Custom workspace announcements that can be pushed to all bases and/or visible at the workspace level. This would be handy in a distributed team / enterprise environment where each team operates in their own base within a single workspace.Implementation ideas: either in a form of a custom notification event, a popup banner inside the base or workspace, or an Airtable made announcements app (we have third party apps disabled in our environment for security reasons).

I want to limit a view to a set # of records (10, for example), as requested here.Airtable defines views as:you can use views to show only specific fields or records, and apply other configurations to manage the information in that viewExactly: “show only specific fields or records”. This is basic functionality, included in all programming languages, and should be built natively into Airtable (in my humblest of opinions 🙂 ) without requiring an automation, or a script, or any “workaround”, as suggested in the link above.Thanks for your consideration!

I want to be able to use the Kanban view with Single Select options that are made based on conditional formulas.

Please add the ability to set a default option in Single Select fields, akin to the Default Text feature currently offered in Single Text fields. Thank you!

I’d like to be able to have integer fields that use a slider, like SurveyMonkey’s Slider Questions.

It would be nice to have an easy way to see what other fields a certain field is being used in.Ex: If I have a field called Start date and this field is used in the formulas for three other fields, it would be nice to be able to click on the Start date field and see what those other fields are. Otherwise, if I need to check where a field is used, I end up having to check all 200 other formula fields in my table (not to mention the other tables in the base that may be using lookup/rollup fields)

We’ve got two types of users in our org. Some who are deep into Airtable all the time and some who are mostly just viewing information but who could make small updates to records (e.g. update the status of a task) if they had access to do so. However, given the limited scope of what these users need to do, we can’t justify the cost of moving them from Read-Only to paid user access. Unfortunately, that makes Airtable less useful than it could be if money were no object.I’d be willing to pay a smaller monthly fee per user for these types of users if it were offered. But as it stands today, we’ve had to limit paid licenses to just the handful of team members who need deeper access to the data.

We have many views that records pass through as certain criteria is met. Eg. The “photo is ready for loading view”. Currently a user must open a view to see if there is a record (or more) in it that needs attention. Would be great if on a view we could switch on “notification” which would then show a red button on the view title in the left view menu with the number of records in the view showing inside the red the button. Just like messaging on your phone. Then at a glance we can see what needs to be done.

Hi there: Part of how I use Airtable is as a CRM, and I am setting up a table that my staff can use to track customer interactions. We are interacting with hundreds of customers, and it’s very useful to be able to know which staff member was involved in previous communications with a customer. Just like there is a “created time” field type, it would be great to have a “created by” field type. Alternatively, a formula that returned the username of the active user would also be a potential solution. Thanks, Paul

Love the new interfaces feature.It would be great if it were possible to add fields into groups or sections which are visible based on different criteria.For example, I’m using the interfaces feature to input data for different rooms / spaces. If I were to select one out of two rooms, the input boxes for the second room would become invisible.

Hello all— Hopefully an easy feature request for your consideration. In my tables, I usually put “Instagram” and “Twitter” as the “Single Line Text” field type. That creates two issues: first, people sometimes put @pvdstudentunion and other times they leave the “@” off. Second, the field doesn’t actually do anything, it just sits there. I dream about them linking to the actual profile. Can you make a new field type that enforces a certain format and turns the text into a link to that profile? It would be exactly like the Email field, but for Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc. Actually, maybe a single “Social” field type, with each platform’s settings as a different formatting option (similar to the “Lookup” field type) would be possible, so that there aren’t a dozen new field types added for each of the different platforms. This is actually a bug in my opinion, but since it’s been around for a while…I think the activity log details should be in step with the automation history. Right now when a user pastes a new record or field for example, followed by an immediate undo or overwrite with another value, automations will fire on the pre-undo values.You will not find these original values in the record history however as it doesn’t actually store / show changes when they are really close to each other. The result is an automation update that doesn’t make sense in the context of the activity log.Needless to say this can cause discussion and hours of searching when you’re not aware of that ‘feature’.Improvement would be much appreciated.

Many people run cohort-based online courses out of Airtable, and for them it’s crucial to collect time availability of participants and facilitators. Right now, it’s pretty painful to do so: you either have to create a huge multi-select list, or use a separate service.I think it’d be great if there was a Time Availability field type. I’m using Airtable to document design elements. Is it possible to make hex code a field type so that when I enter in a hexcode I can see what color its referring to? Slack has something similar where if you send a hexcode it recognizes it as a color and displays it in the message.

Hi Airtable Community,I was wondering if anyone knows of an app and/or Airtable feature that will let you show an Activity Indicator on Kanban boards. I know you can click on the notifications to see all comments that have been made, but it would be good to see an alert directly on the kanban card, similar to how you see an activity update on your iphone or android apps. So we would be able to see which cards have activity on them.Thanks!

It would usefull to get the list of views on a specific table. My client application would be much more dynamic if I had this feature in the APIs. Something like GET https://api.airtable.com/v0/BASEID/TABLEID/views Thanks a lot for this fantastic solution !

Rich text is great but would be amazing to be able to have a new field or improve long text field type to have the same features of Box notes, dropbox paper etc.And/or allow these file types to be uploaded to the attachment field.

The new Beta Interface only allows Pick items to be sorted. Records should be able to be sorted too, or at least show up in the same sorted sequence as the underlying table.

Hey Airtable,Was trying to use the timeline block for scheduling shooting days and despite being very promising for doing so, it was quite cumbersome to use for the following reasons.There is no button to fit the entire timeline in the view. Sometimes you lose your data, you scroll or zoom out … this is frustrating. A simple “fit content to view” button would be great !In the same vein, a navigation thumbnail with a window highlighting the current viewed area would help too (above or below the window).Moreover, if we could have a customizable background grid to choose displaying the relevant units of time only: weeks, days, hours, minutes, …Thank you for considering these suggestions !CheersR.

I love Airtable automations. It’s nice to be able to do everything within Airtable, instead of using a third party tool. The problem is, that these automations are starting to add up, and it’s becoming difficult to keep track of them, as well as to find the automations that I need to edit. It would be nice to have some combination of the following: an ability to drag and drop automations (manual sorting), so that they are in some logical order an ability to tag automations and allow them to be grouped by tag or type an ability to restrict the viewing of automations to only those that involve the table that you’re currently viewing. If I’m viewing a contacts table, I don’t need to see my interactions table automations and vice versa. The number of automations I have currently doesn’t make this a major issue, but I’m adding new automations every week and will soon find them difficult to manage.

The DateTime column type is fantastic for calendar view, and calendar view is great for exporting to other calendars. One main feature in most calendars on, for example, the iCal format, is the ability to create events that don’t have a specific time. These are usually marked as “all day” events. Or they could be useful for things when you know what the date is, but you haven’t figured out the time yet. At the moment, the workaround appears to be let the field default to the time of midnight. It’s workable, but I’d love to see the datatype be able to handle something like “null” for time.

I would really like the ability to create or edit fields with a formula on the Android app. Currently, this is only available on desktop. Even if I create the field as a formula on desktop, I cannot edit the formula on the mobile app.
