Hey there Airtable fans. Something I’ve come across, and I’m sure many of you have is when using Airtable, there’s this whole line, which creates a new record whenever clicked.! I’m running several bases that have numeric fields with default values that always need to be greater than zero. I have more than ten collaborators on most of them. I spend more than a fair amount of time fixing fields with blank entries as they get deleted. It would be nice if the field maintained at least the default value. Functionally, this means that deleting a cell with a default value on 1 would reset the value to 1 instead of leaving a blank cell. ... View more

Thanks for adding the Collaborator’s filed type. I think that is a great addition. Is there a way to have another level of collaborator that has edit access only to the rows they are added to? That way, they can edit their rows, but can’t see or edit any others rows. ... View more

It would be great to have the ability NOT to be forced to select a uniform level of decimal precision for a Numbers Field, and instead just retain the numbers exactly as entered. I appreciate the option to force a particular level of precision in some instances, but in many situations it would be much more convenient, not to mention more accurate, if the decimal precision was not standardized for an entire field. This is particularly important when the data needs to be used for formula calculations. While it is possible to record numbers accurately as text in a Single Line Text field, it quickly becomes a convoluted and error-prone process to convert them back and forth to number formats for use in calculations while also retaining the appropriate level of data precision for each record. This Ask the Community thread ( How to create a ‘Numbers’ field WITHOUT uniform decimal precision?) explains the issue in more detail (and also outlines some of the convoluted workarounds currently required in order to accommodate data with variable decimal precision in Airtable) My specific suggestion would be something along these lines: When creating a new Numbers Field I would love for the format options to include something like “variable precision” or “not specified” as a choice in the Precision drop down, or, perhaps a “show numbers as entered” choice of equal rank to ‘decimal’ and ‘integer’ in the primary format drop down… or just to make all of those selections optional so that the default Numbers Field format assumes that the user enters data exactly the way they want it unless otherwise specified. The Collaborator field type is awesome, but when assigning multiple people to a task the column width needs to get pretty wide. Since the fields show people’s full names, it would be good to be able to set nicknames in the field settings. Or a radio button there for ‘First name only’, "First name and last initial’, ‘First initial and last name’, etc ... View more

It would be very useful if the mobile Airtable app would allow us to create a shortcut icon on our phone homescreen. That way, one tap would open a specific view in a particular base. Since I have created more than one base with several tables and numerous views, I currently need to concentrate when navigating to the required view, requiring four taps. Only a few of my views are meant for on-the-fly viewing/editing (on my iOS phone), so selectively creating shortcuts would be a very welcome feature. ... View more

Hi, I have a view in one of my bases with a date field called ‘Live Date’ and a filter that’s defined as ‘Where “Live Date” is “today”’. I would expect that each day I would open this view, the records in the view would reflect the day’s date. However, this is not the case - the records that stay in the view are those that were marked as ‘today’ on the day the filter was created. This makes it difficult to use Airtable for to-do management as you have to remember to clear the filter and remake it. It’s also challenging when the person using the database isn’t the one who made it and that person only has a read-only permission. This seems inconsistent with other filter behaviours - for example on when filtering on single selects records will move in and out of the base automatically. ... View more
