I would love the option of showing a gallery-style photo in the matrix block/app. I use Airtable to manage rosters for a number of different organizations, and lately we’ve been uploading photos to be able to automatically generate photo grids for these groups. The matrix view is the best way for us to show these grids organized by meaningful sub-groups (e.g. sections of a choir, classes of a preschool, etc.) in each column, which the people listed down the side. I know this could get messy with multiple records in a matrix square, but in these cases where we know there will only be one record per square, having the photo option would be great!

While the ‘limit record selection to a view’ feature exists, it doesn’t solve my problems. It would, however, if field order and visibility were retained.ProblemLinked Records currently display all of a record’s fields. Hi, I notice that when I use the “checklist” available in the rich text options and physically check tick the boxes at the top of the list, my scroll jumps to the bottom. Then I need to scroll back to the top of the checklist, and it takes me longer to get through. Is it possible to make this a smooth process, where the scroll does not jump as I check the boxes? Expanded record editing panel (or whatever it is called, the window that opens when clicking the expansion arrows <->, or when simply TAPPING on the line record on iOS) … the editing panel is inconsistent on the iOS and Android mobile app and on the Web / Desktop.In the grid view I have marked many fields to be hidden (mostly function fields I don’t want to see) and left showing in the view (and in the editing window) only that subset of fields I only want to see.Makes sense? Standard feature. Yo!I have been using Airtable for a little while now, coming from Trello, and I love it. Great work the Airtable team has done.There is one way I believe this already-great program can become even better, though.What about adding an option that allows a Multiple Select category to automatically arrange record data, based on the order the options appear in the dropdown menu?Notice how the “Damage” option appears before “Wounds” in the top record, but then after it in the record at the bottom?It would be of considerable benefit to a-many of us if we could get a tick option in the Multiple Select dropdown menu to automatically sort each record’s cell data.Thanks for reading.

Can’t change the row size in the basic grid view. The images are too small on iOS and can barely see them. Please allow adjusting the size of the row in the sme same way I can do that on the web or on the desktop app. The issue is in particular on iPad mini, it has high resolution but small screen. Very difficult to see what is on the image thumbnail.

When using taller record heights, date/time fields should wrap when the column gets to be too small.Come to think of it, any field should wrap

I would love to be able to add an arrow, boxes and other annotation to screenshots in the Web Clipper.That would turn it into a highly useful bug reporting tool for my team. Search is THE MOST IMPORTANT FEATURE.it shoudl be like macbook’s search feature.

This actually might be a bug in Airtable, but I’d like to add it as a feature request:In Grid View, if your row height is set to “short”, you can hover over a “Long Text” field and Airtable will give you a tooltip with a preview of the full text. This is very helpful! See screenshot below.However, as soon as you change your row height to any other height besides “short”, these preview tooltips no longer activate anymore. Even if you still have unseen text in the long text field, Airtable won’t show you the preview tooltip anymore.It would be very helpful if the preview tooltips always displayed if there was still more text to be seen — regardless of the row height.Thanks!

It would be great to link to other records in the comment section of records, in the same way we can reference collaborators using the @ feature. It could use the same @ function, or perhaps use # as a pre-cursor. For example, if I typed the following: Hey, @Jane Doe, you can find more details about that here: #Record NameWhere the “#Record Name” links to the record in Airtable.Does that make sense?

Would be nice to be able to quickly switch between Bases and Workspaces without having to go back to Home. Similar to how you can switch between Views for a Table.

As a business user, I would like to display and edit records with periodic values using a columnar layout so that I can view and update repeating data in a compact form. The columns should be based on a filter (such as a date range), so that one view can be used to dynamically change the range displayed. This capability would allow AirTable to replace separate software we use for time sheets (hours per day for each person), project planning (effort per month for each task), budgeting (amount per month for each account), and more. Displacing any one of these products would make Airtable pay for itself. Implementation note: This is like a pivot table, but where data in each column can be edited and the range of the columns displayed is dynamic based on a filter.

Love the new automation feature.Would love if it could be programmed to require approval before processing bulk automations, which often get triggered without meaning to.For example, I have an automation that is triggered by a view that was filtered based on a single line text field. I changed the field type to that single-select, thereby wiping out the filter in the view, and triggering 493 unwanted automations. Grrrrrrr…

I’d love a Block that generates a word cloud based on the data in both specific and multiple fields at a time. In a perfect world, you’d have the ability to exclude articles 🙃

Google sheets already supports this, whereas Excel does not. Airtable would be wise to follow Google’s lead. Or leapfrog them both and add a ton of array functionality.

Fieldbook is shutting down soon, and with it goes one of my favourite features I haven’t been able to find anywhere else: an exhaustive detail view. Currently, in order to see any detail on linked records, you need to click through and open a new window. However, the way Fieldbook does it, all of that information is displayed immediately below the main entry data – and is editable! Does anyone know of a way to implement something like this without resorting to a ton of lookup fields?

I would like to limit the number of characters users can write in multiple lines text field.Today I can only count characters and display an alarm over a certain limit, but I cannot unable the user to write more.

Search functionality should show the result with sorted cells not just highlight the cells with information. Just like filter.thank you.Jay

The form does not have the function of adding multiple records, only selection is not acceptable, whether it is possible to add another table record so that other records do not appear.

A couple months ago, Airtable started forcing the All Views left sidebar into all my bases. This is extremely annoying and invasive. I don’t need that view. It is distracting to always have to close it every time I open a base. Airtable should allow users the option to disable that feature and return to how things were prior to a couple months ago…with the base opening and NOT showing All Views left sidebar.

In addition to your current print export options, it’d be fantastic to be able to lay out Dymo labels using provided templates and then using our base’s knowledge to drive automated output of labels based on all kinds of strategic criteria.

Feature suggestion: the ability to hide/archive a table within a base. I’m not talking about records, nor am I talking about creating a link to a view to share with others. I actually want to hide a table that I’m not currently using but that I also don’t want to delete. (For example: I have three content calendars, and I ended up not using one. I don’t want to delete it because I hope to use it in the future, but I also don’t need it cluttering my view every day.) Thanks!
