks yet but they still have a checklist field that shows a running total of completed vs incomplete tasks at a glance. Very cool feature. anyone else find value in the checklist field?

I work with a lot of very big or very small numbers… representing numbers in scientific notation would really make life way easier.
As I understand it, the only way to represent numbers are with integers or decimals (with customizable precision)… or percentages or currency formatting as different field types. Numbers in scientific notation could be stored in text fields, but formulas don’t work with them.
I suppose I could use two fields with the decimal in one field and the exponent in another… but… come on…

I’ve used Airtable for a long time and I wish it had these two simple features: Ability to reset filters/groups/sorting to a user-defined default for each view. That way I can play around but then reset to the defaults. Right now I just generate a view-only link for myself so I don’t mess up my view and refresh to get back to the default settings. It would be much better though if I could make changes in-base then either reset them or set them as the new default to lock them in. Ability to update all views when I change something. For example, if I add a new column and then resize the column then for all of my other views, that column will be tacked on to the end and will not be resized. It’s a lot of work to go through and fix that column in every view every time I want to make a minor change like resizing or adding a column. Often I just delete all of my views and recreate them, since it’s easier than manually updating them all. Anyone agree? Any workarounds that I’m not realizing?

Hi,
I would like to add a field to a form for a phone number, but as Im not in the USA/Canada, the phone number format doesn’t make sense for our users. I could perhaps create a formula to format phone numbers in a particular way, but that’s of no use in a form because you cant insert formula fields in a form.
I would like to suggest a phone number format as follows (XX) XXXX-XXXX. Perhaps this could be an alternative format option under the present phone number field.

Hello Airtable Community,
I find myself needing the ability to share only a particular view of a base with guest users.
Those guest users would be able to filter/order/show/hide (but not edit/delete/add) and create their own views and shareable links… in fact, it would be great to create a custom list of what this users can/can’t do.
The guest users also wouldn’t be able to see the hidden fields by the owner/creator/editor that shared the view with them.

Filling in forms with a smart phone. Typing in a value in a field/form that only can contain numbers should automatically open the number keypad on phones. (thanks for a great service by the way! 🙂 )

We love the new blocks features - particularly the Twilio Block.
We are running multiple large events and are moving away from event software provides as they are expensive and unreliable. With the new Twilio block we can almost run the entire event logistics from Airtable!
However, I have one feature request that would make this feature complete: Scheduling.
As far as I know, one can atm only send real time texts through this block. Scheduling would take this to a new a whole new level. Please consider adding this!

Hi It would really nice to be able to invite guest collaborators for bases that you didn’t need to pay for. I like the Slack model where every member has 5 free guests to add in one channel. Maybe you could do the same so that every paying workspace collaborator has 5 guests to invite. The guest could only have access to one base and if gain access to more than one they would be billed for. Rigth now when you have to collaborate with people outside your team you have to move a base to a free workspace. And can understand why Airtable choose to do this but maybe guest access could be a way in between.

I am sorry but while your tutorial videos have nice screenshots, and music they are not tutorials. They may show an overview of how a feature is used but without someone actually explaining what is going on they are useless, I watched the linking videos 10 times and am still clueless. Please create a longer full length viseo with commentary that walks though the entire process of setting up a functional base and using the featues.
