The Automations do run without any issue when I enter the data directly in Airtable. However, I found out, they do not run if the data is submitted via Airtable Form. I am not sure why they decided to behave this way. If the data is entered, I would expect the automations behave same way, regardless how the data was entered. In my case my Automations have trigger to run when a field of a record is updated. That works well for both entering new data or updating existing data. So I guess I will need to create another copy of my existing automations and set the trigger to run when a new form is submitted?? I guess I have to use the form trigger. Just find it unnecessary. Airtable Support When a form is submitted trigger The “When a form is submitted” automation trigger can be used to trigger an action when a response is submitted to the specified Airtable form. This article covers how to use this trigger along wit...
https://apostolicfaithchurch.box.com/s/otajygxrz336kdx9b7b5ns26amu29tmp Hi there, I am wondering if there is a way to dynamically insert a link into an html element as shown in the video. html <iframe src= "" allowfullscreen="" allowtransparency=""></iframe> Source link: https://objectstorage.us-phoenix-1.oraclecloud.com/n/ax22fojcamx7/b/general-devotionals-audio/o/2021%2FMay%2F495%20A%20Cheerful%20Giver.mp3 Each is in its own AirTable field. Thank you!
Hi All, I am about to rip my hair out (over something that is probably obvious to everyone else!) I have set up an email automation to be sent to the team when a finance date has passed. However the email is sending whenever a date is entered into the field (not when its overdue) and in the email automation the date doesn’t match what is entered into the field and states that its a month earlier. This is the automation I have set up at the moment. The second date field is to ensure that if finance approval has been received already a reminder is not sent. and this is the email that is sent. However when the email comes through, it gets as soon as I enter any date in the Finance Due field and then the date in the email doesn’t match the date in the field that it is meant to be pulling from. eg, the correct date for this one should have been the 8th September 2021 not the 8th August 2021. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Dear airtable community, currently I’m using the “QR Code Maker” app in Airtable, which works great for me at this point. Now I want to take the next step and fully automate my process, by letting the app generate a qr code, without me manually having to confirm that procedure. As soon as a certain field is filled the qr code should be added to the chosen line. Since I couldn’t find this option straight in the app, I had a look into the automation category and noticed the custom script option. As far as I can assess this, I think that this is the best option. If there is another great solution to tackle my automated qr code creation, please be so kind and let me know, any help is highly appreciated! Thanks in advance guys, take care and stay safe! Kind regards, Karim :slightly_smiling_face:
Hi guys, here’s what I need help with: Thanks
I’ve been using Airtable for a couple years and I’ve accumulated a lot (26 automations), and I can’t believe there is no way to manually sort (rearrange) the automations… Am I missing something, Airtable can you build this?!
Hi! Does anyone know of a clever way to track outlook email threads using Airtable’s native automations? Unfortunatley, Zapier isn’t an option for us or I would use that. Currently, I have an automation to create a new record when a folder in my Outlook receives an email (based on an outlook filter rule). When someone replies to said email, I’d like a new record created and linked to the existing record for that email thread.
Hi guys! I’m taking a form on my company, and this form is available for the same person to answer how many times she wants. It’s a definitive and continuum form. I was thinking about a filter that could give me the last answer of each person over the time, like a checkbox or a field with yes or no. Like an automation who could give me if the “submit” was the “last submit” of that person, so I could filter and create a unique visualization. The only in common record in each answer is the name, so if they have the same name, and the timestamp of each one it’s different, I would like that this automation could give me an answer for the question “Was it the last answer of this person?” It’s possible? Thanks
Trying to set up a Outlook calendar automation, but it isn’t testing successfully. All required fields are populated that I can see, and I tried retesting each action in order. Date fields that are being considered are the same format. The last action is the only one that isn’t working.
Hi everyone! In a client’s base, they have a form where applicants essentially fill out a job application. Applicants upload their resume, and then I have an automation set up that pushes their demographic information into a “Contacts” table and the job-specific information, including their resume, into an “Applications” table. This works perfectly about 90% of the time. Seemingly randomly, some resumes aren’t appearing in the Applications table. When I look at the record history, I see this: Why would the automation add the resume only to immediately delete it? Has anyone run into this before?
Hi There! I am pretty new on airtable but finding out that it is a really helpful tool for my bussiness I am preparing (fighting against actually:-)) an accounting table and i want to convert a formula field to a linked field through an automation. I dont have any problem if the formula returns a single string but i am not able to do that when the formula returns several trings separated by commas. I have read here and there that this option ( i mean, to convert a string with commas into diferente links on a linked fill is possible just copying and pasting) But, with the automation, i get a single link instead of several links. ¿Do you know why it is happening? Thanks! David
In Automation “Find Records”, only 100 records get found for the subsequent action. What are the work arounds for updating more than 100 records?
