What is the proposed idea/solution? I would like to see the added options within a Grid View (and also in Interfaces) of the ability to manipulate the order of Linked Records within a Link field. Options including; Sort Records by an associated View within the Linked Table. Sort Records by one or many lookup fields within the Linked Table (such as a date, number, string etc). Sort Records as per their originally linked stack order, but also add a reverse stack option to show the recently added records either first or last. A toggle option that turns off all sort and leaves the current behaviour as is, allowing the user to manually sort records into any random order they desire. If the user toggles a sort on, and then off again, their desired manual sort order returns (and is not lost).   How does is solve the user problems? A user can employ a Scripting Extension script or an Automation script action to execute upon their Link Field being updated, where their script applies the desired sort order to the records within the field - but such a workaround is rigid and out of reach of most common users. I believe that having Link Field sort options as part of the Airtable UI would be a widely accepted and used feature. Who is the target audience? What is the proposed idea/solution? Include the ability to "store" or "save" scripts and processes for reuse in multiple automations.  How does it solve the user problems? Instead of having to manage multiple automations using the same script/process, they can be modified/updated in a single place and update all automations that use them once changes are published. Pipedream does a nice job of this. It would save me a lot of time, and reduce the potential for errors. How was this validated? What is the proposed idea/solution? The org chart extension is a great tool to visualise a tree of records where there is a parent/child relationship implemented using a linked field to a record of the same type. However, the extension isn't easy to integrate into an interface and there is no good way for an end user to choose which group of records should be visualised.  How does is solve the user problems? It is possible to impersonate a user while building/previewing Interfaces. Unfortunately impersonation is limited to the visibility of records, but doesn't consider the impersonee's permissions. E.g. an admin that impersonates a read-only user can still change the value of a field through an automation triggered by a button. Respecting the impersonee's permissions at least in preview mode would be very helpful for building interfaces. ... View more

This seems obvious, and I guess there is a back-end reason it's not already the case. But there are several limitations in airtable that make automation troubleshooting more difficult than it needs to be. It would be infinitely more helpful if airtable's failed automation notifications were instant. There's always a delay of at least a few minutes, but often much longer. The delay, combined with the lack of suggestion 2, makes it quite hard to piece together why an automation has failed (usually we are entering data, going back to another job, and seeing an automation failed notification in the emails later) - so it's not that easy to trace the steps back to find out what action triggered the failure. Activity log for whole base. Rather than needing to check trash logs, individual record logs, etc, it would be really helpful to have all of this info collated in one space. Ideally this log would also included failed automation runs. When there are complicated automations that fire other automations, it's sometimes really hard to piece together what actions are creating failures. It would be great if Pro Plan got a bit of an upgrade on storage and record limits. Whats weird is that there is no tier between Pro and Enterprise.  Airtable should either make Enterprise not have a minimum of 25 users as lots of Small businesses dont need that or make a tier between Enterprise and Pro. 10k USD is an insane jump up from spending 2000 USD a year. This just doesn't make sense. A lot of Saas companies forget that their billing is quite high for places like southeast Asia where businesses are NOT printing money like in the west.  Our business is at 15 GB of storage and about 20k records. Once we are over our storage limit, why cant we simple upgrade the storage only? We dont need more functionality. But are willing to pay extra for storage, but not 5 times the amount we pay now. If Airtable doesn't change this policy, people who outgrow the Pro plan will go elsewhere. Smartsuite is another strong contender coming up and they are pumping out new features and update by the week. Custom fields, map fields, linked records from other bases.
