What is the proposed idea/solution? Currently in a list view in Airtable, a url field does not allow the url contained therein to be clicked. Clicking in the field only begins editing the field. Because of this, the only way to actually navigate to the url contained in the field is to either click on it from a grid view, or copy it from the field in the list view and paste it into the browser manually. Video here of current list view behavior vs. grid view. How does is solve the user problems? Rather than having to change views or copy and paste, allows the url to be used for its stated purpose Who is the target audience? All list view users.

It would be interesting that when opening a database, the default interface opens with the layout Overview as a home page, with a text “Create your app”. And that the database is accessible from the current menu. I design templates and sometimes it is confusing for customers to see the base directly, they tend to get stressed, even worse if they are users who do not know Airtable.

The UI search bar currently requires an exact match for records to appear in search results, which can be limiting, especially when searching for specific details like the last few digits of a serial number or microchip number. The Base table’s search bar offers a more advanced matching feature, allowing users to find records based on partial entries. To improve usability and efficiency, I suggest updating the UI search bar to offer similar functionality as the Base table search. This would eliminate the need to rely on the 'Filter' option for partial searches and better support workflows that depend on quickly finding specific data. Your urgent attention to this matter is appreciated.

What is the proposed idea/solution? For our projects we schedule around a keystone/constraint/foundation task. It would be nice to be able see where this keystone task sits when the items in group are collapsed. This way, we can drag the whole group backwards and forwards without having to expand the view and select all the tasks, which is slow. In view settings, would be able to optionally specify "Keystone task name" which would be highlighted in collapsed view, and also when expanded. Example: How does it solve user problems? Increase speed and effectiveness of adjusting projects with a focus on a key resource. How was this validated? Can't validate UI elements, but can confirm that rescheduling a collapsed group is much easier and quicker. Only trouble is need to expand to be able to see constraint resource! Who is the target audience? Anyone using Airtable for project management

In the comments in any airtable record it would be good to have attachment option so users can post pics, videos, files, leave an audio message, video message, etc.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Now to filter field you need to: 1) Press field title, 2) move cursor down, 3) press Filter by this field, 4) choose value(s) from drop list. That's really a lot of moves when you need to filter by a few such fields! My idea is add a possibility to filter single select/checkbox and other fields with single select property immediately by visible value: in some record you see a needed value by which you want to filter and: 1) press right button on value (goes to function menue), 2) press a line called something like "Filter by this field+value". Thats all! It adds filter by choosen field and value. How does is solve the user problems? Make filtering single select/checkbox and other fields with single select property much faster and easier How was this validated? By making a lot of unnecessary moves while filtering multiple fields. Who is the target audience? Everyone who uses single select/checkbox and other fields with single select property.

What is the proposed idea/solution? The proposed solution is to introduce a feature in Airtable's Kanban view that allows users to manually reorder columns when using linked fields, just as they can with single-select fields. This would involve a drag-and-drop functionality where users can click and move columns into their preferred order, rather than having them automatically sorted alphabetically. How does is solve the user problems? Currently, users are limited by the automatic sorting of columns when using linked fields in Kanban view, which can lead to a less intuitive workflow and makes it harder to organize tasks effectively. By allowing manual reordering of columns, users gain the flexibility to arrange their Kanban boards in a way that best fits their workflow and priorities. This would improve the usability of Kanban views, particularly for teams working on complex projects that require customized task organization. How was this validated? The need for this feature has been highlighted by user feedback and the limitations experienced by teams who frequently use linked records in their Kanban views. The idea builds on existing functionality (manual reordering for single-select fields), so it’s a natural extension of a proven feature. While there may not be formal studies validating this specific solution, it is grounded in practical user experience and the need for greater customization in Airtable. Feedback from the Airtable community, including forums and support channels, often reflects a desire for more control over how data is displayed and managed, validating the importance of such a feature. Who is the target audience? The target audience includes Airtable users who rely on Kanban views for project management and task tracking, especially those using linked fields extensively. This feature would benefit teams and individuals looking for more control and customization in their project management processes. It is particularly relevant for users managing complex projects with multiple linked records where the ability to organize columns manually would improve workflow and visibility.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Would love if we could add in a personalized onboarding flow for users in the interfaces we're building. Ex. Be able to add in lightboxes that say "What's this?" for new features or if it's the first time someone is opening a base a step by step flow showing what fields are important in the interface. How does is solve the user problems? A lot of user training and documentation has to be created outside of Airtable to help our users understand what is going on in the tool. Looks like an opportunity to Airtable to take part of that documentation process. How was this validated? Personal experience in creating documentation processes and having to screenshot Airtable interfaces to basically do this manually in Miro. Who is the target audience? Interface users and those building interfaces for their organization.