Hello! New Airtable uses and non-techy type, so thank you for your patience and translations if I use the wrong lingo. I have a database with appx 800 records, each record represents a person. I’d like to send an email to everyone and have them respond to a question that I would like to automatically add into the record. I understand how to make a form (I think), but am unclear about how to automatically send a link that would pull into this current base. I can create a new one, but that seems like a bit of double handling. I’ve had a brief look at the Zapier option, but it seems costly and like quite a bit more than what I need to do on this instance. Also I eventually need to add an automation that sends an email when a certain box is ticked. But I think that will be a bit easier than this first challenge! Thanks! Cessalee
I must be as dumb as a box of rocks, but I cannot figure this out. I am trying to make all day events export to my Google calendar. In the Automations configuration screen, I have “all day event” checked, which you would THINK would negate the need for specific dates/times to be added. Apparently that is not the case. The form won’t let you even run a test unless you put in a start and end date. Originally I had a single Date field, but I kept getting “Unable to parse datetime:”" error. Soooo, I added a new field to my base (which I don’t really need & it clutters my view up to NO end) to add an end date. Thus now I have a start date table field and an end date table field, both configured as “Date - US”. Same error message. Do I really need to add times for all day events that don’t require same? I’ve read all the other threads on this and haven’t come up with anything that helps, I guess b/c nobody else is trying to set up all day events? Also, I’m no kind of genius with for
Hi I have a quick question about setting parameters of when an email automation sends out. I have my automation setup to email certain users based off of a record being updated that is within their view. I’m noticing that I am spamming people because Airtable is sending the email before I’m done typing in all of the notes. Is there a way to not have the automation fire immmediately? I want it to fire when I’m done updating the record vs in the middle of it. Hopefully that make sense. Emails that were sent: Automation: If this is posted somewhere else please point me in that direction. I tried searching but couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for. Thanks in advance for the help! Lindsey
I have written a script that gets triggered when a record enters a View, and that entrance into the View is supposed to happen just after any field in the record is modified. The script itself creates or deletes records in another table based on the event-speaker combinations in the original record. Well, I find some interesting behavior when I duplicate a test record. Specifically, the duplicate AND the original records both enter the View triggering the script twice. I would like to know why the original record is considered modified according to the LAST_MODIFIED_TIME() function, and if there is anyway to stop this from happening. Thank you.
In the same table I have a column that has a running tally of copies sold (I sell books) and in another column I have the Sold Out Amount. I’d like to create an automation that triggers when Copies Sold equals the same amount as the integer in Sold Out Amount which seems like an easy thing to have happen but the automation won’t let me put in a field name to compare
We are trying to create personalized product recommendations based on answers to a survey. We have a survey in Landbot that we would like to create product recommendations, where a consumer could add the products to their shopping cart in Shopify. Has anyone done something like this?
Ultimate goal: Have analytics in one place so I can run graphs/reports. I have a spreadsheet where folks have been entering analytics. I also have a table with the stories. I’d like to merge them in some way. One idea i had was to create a new table for the FB posts. Table “FB Posts” column “FB Text” includes the same text as Table “Editorial Content” Column “Social Text”. I added a Lookup column to Editorial content so it will show the FB reach, but I need to fill out the “Link to FB Posts table” to make the lookup column work. I thought I could run an automation. Here’s what I have so far: Trigger when record enters a view in “FB Posts” (I added a checkbox in FB posts table to trigger this). Find records Table Editorial Content Find records based on Condition where “Social Text” contains "Record (Step 1: Trigger) Field Values “FB Text” But I get lost at the Update Action. Thanks for your help!
I am the original creator of my companies’ Airtable account, and as such I created all of the automations and integrations. In the majority of our automations, we use our company Gmail account to send an email as a result. Today it came to my attention that the password for that Gmail account was changed, and as such the integration was broken in Airtable. When my co-worker (who has full admin access to our Airtable) looks at the “Manage connected accounts” menu, she sees “no connected accounts”. My question - is a collaborator unable to view / edit connected accounts, regardless of their access level?
Hi there! I am setting up a Gmail: Send email automation. Everything is working as expected. I want to add email addresses on the cc but I can’t seem to find how. See attached photo below to check how the setting looks on my end. Am I missing something? If there is a prior discussion on this, kindly link me to it, please. Thanks in advance for any help.
I have a sheet that facilitates a document workflow between Creatives and Client. Creatives add draft copy to an attachment column, which triggers an automated notification to the Client to review it. If the Client has feedback, they put it into a 2nd attachment column (“Feedback”), which notifies the Creatives, who will add their revised draft to the 1st column, and so on. In addition to notifying the relevant party, the automation updates a Status column. What I’d like to do is prevent the Client from updating their attachment column while the Status indicates the ball is in the Creatives’ court; and vice versa. Can columns be disabled or permissions adjusted conditionally using the “Run a script” option in the automation? Any feedback on the best way to prevent one party from interrupting the other would be appreciated. Thanks!
I don’t this this is available for airtable but I am trying to send a email that has a calendar view through airtable. But the only options I see available are basically either a list or grid HTML file. I would assume airtable can’t actually send a email with the day’s events in calendar view.
I’m on the free plan and when setting up an automation to send an email I get this error message: “On your billing plan, you may only email collaborators with verified emails. Contact your workspace administrator to upgrade.” However, the email address I’m putting in is my Airtable username and it has been verified. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Hi, I’m looking for a solution for creating an automation that changes the status of a new record to “Denied” if a record already exists with the same requestor name but with status “Approved” in the last 30 days. Can someone help me if this is possible?
